    Album Description

The origin of the word "pioneer" derives from the Frech word pion or "foot soldier," a soldier whose task it was to prepare the way for the main body of troops marching into a new area. In the most literal sense of the word Robert Davis Jr. a.k.a. "DJ Screw" was a true hip hop pioneer. Davis was and is the grand master of "Screwed & Chopped" music, a technique of slowing the pace of music to almost an obscure drag personifying the underground lifestyle of the Houston streets that made him famous. With a small army of MCs known as the Screwed Up Click or S.U.C., Screw began a mix-tape movement that would one day take the music industry by storm.

Unfortunately, DJ Screw would not live to see his army which once only enjoyed celebrity status in Houston's underground and hailed as "platinum in the streets" now reaping the benefits of global sales becoming "platinum in the charts." DJ Screw has left legacy from what was once a cult following to the mainstream embrace of his sound that has launched several careers and arguably one of the biggest movements in hip hop.

DJ Screw: Untold Story tells the story of Robert Davis before the phenomenon and before the fame from the people who were there. This DVD also contains never-before seen footage of the one man who gave Houston its sound indentity, at work and at play as well as interviews with the original members of the S.U.C., Davis' family members and others whose careers are influenced by his music.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Album.......2005-06-06

The Game's voice is definitel changed and his lyrics are mostly about Gangstas and Guns in Untold Story.

The DVD is just JT introducing The Game and his album. But it also got some studio work by The Game and his music videos.

2 out of 5 stars one of his less better mixtapes.......2007-01-28

this mixtape isnt really worth any more than 2 stars,i think the game is a dope artist and im probly a bit biased when writing reveiws of his ablums, and i still didnt like it much,i just couldnt get into the beats on subject matter,it seems rushed to me,keep your cash and get one of games better mixtapes,he has a whole stack of them...lol

5 out of 5 stars The best album I've ever heard.......2006-01-25

I thought this cd wouldn't be very good because after artist makes a cd as good as The Documentary they seem to have used most of their creativity. But this is the best rap album ever.

3 out of 5 stars The Game ----- The Untold Story, Part 2.......2006-01-09

If The Game is rap's self proclaimed MVP for 2005, Then JT The Bigga Figga could be a candidate for raps 2005 Executive of the Year. Every couple of months JT puts out some old Game material that apparently, he has the rights to, then those records go on to sell a lot of copies with minimal expense to JT. You can't really knock that, unless of course, it's your material that he's selling. In just a few months JT has released two albums by one of Hip-Hops biggest superstars. The second of JT's series, Untold Story Volume II (Fastlife), featuring The Game seems to have made no improvements upon where Volume I left off.

Untold Story Vol. II is clearly more of a JT project than a Game project. A lot of the vocals were recorded by The Game years ago when he was still in the early stages of his career. But even then, The Game displayed the realness that makes him one of Hip-Hop's biggest stars on songs like "Just Beginning", where he airs out his father over some smooth guitar licks, for some of the things his father did to his family while he was growing up. Another song that true Game fans can appreciate is "Truth Rap" where he speaks about life in the ghetto in a way that only a few can when he spits "Nobody knows there neighbors name/ unless they sell weed or cocaine/a lot of black clouds on a block with no rain/The game got a lot to say/ so they wanna take me down in my own front yard like Marvin Gaye." But outside of a few other decent tracks from The Game himself including "Business Never Personal" - "Real Live on blocks, if we aint pushin the rocks, we movin the stocks", Volume II suffers from mediocre production and a lack of creative direction mainly because the star of the show had NO input in the creative process.

It's unclear how much of The Game's material JT has left in his vault but what is clear after listening to this album is that he's probably getting pretty low on his stash, which means that pretty soon JT is gonna have to come up with a new hustle for 2006. Untold Story Vol. II has a similar feel to a recent posthumous Tupac album where the lyrics seem a little outdated and a little too familiar (heard some of these verses on the last album) and the production and the M.C. just aren't on the same page and don't compliment each other at all. Now, while Tupac can get away with that, the same thing can not be said at this point for JT The Bigga Figga or The Game.

      5 out of 5 stars Good Listen.......2005-10-26

This cd is pretty good even though JT just wants to make money off The Game. This album is better then the first Untold Story but just slightly under The Documentary. Favorite songs are Walk Thru The Sky,Born And Raised In Compton, and Game Get Live. I recommend that Game fans buy this album and if you want to hear a little of the Westcoast then this cd is for you.

