5 out of 5 stars Great effort by all the Psychopathic artists.......2007-03-20

After being delayed for two years, "Tales From The Lotus Pod" was finally released in 2001, and was worth the wait. The beats are excellent and the concept is really wicked. Mike E. Clark produced half of the album before parting ways with Psychopathic, and it's a shame he left, because he was really capturing the sound that all of us envisioned for Dark Lotus. I reccomend picking up the original version as oppossed to the re-release, because Marz is much better than ABK.

5 out of 5 stars Freakin' Excellent !!!.......2006-07-21

This was an excellent cd. a lot deeper and darker than the ICP stuff. Also, out of the 2 versions availible, the original is better. To me, ABK just doesn't cut it. he's got a good style and all, it's just that he sounds like a rapping version of the nerd dude from Family Guy with his lisp and all. To me the best song on here is " And We Danced " followed by " Bitch, I'm Sexy ". This review is coming from a guy who definitely KNOWS music, as I listen to everything from Death/Gore Grind/Black Metal, to Rap/Hip Hop, etc/. So to the person who was obviously making fun of this release to get a reaction by calling this and saying " What is this, Dark Rap, Goth Rap, HAHAHAHA What a Load " I say.. I guess those who don't do tell how it should be done... Am I right ? There... you got your reaction... You're welcome :)

4 out of 5 stars ABK above marz.......2006-06-04

This album was a good album but personal I say if you want the Dark Lotus album tales from the lotus pod buy the revised. I feel ABK is far more a Juggalo then marz to take the quote straight from the album, Hey Marz you never were lotus and you know this BITCH!

4 out of 5 stars Enter the Lotus Pod.......2005-11-05

This album introduces us to the Lotus Pod, where the Children of the Lotus spin dark spiritual tales (i.e. Ali-Ba-Ba, cigaM kcalB, Headaches, I Wanna Die) as well as stories sexual pleasure (i.e. We Danced, Bitch I'm Sexy) and binding together as a family (i.e. Juggalo Family). The Lotus Family. The Juggalo Family. Dark Lotus consists of Insane Clown Posse, TWIZTID, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, and a newcomer known as Marz. Marz has proven to be a worthy and very talented sixth member of Dark Lotus. This album is a must have for any and every Juggalo. And for new Juggalos, this album is a terrific introduction to the world of the Lotus. Full of mystical legends, dark magic, pain, suffering, and sexual pleasure, the Children of the Lotus are wicked as ever and their story is like none other!

4 out of 5 stars Dark Lutus Debut: An Evil Edge.......2005-11-01

This album appeared with ex'memeber Marz, who i think is mad wicked, and then was re-made when ICP said goodbye to Marz and replaced him with ABK....Tracks:

1. Intro-1/5 Creepy Intro....about afterlife and cnoice......yea get it
2. Ali Baba-3.5/5 Yea its a cool track about mystic Egyptian-like wonders....only thing lacking is the chorus and beat....Monoxide and Madrox school this track
3. Something-4/5 A beat J used later in FF...but as a dark lotus track its a lot better.....simply cause i love everyones verses....
4. Hurt Myself-4.5/5 Great pounding rock beat.....the chick singing around the chorus is a little annoying tho....Again Monoxide polishes this track
5. Call Upon Your Gods-3/5 Beats eh.....ok..same for verses I like the switching off of members for the chorus....its an alright track...good subject
6. We Danced-5/5 Painfully Wicked! This is the wicked shxt I pay good money for....beats awesome....story is very demeted and joyfully graphic.....I love it
7. Black Magic-5/5 I really like the concept of this track.....few words mixed together in a scary beat to sound like a horrifying chant.....I piture a disturbing video to go along with this
8. Gimme Dat Blood-4.5/5 Now were on the vampiric side....still keeping the album on a hideous note....with good verses about thirst for blood.....J's verse is my favorite on this...
9. Headache-5/5 it just doesnt stop with the wicked shxt....this one goes more towards painful experiences......Chorus is very well done......
10. Bad Rep-2/5 Just dont really llke this track.....its a big change of pace about their reputation....the beat isnt real diggable....but its dark lotus so its worth listening to
11. Bitch I'm Sexy-5/5 Favorite Track on the album......Downright bitchhater song......Everyone is absolutely awesome on this track......Shaggy has a nice semi-singing part on this......Beat is on the same pace of them with the angry in your face style
12. Swarm-3.5/5 Monoxide isnt on here....still a decent track with a good beat and badass lyrics by Marz and J.....
13. I Wanna Die-3/5 More relaxing track.....I enjoy it for its lyrics and chorus.....bout all i enjoy inside this track
14. Black Crows-5/5 Back again to the wickedness......Beat is pretty good....Not much of a chorus, but the chant that is said goes well with the beat in the background.....
15. Juggalo Family-4/5 Another ending track landing on a good note about fan love.......chorus is something you would hear in all juggalos heads if you could read minds.......But its not one of my faves.....
16. Dot Com-1/5 just a shout out to websites.......

