Venni Vetti Vecci [Explicit Lyrics]

Without DMX, there would be no Ja Rule. When the gravelly voiced Dark Man X bum-rushed the rap world, he paved the path for a whole slew of next-generation leathernecks with flows to match. That being said, Rule is a worthy adversary for his oft-maligned peer, managing to combine DMX's signature stuttery, acerbic flow with just a hint of Jay-Z's flash and wit. The production, handled largely by Irv Gotti, is trademark New York thug style, suiting Rule's grumbles to a T. Yet amid the tales of "murda" (and there are many), there are some moments of insurgent sunshine. "Race Against Time" is the thug's lament, no less potent for its obligatory nature. And on "Let's Ride," Rule winks at the ladies, telling them "My style is so touching, it'll wipe your eye." To boot, he prints his lyrics in the booklet, an all-too-rare phenomenon in rap. Caesar he ain't, but emperor for a day? Certainly. --Jon Caramanica

Ja Rule - Venni Vetti Vecci.......2006-10-18
After appearing on Jay-Z's 1998 smash hit, "Can I Get a...." off his album, "Volume 2: Hard Knock Life," Ja Rule's debut became highly anticipated. His rugged voice and flow made him stick out amongst most rappers in the New York rap scene. Signed to Irv and Chris Gotti's Murder Inc Records, Ja's debut album, "Venni Vetti Vecci" was released in Summer of 1999 spawing the hit single, "Holla Holla."

This a very impressive debut album from Ja Rule. He mixes up his tracks with street records along with some commercial appeal which goes nicely together. Check it out if your a fan of Ja Rule, DMX, Murder Inc or New York hip hop.
You've Gotta Be Kidding Me.......2006-09-03
Ja Rules best work sounds like Chingy's worst work. Well yeah Chingy is crap as well but at least he doesn't lie to everyone and steal Pac's words and try to act like him. Ja, stop thinking that Pac would roll with you. If Pac was still here he'd diss you, oh no wait. If Pac was still here you wouldn't even be in the game so shut up.It's no wonder 50 disses you so much. And stop talking like your so gangsta, Everyone outside your blind legion of fans knows that your a fake. How dare people have the nerve to call this rubbish straight hip hop. You want straight hip hop? Get yourself one of these.

Not a classic.......2006-07-04
But a good debut album. This is when I felt proud knowin Ja was from ny. No radio friendly s*** here just street for the most part. But i guess when you were never really gangsta in the first place you can't keep talkin about it, which is why i guess he changed his style. Now the subject i wanna hit. Has anyone noticed that guy named progressive? Why does amazon allow goofs who hate hip hop trash our culture? And everytime I turn around its some damn rocker/junkie hippie. Last time i checked Rhythm and melody was part of music. I dont hear none of those when i through on heavy metal or rock. I'm tired of our music bein trashed. You know what im a go trash one of they "artist" right now.
Ja Rules fans are dumb as hell! READ THIS.......2005-11-22
Yo i hate when people like ja dont speak the truth. He talks about all this (...) like he went through it but hes just lying. He's a WANKSTA and im not sayin that cause i support 50 cause i hate 50. But hes got a point when he talks about ja. If your a ja fan you are being lied to and wasting your money when your supporting a true wanksta. Yo ja stop stealing Pac's words if he were alive he would never role wit you. If you want to be lied to and hear the most annoying voice and waste your money by this album or other ja albums.
ja rules best work.......2005-10-01

A poor CD in my opinion........2001-07-28
Ja Rule is a good rapper, he has got good style whether he be rapping or singin he is good but this cd isn't very good. Maybe the explicit version is a lot better but Ja Rule, DMX and the other artists that feature all use explicit language too much. So if you are gonna get this cd get the other version! Or pick up his newest lp "Rule 3:36" for some cool party tunes!
Ja Is The Best Rapper Ever & It Shows On This Cd.......2000-08-15
I always liked Ja rule & he was always my favorite rapper. Although i didn't start liking him that much until this cd already came out. So finally I decieded to get this cd & it is as good as I expected (which was very very high), maybe even better. There are tons of good tracks on it. First off "We Here Now" is pretty good, same with "E-dub & Ja", "Daddy's Little Baby", "Kill em All", & "It's Murda". But there are better songs, "Worlds Most Dangerous" is probably my favorite track, "Lets Ride" is also really good maybe 2nd best. Then "Holla Holla", the hit song is next, but "Suicde Freestyle" with Case is better. During the song hes got a kind of BTNH thing going on, the next track "Story to Tell" is another of the better tracks, its good a good beat, its a lot like "Tales From the Darkside" by DMX on the Irv Gotti compilation. Then lastly there's "Murda 4 Life" with Memph Bleek, that's another really good track, then "Only Begotten Son" is the last good track on this cd & it is very good at that. So no matter what style, what fan you are, i guarenttee you will love this cd. I can't wait til Ja's next album.
A Sweet mix of Hip-Hop.......1999-10-22
I think this is a phat cd. Ja Rule has a good fast-pased beat to most of his songs.I rate it as a 5star cd.
JA RULE MURDaS ALL MCs.......1999-09-09
First off, you need to hire better writers (and yes I AM a pro writer for real things like VIBE, XXL, Source, BLAZE, etc.)
Your man says there would be no Ja Rule without DMX? Ja Rule was doing that style way before DMX, and any real writer or fan would know that. ever heard of Cash Money Click? Ja Rule has been in the game for a minute...
And he shows it on this hot "debut" as he teams with Irv Gotti and Erick Sermon for head cracking turns. Who couldn;t feel this album?
Basically i aint here to review, only to let you know content matters--SO EMPLOY SOME WRITERS WORTH THEIR MONEY email me at darience@yaho.com if you need some.
BUY IT!!.......1999-08-03
This CD is off the hook. The lyrics are tite. He raps about truths and he is a good rapper at that. Not like those other rappers that need to go to speech class. Any ways, I reccomend this CD. 'Holla, Holla" is the most popular song now, but there are better songs on this CD. Buy it people on the real! Its tyte! Laterz ya'll and if u have n e comments Email me.

His best album period!.......2007-03-03
This album came out before Jarule became Jafool. This is the only album from him that I will endorse. Standout Tracks:LET'S RIDE, HOLLA HOLLA, KILL EM ALL, N****Z THEME, SUICIDE FREEESTLYE, STORY TO TELL, IT'S MURDA(classic matchup with DMX and Jay-z), E-DUB AND JA, DADDY'S LITTLE BABY(touching tribute to his daughter and Ronald Isley on the hook was the icing on the cake) and RACE AGAINST TIME. Filler: I cant recall any at this present time. Bottom Line: This is Ja Rule's best album period. The production was great, the lyrics were not bad and the were no girlie tracks on here. Its kind of unfortunate that he went pop and destroyed his own career but that's how the cookie crumbles. This album is for anybody who wants to remember him for who he was and not the pop icon he is now.
