A Hiero Compilation, Its Good but I Miss Souls as Unit.......2005-09-20
"The Corner" is the latest compilation offered up by the Hieroglyphics crew. The 11 track offering is satisfying and in many ways serves as a preview disc as to what to expect from the various artists in the future. From Casual we have "Say That Then" from his current album "Smash Rockwell." This is a song with a slamming track and has a signature Casual style. I personally miss Souls of Mischief on this album. A Plus dedicates "Good Time Charlie" to his Uncle Lloyd who passed away. Despite the melancholoy intro this is an enjoyable song. Tajai shings on "Raindance" remix and Pep Love and Opio make beautiful hip-hop music with their contributions "Stop Rock" and "Stars," their is a certain magic that happens when all of the members of Souls of Mischief get on a song together. Opio's "Stars" is a really high energy song with a crazy track and this is personally my favorite song on the CD. Shake Da Mayor brings a little humor to the CD with his song "Everybody's Gangsta," where he comments about how everyone in his town is gangsta. The Hiero crew get together on the tracks "What The Funk" and "Love Flowin'." The CD also includes several music videos and bonus content.
