1 out of 5 stars Mobb deep been fell off since murda muzik.......2007-05-28

Okay Mobb deep's"amerikaz nightmare" is simply boring production wise and lirycaly wise as it is the same case with "murda muzik", "infamy", and specialy "blood money" thats where you know mobb sleep is officialy done...When mobb came out with juvinele hell i thought it was iight kinda weak but then the infamous came and my opinion about them changed... Great beats , lirycs and straight hip-hop then hell on earth came out which was just raw and dark as it got and p's lirycs were the sickest... But after 2 years hiatus and the release of murda muzik they went downhill the song wid cormega whats ya poison is tight but other then that the mobb jus fell off and signing with g unit ?Change songs like hell on earth, apostle warning, blood sport, survivel of the fittest, party is over, to have a party, daydreamin, outta control, its already and im not even going to mention their song titles on the infamy, murda muzik, amerikaz nightmare cause it makes me sick...Just look at the song title changes from the old to the new and how raw and original it was to how it is now. I wont be surprised if mobb deep goes bankrup along with the rest of the gay unit fa ggotz! Just my opinion peace out! e!

4 out of 5 stars Amerikaz Mos Wanted.......2007-02-27

Queens, New York's Mob heads out on their sixth album, Amerikaz Nightmare. Staying true to their roots with gangster and violent contents with menacing looped tracks they haven't slowed down or strayed away from. Nine of the sixteen tracks were produced by member Havoc as he supplied the canvas for the group. This album begins with the title track with deep, dark instruments accompanied by wind effects. The graphic lyrics from the duo tell the mentality of the album also its overall concept. One of four produced tracks produced by The Alchemist on "Win Or Lose" as Mobb Deep appears in rare form sharing verses that compliments the track. The hook on "Flood The Block" was the highlight of this tune as the repititious one key played throughout the song. "Dump" featuring Nate Dogg is a song to get the adrenaline flowing as Nate's performance tone down the aim of the shooting subject. Both versions of "Got It Twisted" wasn't aim to be a club banger, but the Mobb showed their talents to make a near horror Alchemist track upbeat with lyrics from Havoc as "...peel snowflake out of that Ambercrombre / I'm tryin' ta rip Britney, so I made Jive sign me..." As "When U Hear The" continues the gloomy feel of the LP with an organ as its key element. Changing the weather briefly on "Real Niggaz" Prodigy showed style with a pausing flow emphasing on the lyrics. Upbeat with a bounce by repeating the rhyming words on "Shorty Wop" for a head nodder. As one of the highlights of the album "Real Gangstaz" featuring and produced by Lil' Jon for a Southern feel as the hook bounced parallel with the whistle effect that meshed well with the following "One Of Ours Part II" featuring Jadakiss with the swift moving high hat. As simplicity is the foundation for the Mobb, "We Up" and "Get Me" featuring Littles & Noyd it proved to be a perfect angle as each emcee added flavor for perfection. Mobb Deep's Amerikaz Nightmare is a violent, dark action movie in audio with vivid descriptions of street life. The foundation sometimes is what brought the album down that sometimes will sway this album from a three to a four star LP.

5 out of 5 stars The Nightmare.......2007-01-06

(All I can say is awesome! Of the entire CD, there were only two songs that can be skipped, but has incredible replay value. From the first track, "Americaz Nightmare", Mobb Deep dropped it raw. The version of "One Of Ours" is just as good as the original and "Throw Your Hands" is a classic. Alchemist did his job on "When U Hear The", "Win or Lose" and the classic "Got It Twisted". Havoc also did his job producing the tracks "Americaz Nightmare", "One of Ours", "Get Me". Kanye dropped a classic on "Throw Your Hands" and altogether an awesome work. Guest artists like Twista, the Infmaous Mobb, Nate, and Jadakiss ripped their parts. Altogether, an awesome piece of work!)

2 out of 5 stars Not amerikaz nightmare just ours!.......2006-09-13

I got to give it Mobb Deep. They were able to give you 5 good albums which is three more than what you get from other rap groups that we put on a pedestal. Now for the heartbreaker. This album was not a preview that M o b b would not be the same. HNIC by Prodigy was a sign of the times when songs like Keep it Thoro and Genesis were the only tracks where you got to hear the old Prodigy. Plus the features with Havoc were nothing to brag about. This album is a continuation of that. Standout tracks:TWISTED(original and remix), REAL GANGSTAS, THROW YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR, ONE OF OURS(Jadakiss shuts it down disrespectfully!), WHEN U HEAR THE and AMERIKAZ NIGHTMARE. Filler: Neva Change, win or lose, shorty wop, Real N---az, flood the block, get me and the rest of the album. Prodigy's verses are nothing to write home about and Havoc's verses are mediocre at best. Infamy was 100x better than this album even though Havoc floored Prodigy on every other song. They had enough bangers to make it a classic but this album is below average. Nice beats(Every beat is tight on here) and soso rhymes from Havoc are not enough to make a GROUP album a classic! Where is Prodigy with his traditional laid back but acidic flow? I was hesitant to pick this album up now im wishing I never brought it at all. After hearing this album, the free agents mixtape and Blood Money I will never pick up another Mobb Deep album again!

4 out of 5 stars It's alright.......2006-05-28

Believe the other reviews when they say this ain't like their earlier albums. Next to those this really aint nothin at all. The beats is whats's bangin the most. All most all these beats can light up any house party. I just feel like Prodigy isn't spittin for broke like he usually do. Some tracks he spittin fire, and some he sound like he tired of do'in this s***. A few more features would have definitely helped, but good album anyway.

3 out of 5 stars Solid, but no "The Infamous" (3.5 stars).......2005-07-18

My review title says it all. If you're looking for an album to get into Mobb Deep, then this is what you need. But if you've been a long time fan, you might be a little disappointed. Not being a long time fan of Mobb Deep, I can say that I enjoy this album, it's a solid release from one of rap's most consistent groups. Havoc and Prodigy deliver average lyrics AT BEST, compared to their exceptional previous work, and the production is slightly bland, but the album is 16 tracks of pure gangsta rap - no lazy skits or interludes, and it's solid enough that you can listen to it from front to back.

Standout tracks include - The epic "Win Or Lose", with a sample-driven beat from The Alchemist, "Flood The Block", "Dump" featuring Nate Dogg, "Got It Twisted", "One of Ours" featuring Jadakiss and "Throw Your Hands (In The Air)" produced by Kanye West. The few areas where the album falls flat are tracks that don't belong anywhere, such as "Real N****z" and the radio-friendly Lil' Jon-produced track, "Real Gangstaz." There's no place on a Mobb Deep record for a Lil' Jon track. The rest is so-so.

"Amerikaz Nightmare" is definately one of 2004's best rap releases, which isn't saying much really, but it's still worth checking out, strictly for some classic Havoc and Prodigy action.
