About the Artist
Von G., was born and raised in the unforgiving streets of Chicago's southside. First inspired by LL Cool J, Von began rapping at the age of five while diverse musical influences, including 2Pac, NWA, Da Brat, and even Kriss Kross, helped shaped Von's laid-back, Midwest flow over the years.
At the age of 16 his life of hustling on the streets and creating a name for himself led Von G. to Raise Up Records where he and partner, Fatal, became members of the Raise Up Clique and did guest appearances on both the self-titled Raise Up Clique album and the Boss Bitch's 1999 release, “Psycho”. Von has become an experienced performer as well, opening for such acts as Nelly, Eightball & MJG, Twista, and various Cash Money Artists.
Von has continued to write non-stop for his solo debut. Teaming up with Fatal again in the studio for several tracks, the pair's self-described “dangerous” style is a combination of Von's deep, insightful lyrics with unique rhyme and delivery and Fatal's full-on verbal assaults. Now 19 years old and having matured his flow, Von G. is ready to drop his first solo release entitled, “Dopeman's Comin'”.
