If you like backpack music, this is your cd.......2005-08-03

This cd is making me believe again. I've been skeptical of my indie hip-hop heroes lately. Things aint the same as '97. But this cd, a team-up from one of my favorite beatsmiths, Mighty Mi, and colorful emcee Vast Aire is just so fun to listen to.

Best songs? The Workover is gorgeous, and Fighter Pilots is straight gutter

Mediocre Rap Show.......2005-07-02

Mighty Mi comes through with some nice beats, which was good to hear after High & Mighty's "Highlight Zone" disaster. Vast Aire falls flat. His lyrics don't sound thoughtful like on Cold Vein and his delivery isn't that great either. It was like he didn't even try on this album. Mighty Mi held up his end but Vast Aire failed. Could have been a great album. With that said, it is still an alright listen. If you really like either of these guys you will probably enjoy the album.

Vast Aire and Mighty Mi - The Best Damn Rap Show (Eastern Conference, 2005)

Norfeest is right, although I give this album a 3-star rating. The Best Damn Rap Show should really be called The Best Damn Beats because the production from Mighty Mi (from The High and Mighty) saves the album. As for Vast Aire, he raps okay and the punchlines are aight. He kinda sounds like an underground version of Freeway from Roc-a-fella. The only tight moment I can think of is when Tame One (formerly of Artifacts) comes and blows Vast Aire out the water on "Fighter Pilots". Sorry to anger you underground fans but this is not the best damn rap show, period. -EJR

Huh? (2.5 Stars).......2005-05-23

Do these guys have the same disc that I have? Honestly, 2.5 stars is just me being generous because the beats are dope. Lyrically, this album is more like 1.5 stars. As for X9's review, he seems to think that all things underground are dope, so he tends to exaggerate a little(check for yourself if you don't believe me). There's nothing on this album that will grab your attention because the lyrics are so mediocre. Forget about Cannibal Ox, this isn't a Cannibal Ox album. Holding on to the past glory of Cold Vein is the only way you could look at this album and see anything more than an average release.

There are a few decent joints on the album though. Actually, I can only think of two or three songs -- Fighter Pilots feat. Tame One, Vintage, & Buck 50 Express -- that are somewhat listenable. Vast Aire's rhymes are so elementary that it's almost painful to listen to at times.

The production and Tame One's guest spot are about the only things on this album that are worth hearing. I've never looked at Vast Aire as being all that great. I feel like he's incredibly overrated. His work on this album is no different. The wordplay is virtually nonexistent, his flow is god-awful, and his style is wack (in my opinion). I'd only reccomend this to die hard fans. Now that I've said my piece, bring on the unhelpful votes. I'm still gonna call it like I see it.

The return.......2005-04-21

Vast Aire has returned and has proved he is one of the sickest MC's out there. Can OX's Cold Vein was a classic, but his follow up, Look Ma No Hands, was pretty weak. He has had a rebirth on this working with Mighty. This won't dissapoint like LMNH. Be sure to check out Vordul Mega for the other half of Can OX. Also a classic.
