Kill at Will [EP]

Editorial Reviews

A seven-track postscript to AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted (built around a remix of that album's "Endangered Species," with a blistering new verse by Chuck D.), and a booming car tape for short drives, this is why people thought gangsta rap was a good idea at the time. It's got a certain amount of filler and goofiness (like "Jackin' For Beats," with Cube kicking it over a bunch of famous grooves), but it's also got some great quick-cut music from Sir Jinx and the Bomb Squad, and two of the darkest, toughest, truest tracks Cube's ever done: "The Product," a scathing indictment of the system that destroys America's underclass, and "Dead Homies," a clear-eyed look at the aftermath of violence. --Douglas Wolk

4 out of 5 stars Cube Was On A Roll {4 Stars}.......2006-07-27

This album came out during a period in which Ice Cube simply couldn't do any wrong. Everything he dropped was golden and Kill At Will was no exception. Though it was only 6 tracks deep (JD's Gafflin' Pt. 2 is an interlude), it was just as strong as, if not stronger than, a lot of the other 1990 rap albums. Classics like "Dead Homies" and "Jackin' For Beats" make grabbing this a good idea, but there are also great tracks like "The Product" and "Endangered Species" [Remix] that make this a must have album.

As with most dope albums, the only thing I can find wrong is the short length, but it's an EP so......

Kill At Will is probably one of the better EPs out there in the rap world. This was back when Cube was on a roll and dropped dope album after dope album every year. It plays more like a b-side to Amerikkka's Most Wanted, but I'd say that that's a good thing. If you want to hear what Ice Cube sounded like when he was still hungry, then I recommend grabbing this if you can find it.

Standout Tracks: The Product, Jackin' For Beats, Dead Homies, Endangered Species [Remix] feat. Chuck D, and Get Off My D**k And Tell Yo B**ch To Come Here [Remix]

4 out of 5 stars Cube Jackin' Fo Killz!.......2005-11-07

Kill At Will was released in 1991 the same year of his over r8ed Death Certificate, the song that got me into Cube's Kill At Will was his song Jackin' For Beats which had a tight music video to it, and in Cube's video it had Chuck D (Public Enemy) & Da Lynch Mob in it to! Dead Homiez is a sad-opressed hood song about Cube going to his own friends funerals. Good Album for only 7 songs!

Best songs are 1(feat. Public Enemy), *2, 3, 5 & 7.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect!.......2005-06-05

GET OFF MY D*CK AND TELL YO B*TCH TO COME HERE Remix +5/5
Another remix, I love it, it's basically an extended version of the original one from his "AmeriKKKa's most wanted"
THE PRODUCT +5/5

Here, Cube shows sadness, about some late friends and family
JD'S GAFFILIN' Pt. 2 N/A
Just an skit
I GOTTA SAY WHAT UP!!! +5/5
Another unreleased song I love it
As you can see this is well produced, Buy it, it's a classic, and If you are a Cube fan, then go on and pick one!

5 out of 5 stars GOOD ALBUM FOR 1990.......2004-11-04

NOTHING REALLY GOOD CAME OUT IN 1990 AND IF IT WAS GOOD THIS WOULD BE ONE OF THE FEW ALBUMS. THIS IS LOADED WITH PLENTY OF OLD SCHOOL BEATS AND A STYLE THAT CUBE STILL USES TODAY. GET THIS ALBUM IF YOU ARE ESPECIALLY INTO THE OLD SCHOOLB STYLE AND.

4 out of 5 stars Some product..........2003-08-04

Even weighing in at just EP length, this was one Ice Cube release that needed to be released. Overall more even than "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted", and it features 2 of his best tunes: his requiem for gang peace--"Dead Homiez", and a mix-master classic--"Jackin' For Beats."
