Ausar007.......2007-01-01
The Outlawz 4 life album is a serious compilation of instruments that make all outlaw fans jump up where ever they are. I could say all songs were written by One Nation entertaiament with Bun B (Rap a lot records) and Stormy(One nation Entertainment )Featuring. The title "smiling faces" featuring F'lana star (A.fam records) is jazzy and a Blues song that really calms the album after "Big Ballin" and "let it burn". Chair Crazy(Forever Family Music) featured in let it burn. Malachi (South East Entertainment) and Kujo Goodie (Goodie Mob Records) in "These Are the Times". The recordings were nicely fitted together to give this album a five star rating. why a five star rating?, it has the Southern style flow with the New Jersey effect. This album isn't just for Organ lovers, but this album has parts for Tupac and Yak that makes all listners wanting to hear Them together again. We all want that same effect on the next album. Young Noble, Edi, with kastro are the 21 century Artists that are not finish in making fans remember the legacy of Pac and Yak (The Immortalz Album).
Outlawz 4 Life?.......2006-04-06
On their latest album, Outlawz 4 Life (One Nation/33rd Street), Kastro, EDI, and Noble press on defiantly without `Pac. The album is their attack on a marketplace that may have never given them a fair shot.
No longer with former member Napolean's services, the remaining trio seems to have tighter chemistry. Each track has the entire group in succinct form. This makes guests more welcomed, such as Bun B on "Big Ballin'". Aside from the poignant, "Losin' My Mind," the `Lawz have fallen from dramatic war raps and pained reflection, and moved towards money and street oriented rhymes. This may take the edge off for hardcore fans, but it also helps create a new, fresher image for a group often linked with the past.
The production on the album is the best change. While Aftermath's Focus may be the most notable contributor, with three efforts, it is in-house producer J-Mack that makes the album's best moments. J-Mack fails to establish one thorough sound, but he does show classic Outlawz ears on "Smiling Faces," while taking risks with "Sacred Vows." These aren't very complex songs, but they may very well age better than what the Outlawz have cataloged thus far.
The biggest flaw of Outlawz 4 Life is its desire to do too many things. At times, they get grimy with an M.O.P-like Rock style ("Sacred Vows") while they also push for Crunk appeal ("Better It Get"). While this may be the best slab of Outlawz material put on an album in five years, it feels random at best - something 2Pac never seemed to settle for.
HEAVENSENT.......2006-01-18
THE LAWZ ARE DOING WHAT FEW RAP ARTIST ARE DOING TODAY. THAT IS ADDRESSING PROMBLEMS IN THE URBAN COMMUNITY. EVERY SONG HAS A MESSAGE IN IT FOR THOSE WHO CAN RELATE. SOME WILL UNDERSTAND SOME WILL NEVER. IF YOU DONT GET THE MESSAGE OF A PARTICULAR SONG YOU SHOULD APPRECIATE IT BECAUSE YOU PROBABLY HAVENT EXPERIENCED WHAT THEY ARE ADDRESSING IN THAT PARTICULAR SONG. I FELT AND ENJOYED THE ALBUM AS A WHOLE AND HAVE LIVED IN THE URBAN COMMUNITY A.K.A. THE GHETTO IN THE USA MY WHOLE LIFE. THIS ALBUM IS THE TRUTH PURE AND UNADULTERATED. ITS MUCH NEEDED AND WHATS MISSING IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. THE LAWZ MESSAGE REMAINS THE SAME AND THIS IS A TUPAC ALBUM. THEY ARE HIS LEGACY. HE WAS A TEACHER AND A FRIEND TO THEM AND MANY OF US IN POORER COMMUNITIES. THEY CONTINUE HIS WORK EVEN AFTER HIS DEATH, TO TEACH THROUGH MUSIC THE PAINS AND STRUGGLE OF URBANLIFE. POVERTY, LACK