Customer Reviews:
Hip Hop In A Class Of Its Own.......2006-02-20
I am not much of a fan of hip hop in of itself. However, when I heard a few samples I thought I would give this one a try. After wearing this CD into the ground and "The Standard" I am ready for another release. Psyche Origami is a solid blend of hip hop and electronica (with a little house and acid jazz mix). It keeps a solid beat but has some very soothing sounds that you would expect from artists like Fat Jon. Kudos to Adult Swim for publicizing Psyche Origami.
What Hip-Hop Should Be!!!!!.......2005-07-29
The first time I've heard music from Psyche Origami was from a Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Even though they were just clips, I still though they were awesome! This album has exceeded my expectations and now Psyche Origami is my favorite hip-hop group! Because they use the exchange of the MC and the DJ, this shows how innovative they are and what hip-hop should be!
GOD THANK YOU FOR PSYCHE O!.......2005-07-18
i didn't buy this here. i got it at the tower records here in atlanta...well....buckhead...technically...but even still, this cd is the best hip hop album i've bought in the last year, for SURE. the dj's on here are superb (you can catch their promo for samurai champloo on adult swim), the emcee is so dope its almost painful, and the production is perfect for my tastes. if you love hip hop, buy this now....also, get Collective Efforts - Trail Mix, here on amazon....also anything by Minamina Goodsong.....werd.
Good Great & Better.......2005-06-08
I personally am sad to admit i have not yet bought this album, but i have previwed it, and as soon as i get a job i'll be all over this album like the fuzz on a black man. I used to think most if not all rap was pretty sh*t about two years back, but i found out its usually whatever is popular that sucks. Psyche Origami has some d@mn good lyrics, and original beats and well they're just great. If anyone knows any other bands that have a sound simular or something different but still cool, tell me. I know jurassic 5, sage francis, blackalicious, and those are just a few, but yeah, comment if you know some good music and willing to share.
Psyche O!!!.......2005-05-19
Psyche Origami is the perfect blend of DJing and MCing coming straight out of Atlanta. When I say perfect, I mean that every member, Wyzstyk, Dainja and Synthesis all get the job done together, 100%, not one standing out above the rest. Wyzstyk's rhymes just simply flow, with very entertaining word play. And two DJs only means twice the awesome beats, which is what you get from "Is Ellipsis". Every track is great, with all types of beats and funky, and somewhat odd samples, such as "Nuff Teeth". The standout tracks, which you might have heard, and just didn't know it, on Adult Swim are "At Last" and "Dead Right". But these are just two songs off their debut album. Truthfully, there is only one song I would call a little mediocre, and that would be "Eye Detector", but that in no way takes away anything from the album. In fact, I'm almost afraid that Psyche O maight have put everything good out too fast, and left themselves with nothing on their next album. After seeing these guys live several times, and listening to the album 30+ times, there's a lot to expect from Psyche Origami, and I don't think anyone will be disappointed.
