Rock N Roll Gangster [Explicit Lyrics]
Editorial Reviews

Fieldy is the first member of Los Angeles nu metal forerunners Korn to release a solo project. Rock N Roll Gangster, however, isn't likely to thrill Korn fans who dig that band's primal lyrical angst and down-tuned musical attack, nor will it likely earn the bassist a new legion of admirers. Over the course of 17 hip-hop tracks, Fieldy delivers short, basic cuts of seemingly autobiographical boasting, including the self-referential "Baby Hugh Hef" and a pointless 21-second Korn-penned instrumental. The bassist's rapped vocals are in sharp contrast to Korn compatriot Jonathan Davis, who supplies an edgy vocal passion to "Just for Now." The best tune, "Child Vigilante," borrows from Whodini's "Freaks" for a fuller sound than most of the album's offerings, while Tre from Pharcyde pumps up "Sugar-Coated," making the Fieldy-only cuts paler in comparison. Rock N Roll Gangster makes it apparent why Fieldy isn't the frontman for Korn. --Katherine Turman

Decent attempt!.......2007-04-20
Sadly Fieldy's actual voice is his problem. He seems to be okay at his flow and has some good background music. The reason I give this is a 3 is because Jonathan Davis sings in Just For Now and has an amazing chorus (like usual). I love Korn they are my favorite band. Do What I Feel was another decent song. Of course he has someone else singing in it besides just him! Another song "Are you talking to me" has a female rapper, who outshines him with her very few lines. She could really make a pretty good album herself. HA! If you like Korn, you will at least like having this as part of your collection. I actually listen to the song with Jonathan Davis a decent amount. Also, 5 songs are 20 seconds or less. 2 of them feature guitar from Brian Welch (Head) which are good, but you will be disappointed to learn they are extremely short. One Love is noteworthy. Anyways to sum this all up.
If they made "Are You Talkin to Me" with Helluva (I think that's her name) and only her rapping...then had those short 20 second songs from Brian actual like 2 minute length guitar solos, put Just For Now as the main theme, and "Do What you Feel" had Fieldy sing better...this CD would have probably gotten a 5 and have made a very decent amount of money with Korn fans.
Sweet as my moma,.......2005-09-10
take away my drama.... I love that song. Its my favorite in the whole album. Im gonna give Fieldy some credit for trying out other styles of music. We all know that Fieldy is a gangster at heart and also loves hip hop. Give the poor guy a break. He just wanted to try something new outside of KoRn. Thank you
Should have stuck with Korn.......2005-08-17
I am a big fan of Korn, and I will be the first to admit that Fieldy really sucks on this album. His talent is much more needed in Korn and I don't think he really deserves a rap career. The ONLY reason I am giving this two stars is because of the song with Jonathan Davis (Just For Now). Other than that, no self respecting Korn fan should buy this...unless your an avid collector of Korn items (like myself).
GOOD CD TO BE HIS FIRST.......2005-03-10
WELL I LOVE KORN AND I LOVE ALL DIFFERENT KIND OF MUSIC. AND HONESTLY FIELDY'S LYRICS HAS SOME MEANING TO IT. I SAY HES BETTER RAPPIN THAN MOST RAPPERS KNOW A DAYS. INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING ABOUT FIELDY WHY DONT YALL COMPLAIN ABOUT HEAD WHO LEFT KORN:)
Unintentionally hilarios its so bad its good!.......2005-02-11
firstly i will just say this album really sucks, if you're going to try and take it seriously this is beyond bad, its diabolically crap. however if like me you enjoy stuff like Spinal Tap thats ironically funny cos it sucks so much you'll probably enjoy this and play it to your friends for a joke when you're drunk. Tracks like you saved me(a ridiculous marajuana ode) and comin from a friend are hilariosly crass and unbelievably stupid, you'd think they guy was trying to be ironic!
