5 out of 5 stars Good Appetizer 4 The Tempest.......2006-07-14

Forgotten Freshness Vol. 4, the 4th installment in the compilation releases ICP has put out throughout their career, is pretty fresh. There were some songs I wish they could have put on here, more rare ones ("50 Bucks", "Jacob's Word", etc.) but it's still fresh.

"The People" is a feel good opener showing love to the Juggalos, and about how ICP does everything for the Juggalos. "Clown Walk" is a short club joint about doing the clown walk lol. A lot of ninjas won't like it at first but after a while I grew to like it. "If I Was A King" is a fresh joint about what it would be like if J and Shaggz were kings. "Dear ICP" finally showcases some old school freshness. Basically people ask for ICP's advice (mainly Shaggy's) and he proceeds to give them real uh 2 Dope advice lol. "Mad House" is an alright track. It features Tech N9ne, who as always, rips the track to shreds. J and Shaggy's lyrics fall a little short on this one though. Still, it's fresh enough. "Feels So Right" is my favorite track off the album. For some reason, it was left off Hell's Pit. It is definitely that wicked/horrorcore stuff that ICP's known for. Definitely love it. Next is a remix of "Homies" which I still dig. I like both versions equally as they song itself is one of my favorites. I think "Staaaaale" comes next though I don't really wanna know. That is the only truly terrible song on the CD. I tried to like it but I find nothing really appealing about it. They basically talk about stale stuff and scream the word out every other second. "Bodies Fly" is an aight track which woulda fit Hell's Pit really well too. It's a simple plot about J and Shaggz seeing bodies flying into the sky and exploding. "Wicked Rappers Delight" is somewhat of a historical song. As far as I know, it is the LAST song ICP and Esham recorded together before Sham left the Hatchet and started dissing. It's basically a freestyle session between the three rappers and is pretty fresh. "Panties" is a 2 Dope solo that took me time to get used to. It's kind of pointless and stupid but after seeing him do it live, I came to dig it a lot lol. "If You Can't Beat Em Join Em" is another Shaggy solo basically from the old school days. Fun song to listen to and J comes in at the end to sing about coming to the Carnival. "Nobody Move" is a thugged out track straight up featuring Westside Connection's own Mack-10. J and Shaggz actually throw some pretty fresh gangsta rhymes, reminiscent of the Psychopathic Rydas days. Mack also rips it up (hearing him shoutin out the Juggalos and Faygo is fresh). "Yours Begins Tonight" took some time to get used to, but it's a pretty fresh track altogether. It's basically about your paradise beginning right in front of you. Really diamond rain days type stuff but fresh nonetheless. Next is the remix to "CPK's" which I think is a lot better than the original. I never liked the old beat, but this one by Mike E. Clark blows it away. "Swallow This Nut" is a fun song to listen to featuring Fresh Kid Ice, Fish N Grits, MC Breed, and Vanilla Ice. Umm the title says it all.

Basically this serves as a good appetizer for The Tempest, which is bound to destroy the competition altogether.

5 out of 5 stars MIND BLOWING.......2006-04-27

This Forgotten Freshness is simply put...the sh*t. It's the best installment of FF yet, some let me just rate track-by-track this compilation of mind blowing freshness:

1. Intro - This was first featured on the Tunnel Of Love EP as a hidden track. Awesome intro for what's in store for FF4. 5/5

2. The People - A clown luv dedication to the Fam. It don't get no better than that. 5/5

3. Clown Walk - I'm glad ICP decided to release this, this track is THE BOMB!! I even got my own dance to it haha... only thing bad about it is that it's way too short, but that's okay. 5/5

4. If I Was King - Hilarious track about when ICP would do if they were kings. Has a catchy chorus, but not the best on FF4. 4/5

5. Dear ICP - Some old school ICP for that @$$!!! Enough said! 5/5

6. Madhouse (w/Tech N9ne) - ICP of course is this shiznit, and Tech N9ne is the shiznit, so when they collabo on a track, KA-BOOOOM! Instant freshness. 5/5

