Heavy Starch [Explicit Lyrics]
Editorial Reviews

Nelly's multi-multi-platinum Country Grammar casts a long shadow over the rest of the St. Lunatics crew, so one would think that as the crew's elder statesperson, Ali would do something, anything, to distinguish himself. Sadly, he doesn't veer too far away from the pathetically predictable hooks ("Ore Ore") or simpleton catch phrasings ("Wiggle, Wiggle") made famous by his stable mate--and this release suffers as a result. Clearly, Ali's selling point comes when he's in his no-nonsense, braggadocio lyrical mode ("I Got This," "No") or parodying subjects like the church ("Collection Plate") and class-combo women ("Boughetto"). But the vast amount of filler sullies his occasional attempts to wax about poignant subject matter such as safe casual sex ("Crucial"). Ali is on cruise control here, and it shows. --Dalton Higgins

$1.28 defentely worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11.......2004-09-04
defenetly worth paying the slim used price on this site. Its a crazy album. The last track is extended. its about 15 minutes long and its got like 4 hot songs packed into it. One has a bunch of mcs from the stl; just spittin and its hot.
Ali- Heavy Starch.......2004-07-19
Nowadays its popular for rappers to bring the crews they came up with on to commercial rap scene. In Nelly's case its the St. Lunatics. The first member to drop after Nelly is Ali with this release "Heavy Starch" (2002). Unfortantely Ali does not have the ability to carry himself solo, dropping many hurting tracks like "Wiggle Wiggle" which are less then memorable. The production is really average, and the content is played out beyond belief. The only standout track comes late in the album "Beast" is laced with a impressive rising beat, and Ali drops some nice verses. The reviewer from Cashville dropped some good points. I think the only people who would want this album would be diehard Nelly/St. Lunatics fans, for the rest of us who listen to a variety of Hip Hop this is one to avoid.
VERY DISAPPOINTING.......2004-04-13
It seems like everyone is scared to say how bad this album is because they love Nelly. Nelly is good, Ali is bad, very bad. He is okay in the St. Lunatics buy cannot carry a song by himself, and this is terrible!
Ali is the man.......2003-09-12
Heavy Starch is one of the best rap albums I have ever heard everyone loves nelly right now but I have to tell you Ali is much better
