I've been listening to Z-Ro since 2001 and I've got to say, I don't understand why Scarface has put any faith in any of them other suckers he's been signing. Z-Ro is hottest asset. Z-Ro's Life of Joseph McVey was AMAZING and he followed it up with Let The Truth Be Told which should be in the Rap Hall of Fame. I don't understand why Ro isn't among the most famous rap-stars of all time, and little punk-A.B.s like T.I. and trash like Chingy, Diddy, and Lil Flip get attention when they aren't real. This boy is a man. He knows what it is to be down on your luck in the hood. He is THE FIRST REAL GANGSTA since TUPAC. I'm not telling a lie. Skip this album, and you'll skip one of the top 3 rappers of all time. Like he said, "Tupac and Biggie done died, so now they ready for the South Side."

What's the deal? All I gotta say is that boy Ro is off the chain can't nobody get on his level. I've been listening to that boy since 98 and I've been on it every since. He been to the Co (Waco) about 3 times live in concert and every song he flow'd I rapped it word for word. Everybody I know I done put them on that Ro cause they haven't even heard of him until a couple of years ago. I thought I was his #1 fan but checking out this website I see a lot of people got love for that boy. There is not one CD that don't jam. Now that my boy done signed with Rap a lot I wanna c him doin it big on the big screen, videos and shows on bet etc.

I just want to let the hold world no that Z-RO is by fore the realist rapper from Texas. If you haven't heard of him, he is somebody you need to start listen to. Every since I started listen to Z-RO I been a big fan. Everything he talk about in his music I can relate to. It's just like we lived the same struggles. Man, I've been tryin to find this forever! Got it off of THE auction site (you know which one), brand new, and this one is his rawest of his albums. THE JAM of course is the title track, and for those that DON'T KNOW, you need to check it out on DJ Screw - Blue 22. every track jams, but my favs are 4 and 14. the hardest g's are gonna love 1, 4, 5, 8, 12, and 15. what seperates this from his recent ones is the rawer production, the sound isn't as 'polished' as these new ones like 'Life', but the real g's know what i sayin.

The Empire Brass Quintet is one of the leading Brass ensembles in the world today, and this album showcases why. The Empire Brass Quintet's arrangements for trumpets, French horn, trombone and tuba, are--if not exactly period--pleasingly creative, crossing cultural and temporal boundaries with natural ease. Adding zest to the recording is the outrageously lively and exotic percussion (both acoustic and electronic) of Kurt Wortman, as well as bagpipes, drums, vocals, violin, cello, recorder and guitar provided by a host of other guest artists. This music is not meant to be historically authentic, but just plain fun. And it is! I picked this up on impulse in a bookstore because of the whimsical cover art, and it turned out to be one of my favorite purchases in years. Give it a sampling and see for yourself!

Problems with audio mixing.......2002-07-03

The audio mixing engineer did a terrible job on this one. The drummer sounds like he was placed in a large empty hall with the microphone 2 inches away. His rat-a-tat completely overwhelms the music.

Make your baby boogie!.......1999-10-01

The songs on this album are a delicious swirl of brass, drums, and bagpipes. My one-year-old can't resist bouncing and jiggling along with the music, which makes me love it even more. Their rendition of "Amazing Grace" gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, which is pretty often! The songs have a festive feel, making this a great alternative to the stereotypical selections on most holiday CDs.

Another great album from Z-Ro - 4.5 stars.......2007-07-12

I'm still rather new to Z-Ro, having only got my first album of his in late 2005, since then I now own 5 of his album, and everyong is a great album, King of da Ghetto being no exception. This is the only pre Rap-A-Lot album of his I own (I will be getting a few more), and it's just as good as any of his other one, if not better. Definitely one of the best rappers from the south, or in that case in all of rap. His flow is great, his stories, songs, and lyrics are great and often very deep and personal. On this one you get 13 songs, I'd say 2 are almost classic material (and botha re Z-Ro solos), 2 or 3 are ok, and the rest are good or real good sogns. Guests are on 9 of the songs, and other then his A.B.N. mate/cousin Trae, I never heard of any of the others. No production credits are given, but only 1 or 2 songs is it average, the rest are godd or great. A must have album.

you must have this cd in your collection.... z-ro is cold when he rhymes and this aint no lie... i actually have 2 copies of this album just in case i lose one... he is cold like that... this is a must get cd and im not lying to you... he is truly talented and i promise you , you will be getting your money's worth out of it... it jams from beginning to end... show him some love and support and pick this up if you dont already own one right along with a few others!!!

King Of Da Ghetto diserves 10 stars. I swear every album this man puts out seems to over-satisfy. Z-ro's Lyrics are strong and realer than tha rest. And the rest of tha G-maab aint far behind. KOTG is an H-town southern classic. From "I Found Me" to "Real Niggaz" to "sunshine" this album is golden. This is probably my favorite Z-ro album if I had to choose one. Get it if you dont have it.

Great Artist, Deep Lyrics............2004-12-13

Z-RO is probably one of the best rappers ever to hit the game. (He doesnt get the credit he deserves). If i could give this cat the money he deserves i sho would. His lyrics can never be duplicated, (like tupac) and they are extremely deep along with created cleverly and accurate.

Buy Every CD that has come out by Z-RO. In one sentence, Z-Ro has lyrics deep as tupacs, and amazing production all put together to be one of the best rap albums out.

