Product Description
This is Death Comet Crew. Described on back of case as follows: Fade in to Recession ridden NYC lat '70's, early 80's. In the clubs a new generation of black, white, uptown & downtown, ghetto & fabulous mixed wildly to No Wave, New Wave, old Soul & Rock, Punk, Post Punk, Funk, Hip hop & Electro were coalescing into new forms. We created a new scene and made our own sound of anything-goes-music. Everyone who mattered took the chance to make a new group, new art-or both. The gritty night streets were painted in bright new aerosol colors; bombed trains rolled the tracks and hiphop rocked it's way out of the Bronx. Death Comet Crew recombined hiphop beats, TV Soundtracks & dialog, careening delay washed guitar strings, funky bass, and Wild Style rapping in barely controlled improvisation. ArenaSexDeath-Death Star Crew-and finally Death Comet Crew-different tags, one year, but the same bank. NYC 1984- this is Riphop! This release ha 13 Tracks: 1. America 2. Amphipet 3. Rifleman 4.
