Alright well.........2005-04-02
I was a little confused on how to perceive this guy when I first heard him. Apparently this cat is Ivy league educated, he's done tracks with MF Doom(and we all love MF DOOM), and he's got Prince Paul backing him. The content of this cd is pretty amusing and funny although I'm sure more than a few heads are gonna turn this away when they hear his voice. Seriously, when I first heard him spit a few years back, I thought it was a joke, even though I think he intended for his style to come off in a jokingly manner. I'll say this, I definitely think his style grows on you after a few spins. I would just recommend you take a listen to a few tracks before you make a purchase. I gave it a 3, but I think a 3.5 would be a more deserving score. I feel like the reviews on this cd need to more balanced because it is not a perfect cd as many are claiming to be. It is a breath of fresh air, but not a classic.

This is the worst cd I have ever bought. His lyrics and style are just weak. Save your money. I should have bought the new Hanson album, I would have been more satisfied with that.
The Joy of Your World Is...Paul Barman.......2004-06-17
(First off, don't buy this here. $35 is too much for this 15 minute masterpiece, when you can find it easily everywhere for about $11 or $12.)
Thank Prince Paul for bringing us -- MC Paul Barman.
The first and most orginial Jewish rapper and ivy-league college graduate (Brown University.)
MCPB comes with a immature, clever, and interesting lyrical style, and Prince Paul masterfully puts together beats that compliment Barman's style and content.
BUT BE FOREWARNED--Barman is not for everyone. He is probably someone that you will either find to be one of the most original and clever underground rappers in recent history, or you'll just think that he is the whackest rapper in history.
He also, has a great guest appearance on the track "MTV Get Off the Air, Part 2" (named after the Dead Kennedys' song)with Princess Superstar.
The only bad part of the album is that it only lasts 15 minutes; but it is good, b/c it will leave you wanting more.
THIS KAT IS WACK!.......2002-12-14
spit-fire flow but damn his voice says it all, just look at dude, shoulda left his MC'n in his basement, dont buy nor even download these tracks, end of story
The name in all caps is MCPB..........2002-08-14
My boss pulls me aside at work and slaps a pair of headphones across my scalp. In the next instant my ears are delighted to hear MC Paul Barman's stylings in the song, "The Joy Of Your World." He then told me that is was this guy named Paul Barman and it has scarce left my cd player since. I also force all my friends to listen to it when in my car, most of them dig it on their own now... I suggest you do too.
