4 out of 5 stars Excellent CD.......2007-07-30

One of the best movie soundtracks of all time, if you liked the movie as much as I did you will love the feelings the music gives you. Took off a star because it need "Something in the Air" by Thunderclap Newman, that song always reminds me of Kingpin.

4 out of 5 stars Song at beginning of tournament in Reno.......2007-07-14

The song (not on soundtrack) that is playing when Munson throws the first strike at the Reno tournament is called Something in the Air by Thunderclap Newman.

Call out the instigators
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now .........

5 out of 5 stars Good Debut.......2006-03-30

This album came correct, skinny had never sounded this great this and will probably not again. If you like 3-6 or skinny pimp u should buy this. The rest of his albums dont match to this, the beats are bumpin too mainly cause it was produced by Paul & Juice. Check out songs like "Ya'll ain't no killaz" "I don't love em" and "All about them prophets".

5 out of 5 stars King Of Da Playaz Ball - Kingpin Skinny Pimp.......2003-04-28

The best solo release from Prophet Entertainment. Some of the best beats post Mystic Stylez by Paul & Juice. As the two have grown as producers, unfortunately Skinny has dwindled as a rapper resorting to recycled lyrics.

5 out of 5 stars Skinny Pimp's Best Album, Period........2002-05-11

Back in the Prophet Entertainment days, Skinny was one of their best artists. Now they are beefin' but this came out back when Three 6 and Skinny was cool. It is a Memphis classic and a cd that every Three 6 Mafia and Skinny Pimp fan should have. It's one of the best rap albums ever made end of story. GET IT NOW!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars ILL STR8 PIMPN SKINNYDA NIGERO.......2001-11-07

THIS ALBUM IS THE FOUNDATION ON WHICH PROPHET WAS MADE A MUST 4 A REAL LYRICAL (***) ADMIRER. SKINNY SHINES ON SONG AFTER SONG. SO YO FEEL ME YOU OVERSTAND ME HUH THIS IS DA REAL (***)OF DA RAP GAME. SO PUT DIS IN YO BOX. CAUTION:BONE FANZ BEWARE CUZ DIS CAT PUTS DEM SICX FEET.

5 out of 5 stars I got hoes on the track fool.......2001-07-19

What can I say negative about this album? nothing at all dj paul and juicy J were the producers of this cd and you can tell cuz the cd is poppin. Skinny pimp with his gangsta lyrics expressing his every day life from pimping to pulling of heists and putting niggas six feet under. This cd included almost every body from three six mafia but one of my favorites were I don't love em feat gangsta boo. Just another nigga representing the m-town!

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2004-08-18

I have to respectfully disagree with the other two reviewers. I have been a fan of Tinsley's since the days of the Heartfixers and this disc has almost NONE of his distinctive guitar on it. David Z has made significant contributions to CDs by other guitarists (Kenny Wayne Shepherd) but this is just a bad fit. The material is very weak and if it wasn't his first (and only) disc on this label I would think he just put it out to fulfill a contractual obligation.

Any one of his Alligator CDs along with the records he did with the Heartfixers are better than this, and his last disc on Telarc, Hell or High Water, was his best CD in years and restores him to his rightful place as one of the premier white blues players alive today.

5 out of 5 stars DOESN"T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.......2004-07-08

This has shot straight to the top of my blues hit parade. I'LL BE LOVING YOU is worth the price on it's own. In my book one of the best songs ever recorded ( no kidding ) and some of the most emotional guitar playing in my collection. It brings tears to my eyes. I even had to fight the wife for the volume knob on our stereo. She beat me to it, but to my utter surprise she increased the volume ( as I had intended ) and not reduced it. That is one of the greatest compliments she has ever paid to any CD. This CD is close to blues heaven and there is not a weak track or a dud note to be found. Great vocals, great songs, good lyrics and outstanding guitar work. BUY IT!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Cool & Unusual Tinsley Ellis CD!.......2003-03-01

This one sounds different, since it was produced by David Z and has a very moving modern sound. It's one of his top 3 CDs! The standout track here is "Got to Use my Imagination."

    5 out of 5 stars He's ill.......2004-10-12

I know Chingo Bling personally, he's not degrading Latins, he's reppin us. If you knew him, you'd understand. The things he says in his music are those that the dudes we hang also would say or use all the time. His music shows that Latins can be credible and funny. If he wasn't a real rapper he sure wouldn't be makin hits with Don Cisco, who takes music really serious. He makes some tyte music and if you're lookin for the perfect jams to throw in at a party to get people hyped... you've found it. Especially listen to "Swing on Deez Nutz" he comes sick with it in that song, but also makes you laugh. Guys can relate, and if nothing else, girls get turned on. If you're offended you don't know much about rap. It's a cool cd to listen to kickin it with friends and when you're tryin to dance, take it as a grain of salt the things he actually says.

