Personally I loved the movie. The insight given by Laurence Fishburne's character(Furious)evened the movie out so it did not end up in the ignorant hood movie category(Think Menace To Society and Baby Boy). The soundtrack is just as memorable. Standout Tracks: HOW TO SURVIVE IN SOUTH CENTRAL, GROWIN UP IN THE HOOD(Classic CMW s***), JUST A FRIENDLY GAME OF BASEBALL REMIX(creative classic by Main Source), WORK IT OUT(shout out to Monie Love), EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND, SPIRIT, JUST ASK ME TO(I'll admit I like this one), SEPTEMBRO(Quincy Jones is a genius) and BLACK ON BLACK CRIME(and so is Stanley Clarke for this masterful score). Filler: 2 Live Crew's Hangin Out is corny as hell. Bottom Line: This soundtrack should accompany the good movie that spawned it. Minus the 2 Live Crew track, the rest of the soundtrack is every bit as memorable as the movie. Good Times!

I didnt want to give this album a chance because the first single dem boyz is kind of weak. But I gave it a shot and was a little bit surprised. Standout tracks: Felonies, No talkin, Dont put your hands on me, gangstas etc. Filler: Still slizzard, b----es and bizness, if you a thug and happy jamz. Happy jamz might have been okay if it wasnt for the dull beat and sloppy singing by jazze pha. The group's fatal flaw is the dead weight Jody Breeze. Felonies could've easily been a classic if it wasnt for Jody Breeze's non-rhyming verse. If that werent eneough he ruined P---y MFs with a verse that had nothing to do with the title. Example: I got a dame from France so freaky that she sleeps in a three point stance. Now tell me what does that have to do with p---y mfs? Nothing. Even Trick Daddy's verse was better than that. The only members that hold up this album is Big Gee, Big Duke and Young Jeezy (surprisingly!). Jody Breeze brought this album down bad! All in all this album is good but they can never touch NWA especially when one of their members (guess who? LOL) needs to step his rap game up immediately!

this cd is defintitely not one of the best i own but it is a good debut for the group n for young jeezy. it's easy to see that he is one of the best rappers in the group from the start but for a group they do well. most of the songs have the young jeezy feel to them and remind me a lot of his cd. but some are a lil bit wack. overall, it was an excellent debut for jeezy and if u like listening to his music u will enjoy this preview of the beginning of his rap career.

how all yall fools gonna come up in here calling this trash gangsta.. Kali is where the real ridas live and die notthe dirty.. DIRTY... south or the LEAST coast.. everyone since the mid 90's has bitten the west coast and this is no exception.. tha frontlinerz have a track called ''gangsta in me'' and they put it right on these so-called gangsta's callin themselves trap ni66az.. this is a joke.. like everything else and whoever said this isnt commercial.. give it up.. this record is sitting on wal-marts shelves!!! i heard this and had one serious laugh.. boyz n da hood... another example of how you suckers bite the west...

I have to agree with other reviewers because when you first hear this album the beats hook you in but after a while you start to realize the truth. You realize that a man who once brought a hip hop legend to this world of music is now bringing an army of mixed players. He's got talent in Ness and Babs and I think Jody Breeze and Duke have tons of potential but Jeezy and that other guy are way below average, see I don't even remember the other guys name cause he didn't stand out. Then he's got the no talented stars that get released and you always hear their songs and videos but where's Ness at. There's no way they can call themselves NWA and get away with it because this album is nowhere near the worth of any of NWA's albums.

Duke and Jody go hard on this debut album and if anybody is wasting their time with this group it's them. Now Diddy is trying to get even more money by stretching this half way group by adding Wayne and this proves that he really is just trying to cash in on the south. The album rest on the production, which are street bangers, but to me they get old fast and Jody and Duke's back won't be able to hold this group up for long. Even with the new addition they'll only get a bigger spot on a mainstream list and a lower spot in hip hop history but who cares about talent and respect anymore. It always has and always will be about the money and Diddy is making that clear with the release of the weak Biggie Duets.

      In Tales Don't Tell Themselves, Funeral for a Friend have penned their catchiest, most mainstream-friendly album to date. The band's previous album, 2005's Hours, saw Bridgend's emo-tinged rockers soften their sound slightly, hardcore breakdowns and shrieked metal vocals receding, and a more tuneful, melodic edge coming to the fore. On Tales, Funeral walk further down this road. There's little trace of the angry hardcore tykes who wrote songs like "The Art of American Football," but songs like "Into Oblivion (Reunion)" and the Smashing Pumpkins-tinged "Open Water" are presented with the sort of anthemic widescreen that suggest My Chemical Romance should watch their back. Elsewhere, though, there's signs of a growing songwriting maturity that might one day spring F4AF out of the punk ghetto for good: Matt Davies's lyrics reach far beyond emo's typical boy-meets-girl concerns, individual tracks linked by a narrative about a shipwrecked fisherman desperate to be reunited with his family, while the violin peaks and mighty drum rolls of "Raise the Sail" suggest Funeral for a Friend are eager to extend their musical palette.         diggin' for the underground, found this and well, it's real, that's for sure. hip-hop these days don't challenge the brain as much as it used to, with a few exceptions. leave it up to an unsigned, all white boy group from brooklyn to set the game straight. boggles my mind. they need some work, but who doesn't? with a real producer these dudes could set some trends.
