Luscious... Ibiza trance at its finest.......2007-01-26

Whenever I listen to this song, it brings me back to the beach, with seagulls, saltwater, sun, no worries, no stress. The original version is brilliant -- I don't like any of the remixes -- and I love the lyrical, smooth, expressive vocals and harmonies over the rhythmic pulse. The climax is one of the most uplifting moments in trance music. "People get ready..."

Yes, Nalin & Kane have quite a track here. The extended vocal has a very strong nice pulsing, tugging bassline and shimmers with that elegant, sad ambience that laments love, attraction, the game. And even the passing seagulls sound so right in this mix. All mixes seem to have a perfect, sexual yearning embodied in the lush pads and strange sounds pushing in and out of the mix. The Baywatch Mix has a more "perfecto-esque" trancey-energetic feel. You will be blessed to encounter the Daniel Klein and Basti mix (my fave), which combines a 70s disco-y loop (very subtle and not commercial) with some very deep pads that break in right away. The signature angelic voice soars around the mix; and again, there are those seagulls!! The erie motto; "people, get ready..."

Not what you think........2001-04-25

Beachball is absolutely my favourite house song in the world. And it has been since 1996 I first heard it here in Toronto (despite that other guy who thinks it was only in Florida). Anyhoo... Every wonderful thing said in these reviews is true -- except for the CD I received from Amazon. The single is advertised as the BEACHBALL single when IN FACT it's a REMIX SINGLE. The original is nowhere to be found on the cd. The original single, which I once owned but had stolen, is an amazing CD. The one I received is okay if you're looking for remixes. But honestly, if you're looking for the original like I did -- don't buy this CD and blow money shipping it out. I'm left with the realization that it's cheaper to keep it!

What a great song. Beachball was tearin up radio and clubs during Spring Break 99 in Florida. I don't think this song was even popular outside of Florida which is crazy because eveyone down here loves it. All my boys from Jersey went back up north after spring break and couldn't find the song anywhere since nobody had ever heard of it. That's a shame because this song should have been massive everywhere.

This is my all time favourite song, a classic in the genre.

I first heard this way back in 96 when it was quite different sounding, believe me, I think there were even magpies crowing in there!

It's mesmorising and hauntingly beautiful, and certainly makes me want to drift away to the nearest beach!

But the recent mixes are fantastic. I love it so much I created a pop video for this song for a college assignment, of course the theme being beaches.

I think this is just one of those choons you'll never forget.

When old classics are re-released with new remixes, I'm usually hesitant in getting my hopes up. But I found that this release is definitely worth it, for the Level K Remix alone. Level K makes an awesome tribal, ambient, club, etc. mix: They combine all kinds of styles in one mix! The best part is they use REAL instruments for a good section of it. What sounds like Middle Eastern instruments and drums gets a sweet solo. The drum rhythm's especially great. Can't praise this mix enough.

On the original single, I used to be a big fan of the George Acosta Shadow Lounge Mix. Looks like Acosta's got some company now.