This album feels like the dark magic inside the tombs and cemetaries that we wouldnt dare exploring......Very Wicked....Excellent debut of a six man psychopathic group.....They arent around much....but when they return from hiding they bring storms...they are Dark Lotus-Sexton

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Made me a Juggalo!.......2006-06-15

This cd is the single reason I am a Juggalo and listen to ICP as much as I do. When I first got this cd I didnt really listen to ICP I had great Milenko but I didnt take them to seriously as artists. Then a friend gave me this and it changed everything I love this cd I listend to it continuously, that was 2 years ago and I still listen to it religiously. I now listen to all of the Joker Cards, Twiztid and love ICP and Dark Lotus I am even going to get a tatt for Dark Lotus.
To sum the cd a little:
1. Intro - Its a tight intro great welcome to the wraith of Shan Gri La
2. Ali Baba - Pretty Cool gets the message across
3. Cripple And Rape Me - Great song one of the best on the cd
4. I hurt Myself - Great song
5. Call Upon Your Gods - This is in the top 3 of this cd love the message its awesome
6. And We Danced - Ok song im not in to the necro stuff but the beats cool
7. Black Magic - eerie message cool song too, nice reverse talk
8. Taste of Blood - Cool song weird though
9. Headaches - The best song on this cd I live by this song
10. Someone Gotta Love Me - Great Beat Tight song
11. [...] Im Sexy - Great song really funny
12. Swarm - "Mass Murdera Strangla"" Tight lyrics
13. I wanna Die - I love this song
14. The Crows - A good song makes you think and look above
15. Juggalo Family - Third of the top 3 awsome great juggalo song if your a juggalo you need this song
16. Dot Com - All the ninja web sites!

2 out of 5 stars good but..........2006-05-08

it's the exact sane album and they expect you to pay full price only difference is no marz, ABK is in it

thats all

no new songs nothing just ABK rappin over marz

5 out of 5 stars A New Member of the Fam!.......2005-11-06

Violent J. Shaggy 2 Dope. Jamie Madrox. Monoxide Child. Blaze Ya Dead Homie. And now, in the revisited version of the first album, we find the Lotus has revealed its sixth child, AnyBody Killa! Juggalos differ as to whether the Marz or the ABK version of the first Dark Lotus album was better. Personally, I believe that ABK's flow, style, and lyrics were more consistent with that of the rest of the Lotus than was Marz's. While Marz was indeed a very talented performer with the potential to become and underground sensation, he was hardly a child of the Lotus. Tales from the Lotus Pod (Revisited) provides mystic, cryptic tunes for your cranium, with ABK's lyrics played over those of Marz, the former sixth member of Dark Lotus. If you're a Juggalo, get this album immediately because this piece is an absolutely necessary addition to your collection!

4 out of 5 stars REMASTERED!!!! Not as good as first version.......2005-10-18

Do not get this unless you have the first version. This version has remastered and shortened tracks. I am gonna review the regualr version --- I got this CD after hearing the track 11 or "B*tch I am Sexy." So obviously, I thought it was going to be a funny album. I was very surprised when I started listening to it and it is pretty much like the first Hell's Pit because it is so dark. There are a couple songs that are flat-out hilarious. But most of the songs are hella sick and scary. Now, i always and always give juggalo albums 5 stars because I have usually loved all the songs on other Psycopathic Records, but even as a HUGE juggalo, I have to say, some of these songs were terrible, i mean so terrible you will never listen to them twice. Now, obviously this is a huge album for Psychopathic, and it is a great album. I think what happened was they ran out of beats and used old beats that really didn't sound great. But for a dark rap album this is still good. The best songs are 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 15. Now the reason all juggalos need to buy this album is because of track 15. It's called Juggalo Family, this in my opinion is the most loyal song to Psychopathic ever made.

2 out of 5 stars eh..........2006-04-24

it's the same as tales from the lotus pod except maybe just a couple of new lines in the songs. Don't get me wrong ABK is dope but i really think no one could top off Marz on that cd.

They even took out his parts in bitch im sexy

Really don't buy this unless you don't have the other version

it's just a waste of money

Black Rain was Fresh too

I wonder if they'll do another ABK is gone now

Maybe someone from AMB will fill in

5 out of 5 stars Worth it Just For Track 15.......2005-10-18

5 out of 5 stars Forget Marz!!!!.......2005-06-13

Ok, Marz was "Never Lotus and you know this"! ABK is way more fresh then Marz. Juggalos know that ABK is much better then Marz. ABK is a part of the carnival!!! The Marz version is good because of..... ICP, Twiztid, and Blaze not Marz. Marz makes Ali-baba sound really stale to me, which reflects the rest of the Album. Psychopathic was right for ditching the idiot named after a candy company? You know, the one that makes MnM's... Marz. What a lame name for a lame MC.

1 out of 5 stars It Ain't right.......2005-02-19

This version just isn't right....it's all about the original version with Marz, don't waste money on this joint, smoke the first one 4sho...clown love

2 out of 5 stars crap er natural?.......2004-11-03

ABK isnt a very good MC or singer, and this cd wasnt very good in the first place, a revised version is just 6 new verses and 18 more wasted dollars.
