Sweeter than Yoo-Hoo.......2006-01-05
Adeem (pronounced ADM) has recently become one of my favorite rappers. As a two-time Scribble Jam battle winner, Adeem as proven to the masses that he's a worthy adversary in the hip-hop world. Despite the brief fame, the New Hampshire emcee is still having problems getting hip-hop heads to wake up. Frankly, it baffles me. "Sweet Talking Your Brain" is among my favorites in his discography. His flow is fresh and rhythmic, honest and sincere, soulful and passionate, intelligent and street-smart. The production is also unique and packed with interesting ideas.
The production follows Adeem's flow and mood. He dictates the rhythm which really makes it a more interesting listen. "Fade Away" is a fine example of Adeem's endearing attitude playing sweetly with the production. "Entising (From A Distance)" is a major turning point in the album. It starts off with a 4-minute riveting philosophy lesson from Adeem, then transitions in some soothing ambient music where it then picks up. It leads beautifully into the next cut "Circulation". The album just gets better from this point on.
"Sweet Talking Your Brain" is packed with enthralling beats and lyrics, which is actually much deeper than some of his other work. If you are more interested in his sick battle rhymes, I would suggest picking up The Dorian Three "Down World, Up Songs" (2004). He teams up with battle-mate Adverse and his usual producer DJ MF Shalem to create one of the dopest album's I've heard from the underground (you won't find this on Amazon...maybe one day). If you are into underground hip-hop, you owe it to yourself to discover Adeem.

Not as good as Glue but a worthy effort. It's hard to hear what Adeem is saying; the beats stand out more than the lyricist here. I would recommend this for the die-hard fans who want everything Adeem is on. Otherwise, cop Glue's Sunset Lodge and Adeem & Shalem's Transitions. Adeem's going nowhere but up from here, Glue's 2006 release will no doubt be even nicer than these records. You can get Adeem and Glue's stuff for cheap at Shakeitrecords.com, visit their site too (Ramonarecords.com).

This artist is original and a good guy from a small town. Look for him in the future he's still getting out. I'm not a big fan of eminem, but his vocals are similar, but they work, and with his unique lyrics and amzing sound, he certainly deserves more. He put out a new album thats even better called "Seconds Away" and I'm not possitive where its sold expt in Keene, NH, there's a place called "Turn It Up" and I'm sure they'd send you a copy. I'm happy you took the time to read this review about one of the only artists on this sight that haven't sold out.
Peace.
