Life Force Radio [Explicit Lyrics]
Editorial Reviews

Afu-Ra made big waves with his debut album Body of the Life Force. His follow-up, Life Force Radio, is as deep and wide as its predecessor, and should keep the MC's rep fully intact. Enlisting a wide variety of beatsmiths--Easy Mo Bee, Needles, Domingo, Woogie, Eric S, True Master, Ayatollah, and Curt Cazal--Afu has cooked up a variety of angles, mixing up the dope jazz swing of "Scat Man" and the bombastic vibe of "Hip-Hop" with the menacing Wu-scape of "Dangerous Language" and the insouciant soul feel of "Open." Lyrically, Ra brings a dynamic blend of tough street speak, Eastern mysticism, and existential anecdotes, effortlessly matching guest appearances from Big Daddy Kane, Rza (as Bobby Digital), and M.O.P--sometimes outshining them completely. If Body of the Life Force presented Afu-Ra as one of hip-hop's potentially major talents, Life Force Radio is a broad and undeniable confirmation. --Paul Sullivan

Nowhere near Body of the Life Force...but keeps underground.......2004-11-01
This album lacks the creativity, and the beats that made Body of the Life Force so good. One thing this album does continue with is Afu-Ra's skills on the mic, and his lyrics. That's why this album gets 4 stars. This ain't no commercial crap relying on pop beats to make people like it. The beats arent as good here, but the lyrics u could listen to for days and never get sick of the album. This is not anywhere near as good as Body Of The Life Force, but it's still a solid album. The best song here has got to be Perverted Monks. Afu-Ra rips it up on that track, and it probably has the best beat on the album. The other best tracks are Hip-Hop, Scat Man, Lyrical Monster, and Crossfire. If you copped Body Of The Life Force, don't expect another underground classic like that. This ain't a bad album at all, in fact it's a solid album, just the bar was set extremely high after his debut, and this did not reach it.
splitting cells in ya dome.......2004-02-09
afu ra rips it everytime when he comes out wit a record, nevertheless he does it again wit life force radio. Both body and radio are 5 stars. Lyrically he terrorizes the game even though he is not what some may say
DASHEIKS 2 CENTS: Why does this dude sound like Rebel I.N.S?.......2003-07-22
Yo, GhostFace. Remember when you said you'd approach a n***a for soundin' like you or anyone from your clan? Well this dude Afu-Ra needs some approachin'. I was lookin' for Inspector Deck on the guest star credits when i heard this dude spittin'. I can't believe this guy actually went through with the flow that he so obviously swiped from my man Rollie Fingers.
All in all, I gave this album 4 stars because it actually sounds better than Deck's new album. It's sad but true.
Please people, let's stop bitin' in Hip Hop. I mean, thats sacred rule no.1. Do not bite because it's impolite.
Peace On Earth.
Different style, same talent.......2003-02-06
When Afu-Ra released his first album "Body of the Lifeforce", he put forward, not only his incredible talent but also his desire to use melodies more widely than other hip-hop artists. The blend of these two elements was an amazingly styled album with great lyrics that made sens and exited the mainstream "Die bitch bang bang" type of lyrics.
With "Lifeforce Radio", Afu-Ra extends his grasp on the style he and Jeru the Damaja now rule on, in addition to the martial art attitude that you can expect from Afu-Ra, the album also holds a few "suprises" since some songs can seem pretty commercial like "Readjustement" and "Open" but it turns out that the album is called "Lifeforce Radio". Once you understand that these songs are in the absolute spirit of actual music radios, they totally make sens and end up being very nice to listen too.
While "Body of the Lifeforce" underground, "Lifeforce Radio" while staying undergroud takes a step out into the commercial music world.
Afu-Ra probably made the few commercial songs for the fun of it, for the kick and they turn out really good and you'll probably hear them on the radio sometime.
I seriously recomend this album to anyone that enjoys hip-hop but also likes intelligent lyrics and melodies. Afu Fans dont hesitate this is Da BOMB!
Potential in question?.......2002-11-06
"What happened to Afu/Tires flattened at the drive-thru/On lunch/Hit the sophmore slump/"Thud"/Life Force Radio's a "dud"/A letdown/Like a "Browns" fan/Mustangs and wedding rings/Like "Grant Hill" being injured again/It could have been beautiful/Has potential/But he fell through like mergers/Not enough evidence to convict him of murder/So It's borderline" - Dimpals a.k.a "Johnny Dangerously"
