Ryde or Die, Vol. 2 [Explicit Lyrics]

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
The Ruff Ryders camp is at it again. After Eve and Drag-On's solo projects, the crew is hitting heads with their second group LP, a sequel to Ryde or Die, Vol. 1. Ryde or Die, Vol. 2 is a Swizz Beatz-produced compilation that sounds a lot like video games. Whereas the crew's first LP featured DMX prominently, this one includes hardly any songs with the dog himself, Eve, or most of the original Ryders. Ryde or Die, Vol. 2 seems to be more of an opportunity for junior rhymers of the double-R, such as Yung Wun, to show their skills. Vol. 2 also gives listeners a chance to hear guest appearances by favorites such as Twista, Snoop Dogg, and Scarface. One song that stands out of this solid effort is the Sheek (of LOX), Redman, and Method Man banger, "2 Tears in a Bucket." --Vanessa Satten

2 out of 5 stars When a series goes bad.......2007-07-16

When the first Ruff Ryders came out I could say I was bumpin it back to back but this one showed that they should have stopped while they were still ahead. What kills this one? 1. Swizz Beatz producing every track. 2. Weak guest appearances 3. Asinine skits(i.e Im a H O E and F@@@ Da Haters).
4. Repetitive material. 5. Wack newcomers to their roster. The Good: WW III feat Yung Wun, Snoop Dogg, Scarface and Jadakiss is the best song on this album. Styles P rips his solo joint Holiday in half and I hate to say it but Eve's Got It All featuring Jadakiss is alright. That's it.
The Bad: 2 Tears In A Bucket would have been great without Sheek's weak verse and that cruddy beat but Red And Meth's verses were straight. Larsiny featuring Yung Wun's Ryde Or Die Boyz is a straight filler and Larsiny's punchlines could be seen a mile away(Im not joking). Twista makes a decent performance on Twisted Heat but Drag-on's lame verses and the awkward sounding beat make the song impossible to be enjoyed. Speaking of Drag-on he drops a fillerific joint called Weed, Hoes Dough that makes you wonder why he was even signed in the first place and you can tell no effort went into that hook and song at all. The Ugly: Fright Night featuring Busta Rhymes and Swizz Cheekz is HOT GARBAGE!!! That has to be the most ludicrous hook since 30 Rocks by Eightball & MJG featuring Puffy. Jadakiss solo joint stinks because of an awful beat that sounds like hammered dookie. Not only does that joint reek but The Lox joint Go Head is also a forgettable track. Dishonorable mentions: Stomp featuring Trick Daddy and Yung Wun(!!!????!!!), DMX's The Great and Parle's Its Going Down.
Bottom Line: The Ruff Ryders series went down the tubes a little too quick. The second installment? That sucks! The thing thats even more sad is that the next to series got even worser than this one. Do yourself a favor. Stay away from this series as if it was a Deathrow Records release because its only going to get worse after vol. 4.

2 out of 5 stars There is nuthin good about this album.......2006-11-20

This is when I officially gave up on RR. Swizz beats is the worst producer in the world. All those chimes in his beats makes me wonder how many christmas songs he's influenced by. There is a couple decent tracks but not enough to get more than this. Some of the features shine but the horrible beats kill the track for me. WW3 to me is everything whats wrong with this album.

5 out of 5 stars Ruff Ryder Compliation - Nothing is Bad about this Album.......2005-08-04

This is the second album of Ruff Ryders. Swizz Compliation Part Two if noboies sure. And if you are. Then don't read this. This second album is like more Southeren Beats and They Still Rhyme The Same. Nothing is bad about this album. Just listen to it. It's more creative. And I give it 5 Stars because of that Styles P song. Holiday. Change the Chorus Lyrics and it will be better.

