3.5 STARS.........HIT OR MISS FOR ME TOO.......2007-03-01

when i heard this album when it first came out, i thought it was gonna be that elevation because of the title cut, but i was wrong. the4 lot of this is subpar at best. however, i do love the muggs remix of AIN'T GOT NO CLASS along with the title cut. ice cube sort of saves this album on certain cuts, but as a whole, i really do not think too much of this album. it is one of those things where they could've done better.

Hit & Miss.......2007-02-15

This album is a bit of a hit-or-miss for my taste. "Guerillas In Tha Mist" and "Freedom Got An AK" are cool jams with some street cred, but the other tracks are not quite as catchy. Ice Cube definitely stands out as the tone-setter, and the album definitely has his flavor... but, something seems to be missing in the album to make it one of the better ones. You'd be better off finding an Ice Cube compliation album if you want more of the street-cred tracks.

A Must Have Classic!.......2006-11-10

I have both "Guerillas In Tha Mist" and "Planet Of Da Apes", and while both CD's are some of West Coast's at its finest, "Guerillas In Tha Mist" really stands the test of time. Both CD's are in my car changer at all times. This CD is real, and the issues rapped about were as legit in 1992 as they are today (unfortunately). Bangin' bass, kickin' drums, and three angry men plus Ice Cube equals one hard CD. I bang some songs off of this CD on the bar jukebox, and the younger crowd always ask me "who IS this?!" It would seem that the "old school" sound still has it. This CD is not for the meek. If you are white, and you can't laugh at yourself, then don't buy this CD. Racism abounds on this CD, and it's a little weird being on the receiving end of it, being a poor preppy white boy in living in small-town, USA. All in all, this CD is must have for any West Coast fan. Trust me, as I have had to replace stolen copies three times now! ;) Buy "Planet Of Da Apes" too! "Menace II Society" is also a good purchase as "Guerillas Ain't Gangstas" is one of my favorite Lench Mob tracks.

Hits Hard On Every Level.......2006-09-03

This album is hard hitting from the production to the lyrics to the overall mood of the artists themselves. This album addressed many of the issues that were prevalent at the time, many of which still exist today. Standout tracks: the title track Guerillas In Tha Mist, Who You Gonna Shoot?, Ankle Blues - but there really isn't a bad track on the album. On par with Ice Cube's Death Certificate and just as controversial this is a must for any rap collection.

Another underrated rap group.......2006-08-25

When I first purchased this album I fell in love with it at first listen. It has all the ingredients of a classic: social and political commentary, crazy beats and a thought provoking intro. Standout tracks: BUCK THA DEVIL, FREEDOM GOT AN AK, LORD HAVE MERCY, ANKLE BLUES, WHO YOU GONNA SHOT WITH THAT, GUERRILAS IN THE MIST, LOST IN THE SYSTEM etc. Filler: Aint got no class is destroy by B Real's annoying nasal sounding voice. Minus this one track this album is better than any of these trashy hip pop bands that we have to suffer through today(black eyed piss, dookie4life dem franchise fags etc. Ice Cube's protege's didnt disappoint on this one.
