A little over a year after his poorly released debut, Cassidy returns with "I'm a Hustla." With the title track being the first single and sampling Jay-Z, Cass got lots of radio spins yet again. On this album he vows to show he's street side and forget about all those radio friendly tracks that filled his last album. Will Cass live up to his word or go 0-2 with another wack album?

Wow this album is very impressive! Cassidy kills every track and even the few ladies tracks are good. He definitely proves he got skills with this album. Check it out for sure if you like street rap mixed with some commercial appeal.

Standout Tracks:THE PROBLEM VS. THE HUSTLA, IM A HUSTLA, ON THE GRIND, B-BOY STANCE, CANT FADE ME(minus cassidy's verse), GET EM, 6 MINUTES, THE MESSAGE and IM A HUSTLA REMIX. Filler: Crack(wack is a better title), A.M to P.M.(stupid lyrics stupid!), C- bonics(even dumber than a.m. to. p.m.) and Bellybutton. Bottom Line: Cassidy came back with album that was 100x better than Split personality which sucks donkey balls by the way. His rhymes were up to par and the production was not bad. Question: Why didnt he make this album first instead of that hip pop mess Split Personality? Doesnt he know that doing stupid s--t like that kills your buzz? If you skeptical about this album being good dont worry its not garbage like Split Personality. I didnt regret picking this one up.

This album is close to a 5/5 but a couple of poor tracks lower it to a 4. Cassidy is not the best mc or lyricist, but hooked up with Swiss Beatz to make a good production with very good beats on this album. "I'm A Hustla", the first single, brought instant attention towards this album which was well deserved. There are a few good calaberations here as well. Overall this was a better output than Cassidy's debut.

4 out of 5 stars Getting Closer To His Roots.......2006-02-21

None of Cassidy's rhymes are necessarily battle rap but more punch lines about nothing really serious to give you a few laughs. He's the type of lyricist to attract more mainstream because of his punch line style and for it he had been crowned king of punch lines for the past few years. Though I'm a hustla is a decent release and finally Cass is coming back to where he belongs this album still lacks a few things. For one he should of used more strict beats to show his lyrical talent and he does do it on tracks like Get 'Em and The Message but he needed more. The Problem Vs. The Hustla is very creative and it's hot that he's letting people know where he wants to be in hip-hop. Truthfully this album may remind you a little bit of Memphis Bleek's The Understanding and I compare the two in the way Bleek's lyrics were good but the production outshined him and it was too commercial and people didn't take to it to well. This is a great release, the punch lines will give you some comedy and something to think about and the beats will give your neighbors something to complain about. The best thing about this album is you can see Cass getting better and going after what he really wants.

Cassidy starts the album off with "The Problem vs. The Hustla" where he disses himself (Cassidy the Problem) from his debut album "Split Personality". Cassidy the Hustla disses Cassidy the Problem on his debut claiming he had sold out in order to get more sales and Cassidy the Hustla becomes the champion eliminating the personality of Cassidy the Problem and introducing Cassidy the Hustla. Cassidy the Hustla was all the one we expected rapping on "Split Personality" but we didn't get that but at least we get that now on "I'm A Hustla".

    This is byfar a Crazy album, destroys his first album cuz if you herd his first album like me you would dissliked it as there were only 5 decent tracks on that but this is a HOT album i am very impressed, Props to CASS he brought the FIRE!

    Yo this album will be cassidy's classic and also everyone's favorite in the future. This album truly shows how sick the boy is. Especially Am to Pm and also The Prob. vs. The Hustla, those are the best two tracks on the whole album. Cass U doin big man and I been down wit you since the first freestyles. Holla @ me.