Man Z-ro be doing his thing. He is off tha hook. He is a great rapper and this cd is one of his best. I love tha fact that he represents tha dirty south. I also like the fact that he includes females in his songs. That tight you dont hear that alot. Shout outz to that BaYtoWN!! DirtYBay!! Shout out to Cleo, Alma Christina Shark, Jaime and Tony!!

To me, this is tha tightest Z-Ro solo album released. Tha only thing I aint like about it was that it's only 13 tracks, and one is tha outro. As far as Guerilla Maab related releases, I think this is ranked #2 below "Guerilla Maab - Rise" (I ain't heard "Year of the Underdawgs" yet). My favorites are #1, #3, #5, #6, #8, #10, #12 and #13. And there's one or two more that I like. As you see, that's tha almost tha whole album. Even tha piano outro is tight. If you dont wanna buy it jus from my review, at least preview it somewhere.

Z-Funk.......2007-05-14

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic created "P-Funk" in the 1970s and Snoop Dogg gets credit for bridging that sound with hip hop in the '90s, thus creating "G-Funk".

After vibin' to chopped & screwed version of "Let The Truth Be Told" with its mostly funk-heavy beats under Z-Ro's syrupy, deep-voiced laid back gangsta rhymes, I think he just may have created an updated version of Snoop's signature sound.

I've yet to hear Z-Ro's other albums (yet) b/c I'm not a native Houstonian but this album sounds straight up like a retro, 1970s album with its funky feel. Great, great production but Z-Ro's rhymes shine brightest and carry that contemporary millennium hip hop sound.

His smooth delivery make this album very easy to listen to which is why I'd describe his style as Snoop but with a more gangsta twist -- at least that's my take (lol).

I did hear his earlier works are harder than this but "Let The Truth Be Told" is mellow by my standards. This album really ain't hard but it's gangsta if you listen 2 what Z-Ro's sayin. He came from nothin so he's real like that which is what I believe most Z fans like about his music.

Z-Ro's not gon' make you dance so this album may or may not be for all hip hop/rap music fans.

Me personally, I actually prefer more head-nodder, vibe-type hip hop you can listen 2 all the way through and get a sense of where the rapper's head is @ as opposed 2 the dance-heavy, party-heavy music the radio overplays. So I feel Z-Ro on many levels! He's an H-Town legend just like Koopa, Slim Thugga, Mike Jones, Flip, Lil KeKe and Paul Wall though I'm not sure he has the commercial appeal 2 sell 2 a national audience (we got u though).

Anyway, "Respect My Mind", this trance-like slow jam that samples Sade's "Cherish the Day" is my joint on this LP. I could listen to this track all day long.

Props 2 "From the South" with Paul Wall -- my intro to Z-Ro (late, I know) -- and "It's a Shame", a track I'd describe as a grimier version of Chamillionaire's 2006 crossover pop hit "Ridin' Dirty."

I believe this is one of the best rap albums ever to come out. PERIOD. Not just Z-Ro's best but the best out of a lot of people. Z-Ro just keep doing your thing.

Zro, like usual bring's heat and keep it hood. So if your looking for some candy paint, neon light's glowing, and grill and ice talk, you wont find it here.... But you will find slammin gangsta beats a blend, of south and west caost, style manily if you ask me.... His lyrics relfect on stuff he's personally been threw or seen happened to others.... So if you like kinda more 90's g rap ( the golden age of rap) when rap was good and talk, about real life, and not clubbing and singing love songs to the ladies" this is for you then"...... Oh for record T.I. aint no king of the south when scarface and the gheto boys been doing this since the late 80's....
I'll give T.I. tha king of bubble gum fake gangsta rap anytime....( how can u be gangsta when you make cookie cuter songs for the ladies and trl jams that's not gangsta) You think real hood rappers like Brotha lynch hung, mc eiht, spice 1, celly cel, c-bo,yukmouth, crime boss, gangsta nip. al kapone, gangsta pat, etc.... artist like that are going to lean with and rock and snap there fingers get out here....

z-ro is hot like fire... his name rings like bells down here in texas... if you know real than you should know the music of z-ro. this cat is talented and speaks da truth! I LOVE Z-RO TO DEATH AND WOULD BUY ANYTHING HE APPEARS ON!!! he dont rap about how much bling he got like some artists brag about constantly... he speaks about life and the things you go through with family and friends. my opinion is that he is the best rapper alive and thats what i mean and what i say and how i feel.. this cd goes hard just like the rest of the cds he got out!!! i promise you , you will not regret buying this or any other cds cause he spits out nothing but real talk!!!

Look this cd is tight. This cat isn't like Paul Wall, who raps about having diamonds in his bookers or chain so long kids can jump rope with it. Yall stop buying rap that is garbage and pick up a real cd and support real rappers. Yall listen to too much commerical stuff and think most of it is hip hop. It is hip not so if you are real then you recognize real. If you are not then keep buying the Dike Jones, Paul Wall, and Cowboy Troy or whatever that cat name is. If a rapper has to be wack to have people support his album then I might come out with as a rapper knowing that people like yall who don't know hip hop would make me rich. I would be rapping about having gold toliet seats and carrots like Bugs Bunny. Well, anyways yall get the picture this cat is real so listen to the cd it is tight.