1. WWIII (With Snoop Dogg, Yung Wun, Scarface and Jadakiss)

2. 2 Tears in a Bucket (Method Man, Redman and Sheek Louch)

3. Got It All (With Eve and Jadakiss)

4. Ryde or Die Boyz (With Larsiny, Cassidy (He all Late [Cassidey]))

5. It's a Holiday (Skit) (Probably Drag-On, Styles, Yung Wun, and Jadakiss)

6. Holiday (Styles) (MY FAVORITE SONG ON THIS WHOLE ALBUM)

7. Weed, Hoes, Dough (Drag-On) (Better Luck Next Time)

8. **** Da' Haters (Skit) (Swizz is on the Phone with Busta Rhymes)

10. My Name Is Kiss (Jadakiss) (My Favorite Solo Song By Jadakiss on this ALBUM)

11. Twisted Heat (Twista and Drag-On) (Great Down South Beat)

12. Go Head (The Lyrics By Styles P and The Beat should Be For Him)

13. I'm a H-O-E (Eve and Drag-On)

14. Stomp (With Yung Wun and Trick Daddy) (Put this song in a Slow Pitch motion or something and then I'll rate this song)

15. Great (DMX) (Great Beat)

16. It's Going Down (Parle) (The GAYIEST SONG MADE BY A R & B Group)

4 out of 5 stars Barely a 4 star rating for the RR follow up Compilation.......2005-07-28

Volume 2 hit the streets just over a year since Volume 1 was dropped. The roster stays the same, except there is no Infa Red & Cross on this one, and you get Yung Wun & Swizz Beats. Not as good as Volume 1 but a little better then Volume's 3 & 4. As with volume 1, you get some big name guests as well as the RR camp and the first known verse of Swizz Beats' find, Cassidy, that I know of. 13 songs, like volume 1, but no classics and not as many horrible songs, it's more balanced. It has 2-3 almost classic tracks, 4-5 good songs, 3 ok ones, and 3 I skip. Production is decent, Swizz Beatz does 5 songs, Teflon, Mahogany, TJ Beats all do 2 songs, and P KIller Tracks & Parle each do 1. Another good one to get for fans of the Double R.

#1 - 8 (Snoop Dogg, Yung Wun, Scarface, Jadakiss)
#2 - 8 (Method Man, Sheek, Redman)
#3 - 5 (Eve & Jadakiss)
#4 - 7.5 (Yung Wun, Larsiny, Cassidy)
#6 - 9.5 (Styles -- tight beat)
#7 - 6.5 (Drag-On)
#9 - 7 (Swizz Beatz & Busta Rhymes)
#10 - 9.5 (Jadakiss -- nice beat)
#11 - 8 (Twista & Drag-On --- super fast rapping on this one)
#12 - 9 (Jadakiss, Styles, Sheek -- LOX)
#14 - 4.5 (Trick Daddy & Yung Wun)
#15 - 8 (DMX)
#16 - 4 (Parle)

4 out of 5 stars Off tha chain.......2000-11-13

This Cd is off the chain. Following the first compilation, this one bumps out the beats like never before. swiss beats, made the beats the illest. With tracks like world war 3 and twisted heats fast paced raps. This cd deserves the four stars i gave it. Ryde or Die Vol. 2 is hot. Buy it now

    3 out of 5 stars - blakdawg'z review of ruff ryders - ryde or die vol.2 -.......2000-07-31

i gotz 2 admit dat dis iz da worst ruff ryders cd i've heard - the beats in some of the songz are weak..(holiday)(ww3)..swizz beatz had killed some of da songz in da cd dat kould have been tyta' then xpekted - ay yo' but besydez all dat.. da kombo of rappa' are pretty ill and tyte intro of da new ruff ryders - the song 'got it all' iz da only good song on da cd and ova'all it'z a 3 yo' - blakdawg

4 out of 5 stars Very Cool CD.......2000-07-09

If you like rap/hip-hop, then you'll probably like this cd. My favorite tracks are 1, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12. This music is great for parties, and it's great music to dance to. I reccomend you get this cd.

    4 out of 5 stars Finally!.......2000-07-09

We've all been awhile waiting for the Ruff Ryders 2nd compilation, and here it is, comming at full speed! The Ruff Ryders in house producers keep the cd upbeat and pumpin'! A few songs are just a little on the weird side, but theres enough good songs to cover 'em up. Rappers like DMX, Drag-on, The Lox and others come together with a great cd, I sugguest you buy it. PD

4 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first one but good.......2000-07-08

The second compilation from the ruff ryders is ok. Its got a couple good songs on it like WW111, Got it All, 2 Tears in a Bucket, & The Great. I didn't expect this cd to be as good as the first ruff ryders because that was a awesome cd, but this is a little worse then i suspected. But as long as your a big rap fan or ruff ryders go get this album.
