Beautiful.......2005-06-04
Another triumph for Anuna- this album incorporates more instruments than other albums, but it is done so tastefully and it really adds a whole new dimension to the crisp voices of Anuna.
Definitely worth a place in any music library!
Different, but still superb.......2003-12-29
Unlike most of the albums Anuna has put out so far, most tracks on this album are for choir AND orchestra. The harmonies are definitely 20th century, but they are pleasing to the ear almost always add to the already excellent sound of the choir. Of particular note are the tracks "The Great Wood" (available for download on Anuna's site if you're curious to hear before buying) and the final track, "1901".
Although the sound may be different than what you have come to expect from previous albums, I would still recommend this one wholeheartedly.
another excellent cd by anuna.......2003-06-11
I bought this album when it was still only available in Ireland, and it was well worth the extra money then. Like Cynara and Deep Dead Blue, this CD has more modern music, including some songs composed by Anuna members, as well as the more traditional music they're known for. Perfect for studying or working to.

Customer Reviews:
When will she record again?.......2003-12-09
Over the last year, this is the CD that I consistently keep putting in my car stereo to listen to over and over. "Wounded Heart" and "Nightingale" certainly deserve the attention they have gotten by being covered by Bonnie Raitt and Jennifer Warnes, respectively, but attention should also be paid to the wonderful "Cry Wolf" that is great to sing along with, and the haunting "When Someone Speaks Your Name" that has one of the most original and beautiful melodies I have heard in a long time. Johnstone uses her unique voice to perfection, and each song is a treasure. When will she record again? I'm eager for more.
Coming of Age.......2003-06-18
...Jude Johnstone's CD, honestly,
is #1. My musical tastes are wide and varied: from Medieval
to Classical to Irish to Classic Jazz, Opera, and Rock/Folk
and Bluegrass. Rather than enjoy different types of music,
I enjoy music itself, for I am a firm believer that education
and expression/emotion are more powerful through music than speaking.
When one listens to this CD,this power becomes readily
apparent. Every song has true and powerful emotion.
"Wounded Heart" and "The Nightingale" make me cry... They are 2 of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Even though "Wounded Heart" is also one of the saddest songs I have heard, it somehow laces the feeling of hope and strength around the sadness. Every music lover, and, indeed, every human, can relate to the emotion, and those very pure feelings deep down
in our souls, which this beautiful and simple CD digs out. I feel the emotions of life in their purest forms when I listen to this CD, and I listen to it all the time. Thank you Jude Johnstone.
An extraordinary talent.......2003-04-29
I first became aware of "Coming of Age" after an interview with Jude Johnstone on National Public Radio. I haven't reacted so
positively to a recording I first heard on the radio since hearing Luciano Pavarotti in "The Daughter of the Regiment" in 1971. I purchased the album and was amazed and overwhelmed by the artistry displayed. "Wounded Heart," and, especially, "The Nightingale" are extraordinary works, both in their creation and execution. I have yet to tire of listening to them, and continue to play them for with everyone whose tastes I respect--and even for those whose tastes I don't respect.
The last singer/songwriter that had such a profound affect on me was Randy Newman, when I first heard "Good Old Boys." My enjoyment of his music has continued for over 30 years. I hope that Ms. Johnstone, too, will continue to record her material,
so that I may continue to purchase it and enjoy it for many, many years.
With "Coming of Age," Jude Johnstone has created an extraordinay work of art.
I LOVE JUDE JOHNSTONE.......2002-11-14
I bought the new Jude Johnstone CD - "COMING OF AGE" and I can't get enough! There isn't a bad song on the entire album.
One particular song - "The Nightingale" - may be the most beautiful song I've ever heard. And I LOVE the way she sings it.
I happen to love Bonnie Raitt too, and I've heard her sing "Wounded Heart" and although she sings the hell out of it - listen to Jude sing it and you'll hear why Bonnie Raitt wanted to sing it in the first place.
I loved this CD. Yeah, there's a lot of love here .........
I LOVE THIS JUDE JOHNSTONE CD.......2002-11-13
Quite frankly, I can't get enough of this Jude Johnstone CD - Coming of Age. There isn't a bad song on the whole thing. If you listen to Ms. Johnstone sing her song "The Nightingale" and you don't cry - then you aren't human. "The Nightingale" may be the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
But there are great songs all OVER this CD.