OF EDUCATION AND OPPURTUNITY, DRUG ADDICTION, RACISM, AND MANY OTHER PROMBLEMS IN THE SOCIETY THAT THE POOR AND DISENFRANCHISED LIVE IN. THE LAWZ REMAIN TO THIS DAY MISUNDERSTOOD BY MANY BUT LOVED DEARLY BY MOST OF US WHO UNDERSTAND THE STRUGGLE. THIS IS NOT JUST MUSIC ALTHOUGH SOME LOOK AT IT THAT WAY. THIS ALBUM HAS A SPECIFIC PURPOSE AND IT ISNT ENTERTAINMENT OF THE MASSES WHO LIVE IN IGNORANCE TO THE ISSUES IT ADDRESSES. IT PURPOSE IS TO GIVE HOPE TO THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE STRUGGLES IT DESCRIBES SO VIVIDLY AND SURVIVED IT AND THOSE STILL TRAPPED IN THE STRUGGLE. AND ALSO TO MOURN AND RESPECT ALL THE FALLEN SOLDIERS INCLUDING PAC WHO DIDNT SURVIVE. I THANKED GOD WHEN I HEARD THIS ALBUM AND PRAY THAT HE BLESS THE LAWZ TO CARRY ON, TO NEVER TURN BACK AS THEY SAY ON THE 2ND TRACK. STAY THE COURSE AND KEEP 2PAC'S TRUE LEGACY ALIVE. TO ALL THOSE WHO THINK THIS ALBUM OR ANY OUTLAW ALBUM WAS MADE FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT AND AMUSEMENT, THANK GOD FOR YOUR IGNORANCE TO THE SUBJECT MATTER, SERIOUSLY, NO PUN INTENDED. TO THOSE TRAPPED IN THE STRUGGLE STILL, THIS ONES FOR YOU. NEVER QUIT. NEVER GIVE UP HOPE. MAKE A WAY OUT FOR YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR CHILDRENS CHILDREN. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES RIGHTEOUSLY TO CHANGE YOUR SITUATION IN LIFE. WHETHER IT BE GOING TO SCHOOL OR STRUGGLING INDEPENDANTLY TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS. WHEN YOUR POOR AND UNEDUCATED THOSE WH0 CONTROL THE SOCIETY TRY TO TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN ONLY SUCCEED IN A CRIMINAL CAPACITY. DONT ACCEPT THIS. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOUR OWN ABILITIES AND BELIEVE IN GOD AND YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD. AND DONT BE AFRAID TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER AND LEARN NEW WAYS OF THINKING. THIS IS WHAT THEY FEAR AND THATS WHY THEY KILLED CONSCIENCE RAP AND REPLACED IT WITH THE AGE OF BLING-BLING. ITS NOTHING WRONG WITH WANTING MATERIAL WEALTH BUT DONT LET YOUR DESIRE AND GREED LEAD YOU UNTO WRONGDOING AND DESTROYING YOUR FELLOW MAN THROUGH DRUGS, PROSTITUTION, AND VIOLENCE. TO DESTROY ONES BROTHER IS TO DESTROY ONES SELF. THATS WHAT THE WEALTHY ONES THAT ARE CORRUPTED IN AMERICAN SOCIETY DONT UNDERSTAND. THAT IN KEEPING THE POOR DISENFRANCHISED THAT THEY ARE REALLY DESTROYING THEIR OWN SPIRIT AND MINDS LEADING THEMSELVES FARTHEST AWAY FROM THE CREATOR OF MAN. YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR SITUATION IN LIFE FOR THE BETTER. BUT IT TAKES BELIEVING IN ONES SELF FIRST AND YOUR OWN ABILITIES, RE-EDUCATING ONES SELF TO LEARN THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO WORK YOUR PLAN AND ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOAL IN LIFE, AND HARD WORK AND SACRIFICE TO ATTAIN THAT GOAL NO MATTER IF ITS BEING A JANITOR OR A BRAIN SURGEON. MY MOTHER AND FATHER GREW UP IN THE PROJECTS, MET THERE AND HAD ME AND MY SIBLINGS THERE. I LIVED IN THE PROJECTS AND THEN LEFT THERE AND MOVED TO A WORSER HOOD WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER. THEY TOLD ME THAT I PROBABLY WOULDNT LIVE TO SEE 18 AND I USED TO BELIEVE THEM. BUT WHEN I STARTED TELLING MYSELF THAT I WAS GOING TO MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF MY LIFE OTHER THAN BEING A GANGSTA ON THE BLOCK TRYIN TO GO FROM A-G-2-A-KE THINGS STARTED TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. IF I COULD DO IT SO CAN YOU. JUST BELIEVE YOU CAN SUCCEED AT ANYTHING, THATS THE KEY. PEACE.
