5 out of 5 stars the most brutal music to date.......2007-06-25

considering this album came out a couple of months ago as a freshman effort, it fuses surprising precision with its brutality. some of the most articulate heavy music to date, complete with schreeches that resemble mythical banshees. If Richard D. James were in a deathgrind band, it would be this one. Not for the fans of melody or common time signatures; it is for those that crave synchronized cacophony, dissonance, angst, and speed.

4 out of 5 stars Grind, Grinding, Ground........2007-04-20

with awesome songs like How to survive a Vicious Cock Fight, 8 Dead 9 if You Count the Fetus, Man-dude vs. Dude-brah and of course Good Christians Don't Get Jiggy With it Till' They're Married, its clear this band can write some killer stuff. The only problems with these great songs is that they're way too short. Seemingly short for the sake of being short. Just when you get really into a song its over which takes away from the greatness of the cd, if the songs could just have been a bit longer even by just a minute I think this band would be a force to be reckoned with.

songs like Paraphilia and Pogonotrophy however (both parts and should only be one part anyway) drag this album down. They really don't fit with the rest of the album and feel out of place. not to mention Pogonotrophy is a boring way to end the album. They're the two longest songs on the album but are also the slowest and least interesting in my opinion.

That being said this is overall an awesome release, completely brutal grind. The albums length however might be a factor to some. At just under 19 minutes is it really worth 15 bucks? If I'm paying roughly a dollar a minute for something there had better be a smoking chick on the phone telling me how great I am. However if you care more about quality than quantity this is the cd for you.

5 out of 5 stars alotta kids be hatin but only because dey handicapped.......2007-04-13

this cd is seriously super ultra monstriously amazing. new vocalist (although i was sad to see bear leave) actually kicked me in the balls 11 to 23 times with his voice alone. the guitar work is some of the most inventive, technical, and brutal i've ever heard. the bassist does pretty much everything the guitarist does and doubles the brutality of the breakdowns(i'll get back to those). the drummer i guess has a special kit that uses giant fists that instead of hitting the bass drum hit you in the groin/shoulder really really hard which just get's you pumped beyond all recognition when you listen to the album. i've heard a bunch of kids say this isn't grind.....it's tightpantscore........and that's cool. anyway if anyone tells you that they're wrong this is grindcore and it incorporates breakdowns and they're not coated with cheese. and now on to the breakdowns. they re-did all they're old songs and they sound alright (here take this pill i have to admit i was dissapointed with) but the breakdowns on the new stuff although not super slow are some of the most brutal, gut wrenching, testicle twist inducing things i've ever heard. how they do this while still keeping riffs and vocal patterns catchy i don't know but they do it anyway. this album is perfect and fox is the sickest vocalist ever. buy this disc especially if you're into tacking back sunday and bury your dead.

5 out of 5 stars Brutal Grind for Brutal Dudes.......2007-04-06

This record is definately fresh.

What to say, what to say.
We'll start out with the song titles.
Obviously these guys have a great sense of humor, with titles like "Good Christians Don't Get Jiggy With It Til' After Marraige" and "Baby, You Make Me Wish I Had Three Hands."
The lyrics are another story.
They seem to be very deep, they actually have meaning. Not typical grind lyrics, which is to say they aren't brutally violent.
The music, however, is brutally violent. From the first (well, second) track, the listeners ears are assaulted with deafening riffs, blistering drums, and head shattering vocals. The vocals are really what sticks out on this album. Chris Fox is amazing and can easily switch from high shrieks to low growls. The guitar work is amazing as well, and there is a lot of whammy bar use, giving it a very different feel than typical grind.
This is just a great album, it really captures the live energy they have, which, by the way, is insane. Do not miss your oppurtunity to catch these guys life, they do not dissapoint.

The title says it all if like jpop style of songs you will love these
new yorkers.

4 out of 5 stars Better Than Stylistic 3.75 stars.......2005-09-17

I don't know if they write their own lyrics or not...but the lyrics have greatly improved (and they were cool before!) along with their rap skills. These songs are great. This was the perfect "summer" CD, just like Stylistic was, back in 2003
My only complaint is that there is a bit too much of a "Hollaback Girl", cheerleader-like influence on some of the songs. A few of them have cheerleader beats that you can't really dance to (unless you like doing cartwheels and basket tosses in the club, lol) and even some cheerleader-like chanting in the background. This is annoying, but the other songs totally make up for it. Best, most danceable songs:
On My Lap
Fire Fire
Pump That
Yeah Yeah
Twisted
You Gotta Know <---rules
Keep On

4 out of 5 stars Brooklyn in the 718.......2005-08-02

I honestly loved this cd. There wasn't much that I couldn't like! The cheerleader anthems (which seem to be the current trend) made me do a retarded dance in my car. Which is fun when you have people watching and pointing. Although nonsensical, the cd was thoroughly enjoyable.

5 out of 5 stars C. U. Next Tuesday!!.......2005-05-11

I just got this album, and it's fantastic! Yay. Best album of the year.
