(Fat Beats) Not to diss their social lives, but these guys must spend a lot of time at home. It's not merely that their chittering cuts and tightly spiraled scratches suggest long bedroom exiles spent honing skills, but that they delight in making vocal samples talk to each other like an only child staging conversations between action figures. Dozens of snippets (from Nas to Method Man to Rakim, with way too many to count in between) trade boasts and competing call-outs on "Two Minute Warning" and "True Brothaz." Vinroc, Apollo and Shortkut invite some non-imaginary friends along, too: Talib Kweli rants about annoying fans on "Hip Hop Worth Dying For," which feeds a minimalist mariachi riff through a Neptunes compressor, while Black Thought reps Philly on "You Got 2." Vinroc makes the catchiest beats here (see "Hit Em Off," graced by Zion I's airy flow), offsetting the turntable virtuosity with jagged, welcome hooks.

I saw Inner Visions live in St John USVI. They were amazing. It is a rare find to have a quality roots reggae band these days when all I seem to here is dancehall. I guarnatee after one listen you will be hooked and selling them to all your friends.

Inner Visions is a seasoned and talented roots reggae band well worth a listen! Sha-La-La was a big hit in the islands; also check out Cool Reggae Rhythm, Good Lovin, Everybody Talks, etc.......I highly recommend all their music for it's positive message. Hottest reggae group I have seen in years!.......2002-07-28

Inner Visions performed reggae like I have not heard in a long time! There songs are so visionary and they sing from the heart.
Spiritual Dancer and Good Lovin just blew me away. If you have this CD, you simply must also get there CD entitled Love One Another.

I absoultely love the song "Its Just A Matter Of Time" on their "Street Corner Musicians" cd. I totally felt it and loved it! This cd is packed full of nice and sweet feel good music. Definately five stars! Inner Visions is great!

Phat and Tasty.......2005-08-20

This is a really tight band. Every melody hangs from the driving, super-compressed bass tones that are one of the signatures of this album. The horn section is great, too. In describing their music, I have repeatedly told friends it reminds me of The Tubes mixed with Earth wind and Fire. Such a cool, fresh sound. I can't imagine anyone buying this album and not loving it.

The songs from the CD One From Many by Echad have a Jewish/Spanish flavor to the music. Song Echad speaks of Jewish/Christian unity in Yeshua/Jesus. Guitars and bongos add a unique beat to Messianic music. I really liked many of the songs. Baruch Sheamar is one of my favorites, a song that "Blesses" God. It has a smooth upbeat rhythm blessing God and singing of God's mercy. The female singer has a soothing voice with background singers echoing "Baruch" I really love it. Another favorite of mine is Eitz Chayim. The words "He is the tree of life". The beat is like Klezmer music it makes you want to dance like they did in Fiddler on the Roof. The song is cheerful with the flute, drums and guitar so Jewish so much fun. The art work on the CD is also touching with a Jewish man praying at the Wall (one of the songs). I recommend this CD for its soothing and prayerful affect it has when listening to it but mostly that it honors and praises the most high God.

This album is amazing from start to finish. It's so much better than most of the stuff on the radio right now. This guy is very talented and shows major potential. The production on this record is impressive and is of the same quality level of most major label releases. I can't say enough!! If you like hip hop you will love this CD. It's just surprising to me that it's been such a well kept secret for such a long time.

I stumbled upon this album on I tunes and rushed out and grabbed the Cd. This album is tight from beginning to end. Kind of reminds me of Eminem - much better than Encore. Favorite song is Another Day. Great flows and beats. Bludshot should blow up with this album. Peace & stay crooked.

Love.......2005-08-29

I've been a huge Ember Swift fan for the last 4 years, I've been to over 15 live shows. Until this album came out, I didn't think any of her studio albums really captured the magic expressed in their live performances. This album changed all that. It is my favorite album of all time. Each song is perfect, and the lyrics actually mean something. I try to listen to this album at least once a week if not more. I would most highly suggest purchasing this album (and all the others), and seeing Ember live when she comes to your area.

something different AND great.......2005-05-03

i picked up this cd at an independent bookstore and am sooo thrilled i bought it. it is different than most music we hear today, and that will turn some people off - but having recently listened to ani difranco (a great female musician) a hell of a lot, my ears and mind were very open. i got hooked on this cd in about 2 listens! it is so much fun, and you can sing a long, and i can imagine how great live Ember must be. her words are very sincere and the music is unique and just beautiful. unfortunately i lost this cd, but i am going to just buy it again. sorry this review isnt more detailed, but like i said, i lost the cd so i can't give the review it deserves right now!

Fabulous!.......2004-09-07

Ember Swift was a very, very pleasant surprise. This folk-mistress fuses jazz, funk, and punk with poignant songwriting, fun guitar playing, and a sometimes political spin. If you have any interest at all, AT ALL with Ani DiFranco or any number of folk singers with an edge, you have got to give this girl a try. I especially loved the little french number, and H20 was terrific.

Mike Golay's second solo acoustic guitar album, titled "Across the Bridge," features a total of 18 tunes, 16 of which are original compositions, and was co-produced by Grammy-winning guitarist Al Petteway, who plays on four tracks. This very special collection of music, played on multiple instruments including a custom long-scale 6-string built by Berkowitz Guitars, a Weissenborn lap slide and a... baritone ukulele (yes, it's true, twice), took shape during Mike's travels to many disparate locations over the past few years, culminating in a very nice, rather short walk down an aisle in Boston in May of 2005. It's a happy record. We need happy these days.

Probably the best production of of all the Spider Nick CD's. I loved the punked out power of "I don't want to" and the heavy-thrusting ska tune, "Life is good". Slowly going insane is an incredibly unique song, a big departure, but I loved it. The punk medley is phenomenal...I love the french song. Wagovan is also really cool and it's great to hear "spiderman" with lyrics.
