Comprised of 12 tracks pulled from the Death Row Records rubble, this is the album that Snoop Dogg doesn't want you to hear. Why? Because these songs come straight from the studio floor. Disrespectfully titled Dead Man Walking by imprisoned Death Row president Suge Knight, the album hashes together unreleased and early versions of cuts from Snoop's Doggfather and No Limit Top Dog eras. "Head Doctor" features uncredited guest vocals from Raphael Saadiq and Tha Dogg Pound make saving appearances on the keyboard- and snare-driven "Tommy Boy" and "Cee Walkin'." The slow dragging funk of "Too Black" offers a hypnotic jazz feel. But the album's best offering is "Change Gone Come," with its eerie synthesizers and rippling bass line. If you want everything Snoop this ain't bad. But for the nonfanatic, there just isn't enough cream in this crop. --Kenji Jasper

A boring collection of rejected Snoop Dogg songs.......2007-05-15
Is there any point to owning this collection of rejected work that even Snoop Dogg himself didn't want released? Unless you're a hardcore fan of Doggy Dogg, then no. Some of the songs, like 'Too Black', 'County Blues', and 'Change Gon Come' are aiight... but that's only because the rest of the album is whack and forgettable. There's a reason why Snoop Dogg didn't want this album released, the vast majority of the songs on here are bland and forgettable. Skip it.
The 3 Stars Are NOT For Snoop Read Below---.......2007-05-06
This album is not a new (for 2000)album between Top Dogg and Last Meal; this is a collective of older material. Believe it or not, the songs are dope to classic Snoop Dogg, but if all the reading I did is correct, this album was released without Snoop's desire (perhap's Death Row's Snoop Doggy Dogg's Greatest Hits was too), perhaps by Death Row's faltering empire trying to squeeze out as much money as possible. The songs are dope though, and the music is not why this album garners a 3 star rating. I respect Snoop Dogg's legacy, and if I found out about this before buying this I would just have to refuse buying this make due without classic tracks like "Hit Rocks" a real Snoop banger with a fantastic G-Funk beat, and "Change Gone Come" and the bouncy upbeat feel of bangers like "May I" gangstger inflected "Gangsta Walk." The beats on this album are hot as are the songs which remind the listener of the old Snoop, the loccest crip outta LBC with that laid back flow. The 3 stars are for the good music, and the missing 2 stars are for the rip-off of Snoop's music. If I'da known it, I probably would of passed this on in support of Snoop.
Do Not Buy This.......2006-10-14
To be honest I did buy this, but when I found out who I had supported I kicked myself. The songs are great which is why I gave it four stars but do not support Suge Knight!!! Suge Knight is a horrible person and is very likely resonsable for Tupac's death, and to get his hands on peoples hard earned money he whips up stuff like this. Download this because all the songs are great but do not support Suge Knight by buyi ng this or any other money making propaganda his selling.
VINTAGE SNOOP DOGGY DOGG!!!.......2006-08-28
Thats right I said it vintage Snoop Doggy Dogg not this commercial weirdo(Snoop Dogg)that we are hearing today. This is his best album next to Doggystyle and this makes Doggfather a distant memory. Snoop still had that excellent flow he had on his very first album before he traded it for the lethargic style of rapping he has now. Standout tracks: MAY I, C-WALKIN, TOMMY BOY, CHANGE GONE COME, GANGSTA WALK, TOO BLACK, MY FAVORITE COLOR, I WILL SURVIVE, HIT ROCKS, HEAD DOCTOR etc. Filler: County Blues sounds very awkward and the cheesy harmonica doesnt make things any better for the song. All in all this is a classic that makes every one of Snoop's albums that came after Doggfather a distant memory. No wonder he is mad about Suge putting this album out! Suge is putting out his best work while he is putting out his worst!
Great Snoop Doggy Dogg.......2006-07-11
This is a collection of unreleased Snoop from his Deathrow days and i'm very glad that they made this. Snoop lost his talent after he left Deathrow and started making albums that just don't last. However I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm very happy that Snoop gave us this treasure. these songs were unreleased but they are definitely not bottom of the barrel material. The album kicks of with May I which is a favourite of mine and a great start to the album then follows on with great other tracks like C-Walkin, Head Doctor, Too Black, Gangsta Walk, County Blues, My Favourite Color, Me And My Doggs and more great tracks.
Maybe its just because Snoop was really focused back then and didn't make any bad songs. If you like this you will have to like the other Snoop Doggy Dogg albums like The Chronic, Doggysytle, Murder Was The Case Soundtrack, Tha Doggfather and Death Row's Snoop Doggy Dogg's Greatest Hits.
They made this to end an era, the era of Snoop Doggy Dogg click add to cart now, do not alow yourself to miss some of Snoop's best work.

Album Description
It's a testament to Snoop Dogg's skills as a rapper that he can voice some of the same politically incorrect sentiments as his West Coast hip-hop peers without receiving the same kind of public outcry. The reason for this is that Snoop's delivery is so perfectly understated and ostensibly devoid of malice that it's hard to emotionally connect the vocalist with the more disturbing aspects of his chosen subject matter. This phenomenon is evident throughout Dead Man Walkin almost more than on any of Snoop's previous releases. From both his tone and his tales, one gets the distinct impression that sustained access to 'The Chronic' is more important to Snoop's mindset than the sexual braggadocio of 'Head Doctor' or the tough talk of 'Gangsta Walk'. Make no mistake, though; this doesn't detract from his image or credibility one iota. In fact, it's probably why we love him. Death Row. 2006.
