Getting boring now..........2006-03-24

I used to, no i still do, love necro and non-phixion. but this is just rubbish. each track sounds the same as the last 100 or so that have been produced in the last 2 years. yes, i agree with a few others reviewing this, ill bill is awesome and he does sound good on this album. but he is drowned out by this mr. hyde fellow. maybe its beyond my comprehension, but i can't quite understand what this guys tallent is. is he actually a rapper or is he actually a joke on the tracks? either way, he is certainly not good and if he is a joke then its only funny the first time and just painful as it goes on. it was suggested to me that it has become to hardcore for my tender old ears, but im not sure. its become to soft and is no longer shocking enough, a poor album.

WORTH THE WAIT.......2005-12-20

This album got held back a few times, so i had to wait for a long time for this to come out. But it was totally worth the wait. This is one of my favourite Psycho+Logical-Records albums for sure. I highly recommend this album to any fans of death rap.

Circle Of Tyrants.......2005-12-10

Alright, first and foremost, I have to say that most of the one and two star reviews below me were written by radicals that have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. To the guy that says that Necro is a "typical Jew", way to go. You've managed to show everyone reading this how weak minded you are by listening and believing typical stereotypes. You are the last thing that hip-hop needs. This review is coming from a non-racist, lover of all kinds of music.

First off, I believe the production to be outstanding and diverse. Sometimes you'll have a creepy horror movie sample coinciding with the evil death rap being spit, and others, you'll have bludgeoning metal riffs and live drums slamming through your speakers. If you liked the production on Necro's "Pre-fix...." album or Mr. Hyde's "Barn Of The Naked Dead" album, you be just as pleased with the production on this one. Also, something must be said about Necro's bass playing. The man is a madman on the fretboard. I've been playing bass for five years and still have trouble producing the groove that Necro so easily displays. It's not that it's difficult to play, it's just really groovy. It's the quality, and that's what matters.

The MCs are top knotch of course. I don't have a particular favorite because I think they all shine at different times during this album. Ill Bill is like a chameleon, he can rhyme about anything and make it sound good. Goretex spatters his usual drug-induced, metal music inspired rhyming. Hyde is as sick as always as he explains how he will torture and murder you. Necro is in top notch form as usual. I love the metal references he puts into the music. The man knows what he's talking about. He knows the metal scene. I know that rap and metal being blended together is nothing new, but if someone is to finally do it the right way, it's going to be Necro.

With all of this said, I'd like to say that all I have written was merely my opinion. I can't guarantee that you'll like this album, but I happen to love it. Listen for yourself and make the judgement.

Sad times............2005-12-05

Before anyone calls me a hater.... I am a big fan of Necro and his goons and have all of their cds including the rare instrumentals. The lyrics are on point. but Necro's production has fallen. maybe it is because he has produced so many albums.... I am not sure why he wont take outside production. I have said this before and i will say it again- Necro is a typical Jew. Yes- he is a monster on the mic. Yes - he can make some tight ass beats. but- he wants all the money to himself and does not want to spend one cent on outside production. 80% of all the beats he is making for the last 2 years are subpar or even worse! Why can't he see it as an investment to pay others to make beats for him? I mean- Illbill and Necro sound dope over other people's beats on "Street Villians" CD. In typical Hebrew fashion he gets extrememly greedy and wants to keep every penny to himself. If he expects to stay in the game- he must invest in other producers. People - especially his hardcore fans- are getting tired of his simple approach to production. Necro- stop being a Jew and take some money out your pocket to pay other producers.

complete disappointment- sloppy effort.......2005-12-02

This album is the latest in the steady decline of Psycho-Logical records. The lyrics on "Circle of Tyrants" never rise above the corny, played-out "i'll bludgeon you with a bloody knife" trash that was already unoriginal back in 2001. Ill Bill is the lone highlight of the CD, as his talent always shines, but Necro's monotone, single-topic verses are tired and cheesy. How many times can he tell us how much he likes gore and violence? Can this guy actually write something new, or is he just a broken record with no fresh ideas?

Mr. Hyde has got to be the most pathetic emcee in the undeground scene. He is a wannabe "grindcore-horror" rapper who sounds like Necro with down syndrome. Why do they let this idiot near a microphone? He is worse than the Flava Flav of Non-Phixion, and he is bringing down the whole group. I have to fast forward through his verses when I listen to the album because they are so hokey. Meanwhile, Goretex sounds shamefully weak, as he is forced to use studio punch-in's in on every single line. Does this guy have any breath control? Literally every line is a punch-in, making his verses sound disjointed and amateur.

Look, nobody was a bigger Necro/Ill Bill fan than me back in the day. This team used to produce classics, whether it was Non-Phixion's two CD's, Necro's first two albums, or Ill Bill's solo joints and mixtapes.

But man, the thrill is gone. Necro's beats sound monotonous and off-kilter. Necro's emceeing is choppy, simplistic, and grating to listen to. Hyde should be chained to a wall and banned from any production studios.

No wonder they had to keep delaying this album's release. Lord knows how shoddy the B-sides of this record sound, I cringe to think of it.

I just hope Ill Bill runs far and fast from these yokels, because they are bringing him down. Bill is a serious performer and artist, and these other clowns are destroying his chance at stardom. Necro should quit rhyming and focus on making the original, fierce banger beats he produced on albums like "I need Drugs" and "What's Wrong with Bill."

Much love to Psycho-Logical, but this album is a waste of time and money, and makes me worry about how future albums like "Secret Societies" are going to sound. I only gave this two stars because of Ill Bill, who remains a top-tier talent with blistering rhymes.