3 out of 5 stars Funny, but is it right?.......2004-05-19

I might be taking Chingo Bling too seriously, but he is on a come up, alot of hard working underground Latin rappers have been at it for long and haven't come up. Chingo came into the game not that long ago, and isn't a real rapper and is coming up fast, it kind of makes you think about the industry. Some say his lyrics are creative, but then again it's really easy to write funny lyrics if you're a spoof rapper like Chingo is. But is what he is doing right? If you really see it, he is exploiting Latin culture, basically making fun of it and he is a stereotype of what alot of people think Latinos are like. So for that I don't respect what he is doing, people will look at Chingo and clown the next Latin rapper trying to come up, this is how it begins when you degrade people like this. Yes it's all for fun, and yea Chingo is funny, but it's just getting too widespread for it to be respected by me, if anything he makes us look bad and only makes the stereotypes towards us even stronger. Why is someone going to want to listen to a recommended Chicano rapper after listening to Chingo Bling, they won't take it as serious. If none of this bothers you, cand you're in for a laugh, get this cd. But just remember what you're putting your money into. I don't know is he really deserves the fame or not, personally I don't know what type of person he is, but I think it just makes more room for people to make fun of us.

      5 out of 5 stars Tight.......2006-10-21

Now let me start off by saying I'm usually not much of gangsta rap or even southern rap. There are a few southern rappers who I do happen to like such as cunninlynguist and outkast but Kingpin is a lot different. I do not agree with a lot of his subject matter but this dude has the tighest flow. He may rap about uninteresting things but I give him a lot of props for finding a way to make his boring topics entertaining with his beats and flow. Its a very nice CD to just kick back and chill to, or blast up with the bass blaring.

      4 out of 5 stars Skinny Skinny.......2006-07-08

Nowadays Skinny just aint snappin to his full potential. This was it though. The beats were straight but his flow was what made this album. that was rare for memphis rap at the time. get this and king of the playaz ball. after that, skinny got on that talking flow that he does today. its annoying because you know he could do better and he just talking over a beat basically to say he put out an album.

      5 out of 5 stars Classic.......2006-03-27

This is his first cd. It is classic! From top to bottom there are no bad songs.

5 out of 5 stars 10blazin ebay underground tapes seller.......2005-04-11

this album is skinny best in my eyes i have all his others but this is the bomb real memphis underground style track 2 gimisum is the real underground demon sh.t i think the other guy in this track is carmike a 36 affiliate back in the day his album was called comin at yo ar,e which i also have the first track skinny but dangerous is heavy aswell also track 4 drop it off is wicked i have this on underground tapes its slightly faster but is a wicked memphis track honestly if you think any memphis after 2000 is better than this you dont know wot you talkin about this whole album is good sh,t and a must for real memphis fans

      1 out of 5 stars Edited review.......2003-05-08

Skinny Pimp has to be the most repetitive rapper in the industry. Don't waste your money. He should stop talking trash about Three 6, because he's not any better. You know why he's an "underground" artist? BECAUSE HE [is bad].

      4 out of 5 stars I've given this 4 stars...........2005-11-23

mainly because the first 3 tunes to this CD are FIRING.'Do the Right Thing','Pump It Hottie,'We Rock the Mic Right, are tunes any self repecting New Jack Swinger would need in their collection. The summer of 1989, was filled with 'Do The Right Thing, as the Redhead one kicks his lyrics on the positive tip.'Pump It Hottie', about females going for theres on the dance floor. 'We rock the mic' is a laid back bragging-rap, which flows along side Reds lyrics.

The rest flows along nice, but after these three choice cuts, nothing comes close.

4 out of 5 stars old school rap at its best.......2003-06-23

I'd get this just to hear do the right thing which should have been on spike lee's soundtrack around that time song had a positive message and yeah pump it hottie I requested that song jusat to see this girl dance back in 89.

      5 out of 5 stars Amazing!.......1999-06-28

Amazing music from an amazing band. Makes every evening and every event much more entertaining! Songs have a very up beat tune and a point behind the lyrics which is refreshing to hear in today's music.

5 out of 5 stars THE SIREN SIX! are amazing!.......1999-04-27

Young And Professional is some of The Six's best stuff. A Voice With a Built in Promise was an amazing album as well. This cd is short but sweet. And my favorite song is "Back is Breaking". The Siren Six! are begining to change their style to match their favorite band, The Pixies, but I love their new stuff as well.

5 out of 5 stars Kingpin Skinny Pimp tight ..........2003-01-06

This is one of the best albums by Skinny Pimp. The production is done very well. Each track is worth bumpin and the beat are tight. Worth buying.

5 out of 5 stars skinny at his best pimpn.......2002-09-03

Kingpin Skinny Pimp, a long time rap hustla in Memphis, has pimped his last record from his trunk. For the this record should propell him to the next level of ghetto success. The already hot track "TV'S(23'S & WANG)" is undeniable to those who like to ride clean and wang the system in the trunk. While traks like "Bust ya gunz" ... keep long time skinny fans pleased with his no joke street thuggin style. The albums other hot traks "do what you do" and

"kickin in ya door"(the later looped with a familar sample that will have you hooked)provide the albums pinnacle of posse cuts. For the pimpin at heart "running wild" will have you juiced on the slick lyrics and the Marvin Gaye laced beat. What sets this record apart from his others is the styled production(Slisce Tee,Dj Squeeky,Hurricane, and the rest of The Rap Hustlaz fam.) and the overall feeling of skinny still pimpin hard without missing a beat.