One of the best hard/alterna-rock CD's I have ever owned..........2005-01-01
If you listen to mainstream radio today, you know that the number of modern and alternative rock bands out there seems to be growing exponentially. With such a large number of very similar artists, it's quite rare that we find that one sticks out above the rest. This is where Breaking Point comes in, and the sad thing is that you won't even get to hear them on those very radio stations. This also speaks volumes about the current state of radio-America, but that piece shall be saved for another day. This CD is not your derivative, soft verse/hard chorus music that circulates through the airwaves constantly; no, these guys cover all ends of the hard rock spectrum (although I don't believe I heard any solos, but I could be mistaken), from the epic title track, to the softer "Live For Today," all the way to the album's finale, the all out rocker "One of a Kind," which was actually just tacked onto this later pressing of the album (the band hadn't even recorded it at the time of the original of pressing of the album, but included it once it became the theme song for the WWF's Rob Van Dam. And yes, it was WWF, not WWE back in those days). Yes, many of the songs do tend to follow that softer verse/hard chorus formula we all know so well, but it is not driven into the ground and doesn't ever make the album seem stale. Even with this, the band makes the songs catch your attention, as each song has heaviness even when it goes through the softer moments. Let me put it frankly: you will not go from an acoustic, soft sung verse to a screamed hard chorus, the stereotypical routine for bands in the alternative rock genre. If I had to compare these guys to some more well known bands, I guess I would have to go with a more rocking, somewhat darker version of Nickelback, or maybe a less metal/more rock influenced Godsmack. Don't hold those comparisons against these guys though; I was really struggling to come up with something. The standout tracks on this CD would have to be "Coming of Age," with its extremely catchy and memorable chorus, "One of a Kind," because it is just a generally excellent rock song, and "Live For Today," with its acoustic beginning leading into the slightly distorted conclusion-makes for a very good build up. Other noteworthy cuts include "27," featured on "The Scorpion King" soundtrack, and "Brother," which actually features Josey Scott of Saliva. I would have given this CD 5 stars (and it actually should be 4.5 anyway), but the only thing that brought it down was the mere fact that it did have that cliched mainstream rock formula in it every now and then. Other than that, this is a beautifully crafted record, and a must have for anyone who wants (or needs) to see what real rock is all about, and yet can still remain accessible.
Average present, very bright future.......2003-04-05
This is the kind of album I like to hear. Not because of it's own greatness, but after listening to this kind of album, you just know you've stumbled upon a band that will make great albums eventually. Want proof ? Just check out the last song on this album : One of a Kind. The original album didn't have that song. It ended at number 10, Under. One of a Kind was added later when they started playing it as Rob Van Dam's theme in the WWE. You can just hear the difference between that track and the others.
As for the rest of the tracks, they go from ok to pretty good. The main problem I see here is that Breaking Point seems to have a problem with the chorus part of the song. Coming of Age would have been excellent with a better chorus. Same goes with Live For Today. They aren't bad, it's just that they could have been better. There is one song I wouldn't change, and it is Brother. The lyrics are good and the part where Saliva's singer does his thing is just great.
Before my final thought, I'd just like to note that the cover art of the CD is really well done. So good job by the artists there. So, to sum it up, I actually don't recommand buying this album. I just know there's something much bigger just around the corner, waiting...
Best bands in 2003.......2003-02-03
Listen to to breaking point brings a breath of fresh air to listening to music, with the recycled raido waves and every one trying to sound the same few bands broke away from the norm, and I belive Breaking point is one of them this band has the most potential I've seen in a long time. Falling down was one of the songs that cought me by suppise then it was one of a kind which was music to my ears. Over all one of the best CD's I've purchased in a long time
Best album I've heard for 2003.......2003-02-02
By far one of the best albums i've heard since queens of stone age, with the polluted recycled radio waves this song pop out and i was sold on it, when i heard one of kinda i choked becasue i haven't heard a song hit like that in a long long I think now we can be pleased to say this group will reveloutinize rock
excellence.......2002-10-09
This band truly embodies all things great about rock music. They have put together a great cd and give a great live proformance. If you get this cd you will not be disappointed.

