Operation Stackola

In Luniz lingo, you got your playa (i.e. "player") and you got your playa hata ("player hater"). And when the twain doth meet, well, you have two things: trouble and fodder for a new rap. In fact, the Lunz's second single from this 1995 collection was "Playa Hata." The Luniz are self-proclaimed playas. Notes to the Luniz's debut CD posit the duo as crown-princes of the "crazy, comical, wild-side of gangsta hip-hop," but it's fair to say they're not loony in the Bugs Bunny sense of the word. The group's logo is a scowling cartoon figure draped in a used condom and wielding a handgun. Operation Stackola, is a loose concept album about the protagonists' criminal and sexual exploits as they go about accumulating money "by any means necessary." The twosome's contrasting rapping style and the booming beats assembled by eight different producers make for an involving album, but you don't have to hypersensitive to be bothered by the misogyny of "She's a Freak. And the N-word surfaces enough in the album's 16 tracks to make Mark Fuhrman feel at home. --Steven Stolder

Bay Area Cali had It lock'd during 95'........2005-11-06
Yes Indeed. This Is a must have c.d. These young catZ str8 outta Oak town Ca. They was putting It down. "I got 5 on It". Man please! This was a banger through out the ENTIRE world of hip hop. And I can't forget "playa hater" A diss record towards MR. EAST OAKLAND himself.....Too $hort! It was raw and uncut. However! Todd Shaw Or shall I say "TOO $HORT" Came back and hunting for heads. I mean $hort Dog didn't waste any time playin' with these kids. $hort Came.. $hort saw.. And ya know da rest. Still PPl this one Is a must have. These kidz got down for theirs. The luniz was spitin' fire for da 95'.
bay area classic.......2005-05-02
I got 5 on it. Every one knows that songs. I got this when I was heavey on the bay sound in 95. This album is the bomb and its kind of funny to, because of the slangs words they use and their clever wordplay. Just listen to song 13 where they use the barney songs chourus lyrics. THey have pimp songs, dance songs, smoke songs. I like song 6 the best ,its smooth. This is the begging of yukmouths career he went solo after the luniz broke up and he hot. He isnt a to comical now though he is more gangsata now. Check him out also. Get the luniz too.
Is this the best or what!!!.......2003-11-06
I believe that this cd is one of the greatest cd's ever made! If I could, I would reccomend that Luniz win an Emmy, Grammy, an Oscar, and a Music Award! It is a must own album that every rap fan should have!