7. Feels So Right - Why was this kept off of Hell's Pit? It would have fit in so perfectly with the dark and evil themed Hell's Pit. But hey I'm glad it's been released nonetheless. 4.5/5

8. Homies (w/Twiztid) (Mike E. Clark Mix) - This version of Homies blows the version on Shangri-La outta the water! Mike E. Clark just has a nitch for making ICP's music that much more fresh. He is the sh*t, and now that he's back, I can't wait to hear what magic he and ICP make on the Tempest. 5/5

9. STAAAAAAAAALE!!! - Kind of reminds me of Thy Staleness on Shangri-La. Not a bad track, but then again not the best either. 3.5/5

10. Bodies Fly - Another track that was kept off of Hell's Pit. This song is pretty fresh especially with the "Put yo hands in the air" part at the end, but like Clown Walk, it's a little on the short side. 4/5

11. Wicked Rappers Delight (w/Esham) - OMG...Freshness personified. ICP and Esham tear it up on this track, and the beat is very very catchy. I love to rap to it myself. Wicked fresh. 5/5

12. Panties - 2 Dope solo track. This track would be alot better if it wasn't so repetitive. The music is different, a little clubby...but that's all good. Was supposed to have been on F.T.F.O., but ICP figured they'd feature a lil bit of that freshness on FF4. 4/5

13. If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em - Some more old school wicked sh*t for that @$$! Enough said! 4.5/5

14. Nobody Move (w/Mack 10) - Great collabo with Westside Connection's Mack 10. I went to the Hell's Pit tour in November of '04 and Mack 10 rocked the crowd. It's about time ICP and 10 hit up the studio together! 4.5/5

15. Yours Begins Tonight - A track that was left off of Shangri-la because I'm guessing they thought it was a little to positive. But it's an alright track, a little rock and roll diddy. I can't believe I just said diddy. 4/5

16. C.P.K's (Mike E. Clark Mix) - Look above at the review of Track 8. Same thing, M.E.C. just makes sh*t fresh! 5/5

17. Swallow This Nut (w/2 Live Crew, MC Breed & Vanilla Ice) - This track is unlike anything that ICP has done, music-wise anyways. This song is insanely catchy, and I find myself going alone with it. The only thing bad about it is the short length of the verses and the song overall...but once again, that's okay. 5/5

Juggalos, if for some reason you ain't got this, go get it. If you're broke, have a homie burn it for you...do somethin!!!! You gotta somehow acquire this in one way or another. MCL PEACE!

4 out of 5 stars Forgotten Freshness Vol.4.......2006-04-07

This was an aight album, alot of tracks that the juggalos aint ever get a chance to hear before the corporate world yanked them... The first cd has a couple of tight remixes, and the second cd has all the hotness from Hallowicked... Not the best, definately better than the calm, and definately worth my money and yours.

3 out of 5 stars The decay of ICP.......2006-03-01

ICP is and allways will be my favorite band but after the end of the Joker card era, their songs and records pretty much where bad... They only talk about sex and drugs, it looks like they are trying to look cool to stupid teenagers, in the begining they where like the "nerd gods" now they are trying to get another audience, wich is the oposite of the nerds or scrubs.. This is not a bad record, not at all, but it looks like they are trying to sell to more audiences, trying, fighting to get to a "pop" audience. And ICP allways hated that Pop audience, well i think this is it, the endo for icp, well lets see and wait for the tempest...

5 out of 5 stars Best in the FF series yet.......2006-02-05

Forgotten Freshness 4 is my favorite Forgotten Freshness yet. We get a glimpse as to what the sixth joker's card could've sounded like with Mike E. Clark's remixes of "Homies" and "C.P.K's" which are both improvements over the originals. "If You Can't Beat 'Em Join 'Em" and "Dear ICP" are old school songs from ICP's heyday. Mack 10, Tech N9ne and Vanilla Ice all make great guest appearances on "Nobody Move," "Madhouse" and "Swallow This Nut" respectively. If this album is any indication, it appears that ICP's music is taking a turn for the better, and hopefully the Tempest will pull ICP out of the dark ages and remind us all of why we started liking ICP in the first place.