Customer Reviews:
Not for everyone..........2006-09-17
I have to admit that I do like this LP. It kinda grew on me throughout these years. Lyrically he does have his moments. Overall, this is the only record from him I think you should check out.
Is he the new and improved Jay-Z? .......2006-02-03
Memphis Bleek looks at himself as the new and improved Jay-Z. As far as the general fans are concerned, he has the potential to be, but as far as this album goes, it doesn't seem he be will anytime soon. Unfortunetly, this album lacks the same presence that Jay-Z gives us with his records. Memphis Bleek does possess the same swager and infactuation with drugs, money, women and guns, but unfortuntely it lacks substance. No real standouts in this one, but the gems on this LP do keep the record spinning and have you listening to what this young man's all about, with some decent production work. Sorry Bleek, better luck next time!
Lyrics need some work.......2006-01-03
Memphis Bleek has a lot to offer but he doesn't show it when he limits his lyrics to only a few things, Women, Money, and all the other flashy stuff people crave. Now he does open his mind up on some tracks letting you know his potential. Besides that this album has some great production and that's where Bleek unleashes the real Bleek. Tracks like Stay alive in NYC, You a thug, and Regular cat. After hearing this album you start to realize in his more recent albums Bleek relies on his production to much but not on this he was hungrier and more aggressive than he is now. This is a nice album to have it's got mediocre lyrics nothing that stands out like his verse on Jay z's coming of age. Some songs wear on you and some start to get on your nerves but all together this is a decent debut.
Memphis Bleek - Coming of Age.......2005-02-24
After appearing on Jay-Z's 1998 multiplatinum album, "Vol. 2: A Hard Knock Life", the first rapper signed to the ROC, Memphis Bleek released his first album, "Coming of Age" in 1999.
1. Pain in da A** Intro
2. Who's Sleeping (Featuring Reb) - Nice beat, Bleek has a real nice flow, Reb comes good on the hook - 4/5
3. Memphis Bleek Is... - Not feeling the beat, Bleek comes good, hook is good - 4/5
4. What You Think of That (Featuring Jay-Z) - Good beat, Bleek and Jay rip it, hook is good - 4.5/5
5. Murda 4 Life (Featuring Ja Rule) - Good beat, Bleek and Ja come nice, Ja has a good hook - 4.5/5
6. You're All Welcome [Pain Interlude]
7. Stay Alive in NYC - Nice beat, Bleek comes real hard and grimey, hook is good...really bangin track - 5/5
8. You a Thug N**** - Good beat, Bleek comes hard again, hooks pretty good - 4/5
9. N.O.W. (Featuring Da Ranjahz) - Good beat, Dark Half and Wais got the first 2 verses then Bleek comes last...they all sound nice over the beat, hook is good...another good track - 5/5
10. Everybody - Nice beat, Bleek comes good, hook is alright - 4/5
11. I Won't Stop (Featuring Dark Half) - Nice beat, Bleek is tight on his verses, Dark Half does the hook which is also good - 4/5
12. My Hood to Your Hood (Featuring Beanie Sigel) - Good beat, Beans and Bleek go back and worth and both come nice, hook is good - 4.5/5
13. Why You Wanna Hate For (Featuring Noreaga) - Real hard beat, Bleek and N.O.R.E. come pretty nice, not feeling N.O.R.E.'s hook at all - 4/5
14. Regular Cat - Another hard beat, Bleek doesn't disappoint on his verses, the hook could have been more energetic and faster... - 4.5/5
Overall: 53/60
4.5 Stars
Bleek really impressed me with this album. He's not as talented as Jay-Z but he's definitely got a great flow and voice to match up with the beats. His hooks aren't bad either. It always puzzles me how people hate on Bleek so much...people just need to kick back and give him another try!
Classic Debut - possibly 4.5 stars.......2004-12-17
With almost 4 years in the rap game under his belt, at the time labeled as the future of the ROC, Bleek, displays the lyrics of an old head, and he just turned 21 a month and a half before this debut album dropped. With 12 solid songs (none on here that I skip), it has 3 classics, 5 to 7 good or great songs, and 2 to 4 average ones. Half the songs have guests on them. Production is handled by 10 different producers. Irv Gotti does 3 (2 w/ Mr. Fingers & 1 w/ Lil rob), J_Runnah does 2, and Pat Viala, Buvkwild, Swizz Beats, Haph, Omen, Big Demi, Burn Unit all do 1. Amust have rap album and one of the best of 1999.

#3 - 10 (classic w/ great beat)
#4 - 10 (another classic w/ a great faster beat -- f/ Jay-Z)