      5 out of 5 stars Good CD.......2005-10-26

The Game is one of the best to come out of the westcoast in a long time. This cd is not what you think it is, it does not have the beats that his true debut The Documentary has but the lyrics are a little better on this cd but most people will say other wise but this is my opinion. I recommend that hardcore Game fans buy this cd and people who like underground cds.

3 out of 5 stars oh wait....maybe it IS game.......2005-11-12

gadgetguru, you turd, this is JT's real record remixed by michael watts, the most prolific Screw DJ still living. the distorted voice which sounds horrible is of course the result of the "screwed and chopped" or "slowed and throwed" style quite deliberately applied by the DJ. JT probably paid watts a cool five grand or so to make this record sound so nightmarish to you. screwed and chopped is taking over the world, as you will see, and guru, you must swim fast or you'll sink like a stone, for the times they are a'changin'. with that out of the way, I will say that this album is probably not the best vehicle for the screwed style. aside from modern-day bluesmen like Tupac and E-40, the west coast sound generally isn't that Screw-friendly; its flavor is just too singular, too disctinctive as it is. but this album has some more specific hurdles. the cheesy original production falls into the category of "west coast garage", the game himself appears to be in something of a formative stage lyrically, and watts sounds like he just needed to make a few quick dollars to put into his studio so he could make his remix of Paul Wall's "The People's Champ" sound bangin like a mug. but this timepiece is worth owning for anyone with an interest in the respective evolutions of both artists, and if you're a fan of either of them, it is likely that you will find something to enjoy in this collection. is it as satisfying as "the Documentary" or the screwed version of "People's Champ?" hell no, of course not but Screw it. it's a fun record to lean to, like pretty much any other 5000 remix, so shut up and ride.

1 out of 5 stars Not "really" a Game CD!!.......2005-05-19

People looking at this CD should be warned that this is not a "real" CD by "The Game." The "chopped and screwed" part of the title indicates that it is mixed, and beyond recognition!! The voice is slowed down and distorted. It sounds horrible. There is another CD called "Untold Story" produced by JT that is the "real" CD, not this one.

4 out of 5 stars The Game - Untold Story.......2006-05-26

Album came out before Game was in the Aftermath and spittin with all the people he does now. He sounds a lot different than he does on his new sh*t or different than he does on his "Documentary" album. Let me explain my thoughts on this album.

The lyrics, The Game raps about the same stuff that he does pretty much now. He isnt the only one that raps on the album. Theres other underground cats that spit on the album that got some decent verses here and there. But Game shows what he wants and spits his sh*t quite well. But I think hes better now. But if your a true Game fan you need to check his style on this one.

Production wise, I think that the production on here was better than "Documentary". Well maybe not better but I like it more. They sound more West Coast and there is alot more bangers. "Documentary" almost sounded East Coast, lmao. This album definately more West Coast vibes to it. So if you like that West sound, this album comes with it. But every beat gots potential in it.

Overall, a pretty good release from The Game. I'd rather listen to this than the Documentary though.

1 out of 5 stars Sorry Game But Your Style Ain't Gangsta !.......2006-03-04

Jt The Bigga Figga has released a compilation of some past Game Tracks, and i must say that it is very bad, you can really notice how bad Game's style was back then, i only recommend this for diehard Game fans!

by the way he is NOT gonna "save" the westcoast, his poor efforts of trying to ruin 50's reputation prove how bad and immature and desperate Game really is...

to all those who are interested in Game, he is actually releasing an album soon ! "The Dr's Advocate" i think it was gonna be called.

4 out of 5 stars Good Cd... better than I expected.......2006-02-27

This underground album is a solid release. There are only 4 songs that aren't good, one being a good song with a terrible chorus (see Don't Cry). The best songs are Compton 2 Fillmore, G.A.M.E., Cali Boyz & Compton Compton. Every song after G.A.M.E. is a solid track worth at least 4/5. He really puts it down here for the west coast and it would have been better without so many featured artists (the only good ones are JT Young Noble & Blue Chip). Definately pick this up if you like his newer stuff otherwise get that first.

      5 out of 5 stars Game is a PROBLEM!!!.......2005-12-15

This is Game's work before the deal with Aftermath Entertainment. But even back then you can hear his hunger and passion for hip hop. I got a lot of respect for Game because he isn't just a rapper...he is a lyricist. You can tell that he is conscious of every line he spits. Game is the best new artist to debut in a long time and he definitely has what it takes to become a legend as far as I'm concerned. Plus on top of that he is a VICIOUS battle MC too. Sort of reminds me of a new Ice Cube...
