Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz [Explicit Lyrics]
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
"It's 1999, my nigga," Snoop Dogg asserts on this posse album, which inaugurates his new Dogg House label. The problem isn't so much that its release comes in early 2000, but that the CD sounds like it was cryogenically frozen in late '93 and recently thawed. From its P-Funk samples to the overall Doggystyle vibe, Tha Eastsidaz owes nearly everything to the classic Death Row days; lyrically, Snoop and crew are likewise stuck in crime-'n'-bitches mode, but with little of the phrase-making skills of his best work. Serviceable at best, this disc sounds even lamer coming after the attitudinal advances of Dr. Dre 2001. Now there's a record maker who knows what time it is. --Rickey Wright

Long Beach In The House Once Again.......2006-03-22
Long Beach has been for a long time a breeding ground for smokin hip-hop artists and groups. Snoop Dogg gets Goldie Loc and Tray Dee and creates a rap supergroup. Tha Eastsidaz come together for a fully heated debut album. The album features those clean cut G-Funk beats that could only have come out of Long Beach, Cali. In fact, even though the album came out in early 2000, it has the magic and funk of a mid 90's G-Funk era album. DPG and Eastsidaz put the west back on the map with a phat album. Phat tracks like "G'd up" & "Got Beef" got mad radio play out in the west. Other standouts are the smooth "LBC Thang" where the homies rep their city. Then, there is "Be Thankful" where the trio, along with Warren G, Pretty Tony, and kam, give love to the ones that put them up on the game of life, over a nice, relaxing slower beat. it is a long album, 22 tracks (a few skits), and it is well worth the used space. The album is a G-Funk classic. West coast rap fans need to have this, and any rap fan could appreciate this hot release.
Good debut album from the Eastsidaz.......2005-09-06
Snoop gets 2 fellow Long Beach natives to release their debut group album. A good album and some of the better work Snoop did from 1997 - 2000. Snoop and Tray Dee each have a solo, Snoop is on 16 of the 18 songs, Tray Dee is on 13 and Goldie Loc is on 12. Guests are on a lot of the songs but the album is still solid. Production is good as well, from some of the better known producers on the west coast. Battlecat does 6, Meech Wells does 4, Goldie Loc & LT Hutton each do 2, and Warren G, Soopafly, Blaqthoven, and Jelly Roll all do 1. It has 1 almost classic, 8 to 10 good songs and the others are ok. A good album to have for their fans and those who like that Long Beach type rap.

Good for a rap album!.......2005-05-26
I'm not big into rap so everybody has thier own tastes i guess. I like this one very much. I think it is one of the best out there. This album offers rap the way it should be done instead of this mindless repetion you hear on other rap albums such as 50cent or what ever he calls himself. Trey Dee and Goldie Locke add what is needed to makes this a real classic in gangsta rap. The beats are awesome and the flow is great with the fillers that seem to fit. All you other so-called homies out there that gave this a bad review wouldnt know good music if it bit you on the head. But that is my opinion and that is all.
SNOOP'S BEST CD SINCE ''THA DOGGFATHER''.......2004-06-03
THIS WAS SNOOP'S BEST CD IN YEARS. ''TOP DOGG'' WAS ACTUALLY GOOD, BUT IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THIS! ON THIS ALBUM, SNOOP RAPS WITH HIS TWO HOMEBOYZ, GOLDIE LOC AND TRAY DEE. AND ON THIS ALBUM, THE OLD SNOOP DOGG SEEMS TO HAVE MADE A STRONG COMEBACK! BEST TRACKS ARE ''BIG BANG THEORY'', ''DOGGHOUSE'', ''TAKE IT BACK TO 85'', ''GIVE IT 2 EM DOGG'', AND ''GHETTO''. THIS IS THE MOST G'D UP ALBUM THAT SNOOP HAS DONE SINCE HE LEFT DEATH ROW FOR NO LIMIT! THIS CD IS DEFINITELY NOT TO BE SLEPT-ON!