Back in The Day.......2007-08-01
I have searched for this album for over 10 years. I got it when it first came out back in 1993 on tape. I love this album so much I can't wait to get it, I am going to play it till I can't take it no more. I was 13 when this first came out and Coming Home to love was the song they played at all the middle school dances. This really takes me "back in the day"
A fine R&B album.......2006-10-05
After the sucess of Boyz II Men,R&B groups who specilazied in four part harmony were everywhere. Coming Of Age was was one of these groups, and on their debut CD they proved they could hang with the best of them. The ballads I'm Coming Home & Baby Be Still blend all four of the guys voices well together as do the acapella tracks One In A Millon & All I Ask Of You. Sadly the group only had one more album after this before fading into R&B Obscuirty but if you get a chance check this album out.
Coming of Age: GREAT ALBUM!.......2006-05-19
I rate this album 5 stars because of centimental value. It is memories of a great time with my first boyfriend, (True Love). This cd was totally played out, it skips on the best songs: Intimate, One in a Million. I definitly need a replacement.
Highly recommend this album for couples or for those who remember this group. Pretty nostalgic.
REMINISCE.......2006-02-07
The first time I heard this album was in my ex-boyfriends Ford Escort (don't laugh he had it hooked up!)back in 1993. I fell in love with "One in a Million" You can say that this album has a sentimental value to me (that's why it's rated so high). I've looked for this album ever since my boyfriend and I split up. (almost 12 years now)"One in a Million" has always taken me back to the happiest days of my life. The days I spent in the cream colored Ford Escort in Chi-Town. If you ever get to read this (and you know who you are) I miss you!
Act like you heard........2006-01-04
I bought this tape when it first came out after seeing them perform "Baby Be Still," and their rendition of the Isley Brothers' classic, Between the Sheets," on Teen Summit. TQ was a member of the group back in the day when he was just Terrence. It isn't the best, I would actually give it about 3.5 stars, however it is a solid debut and these guys can really harmonize, buy it for the slow cuts. TQ should have stayed with the group, Coming of Age was a nice r&b group to put on when you're chillin with your snugglebunny. Peace!

Customer Reviews:
Great Music for a Wedding!!.......2002-08-09
When I got engaged to be married in November 2002, the job of finding the wedding music fell into my hands. I looked long and hard for some type of "fanfare" music to introduce the couple (us) at the wedding. My long search stopped here as this CD, "Fanfare, British Music for Symphonic Brass Ensemble", fits the bill. This CD has different variety of fanfares ranging from those for a state occasion to a light hearted gala occasion. My favorite fanfare?? It's "Fanfare" by William Walton. I loved the way it starts out with a loud drum roll followed by the brassy sounds of the horns. Of course, you can't pass up Arthur Bliss's "Royal Fanfares 1-6". You will find many different uses for this CD not only for a wedding but for other ocassions too. Give it a try!! LJK.
Simply....Beautiful.......2001-11-08
These pieces are brilliant! The harmony is absolute! Very nice sound and a very nice selection!

BRILLIANT TRULY BRILLIANT.......2003-12-27
Coming of age is a masterpiece in itself, the dvd and the live cd. The guitar solo's of Andy latamir are fantastic and like none other, they show great beauty. In the songs Rose of Sharon and Drafted, they show incredible musicianship and talent as these 2 songs are 2 of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I also believe that Hymn To Her is a wonderful song as well with its catchy vocals and wonderful guitar work. CAMEL DESERVES MORE RESPECT THAN ANY OTHER BAND, THEY ARE EXTREMELY TALENTED. I really appreciate what they do and i would give anything to be able to see them in concert.
A must have on DVD.......2003-08-30
I have been listening to Camel for 30 years, if you are a Camel fan You will love this cd, better yet buy the DVD, and don't forget to grab "Rajaz" and "A Nod And A Wink" if You want to hear their most current material. I hope this helps to gain some much deserved support for Camel.
The unforgettable Harbour of tears Tour/plus their HISTORY.......2002-11-26
Well this is the best live so far since the issue of "LIVE RECORD"...in this "Coming of age" you can find the whole best stuff from "The snow Goose", "Nude", "Dust and dreams" and moreover I want to remark the great pathos and beautiful execution as well by Andy, in the great tracks "Lunar Sea", Hymn to her", "Ice", "Beached" and also in the final track "The hour candle" dedicated to his father, this page being one of the most sensible and finest of the whole Camel career...
Highly recommended!!
Andy Latimer - Never Let Go!.......1999-09-28
Found this in the shops. I didn't realise Camel were still touring so bought it. Brilliant album! Andy's guitar is as good as ever, as demonstrated in the beautiful and haunting "Ice". "Sasquatch" picks up the pace again and is better live. I've seen Camel twice - late 70's, early 80's. After hearing this would love to do so again. Please tell me next time you tour in the UK!
phenomenal, talented musicianship.......1999-05-25
My wife and I have been Camel fans for years. We had our prayers answered when we had the opportunity to see Camel play this tour in a small German "gasthaus" called the Altes Schutzenhaus in Stuttgart, April 1, 1997. I was right in front, and could have reached out and grabbed Andy's leg as he was playing guitar (although I'm sure he wouldn't have liked that). Andy Latimer plays guitar with more soul and aggression than any other guitar player I've ever seen. This rock concert was a night I'll never forget. Thanks, Camel.
