9th wonder does it again.......2006-10-16
Just purchased this for £8,to call it a bargain is the understatement of the year. This comprises of 3 cds.Legacys Project Mayhem boasts superb production from 9th as well as khrysis. As a rapper Legacy drops thought provoking intelligent lyrics, with an obvious passion for what he does.Khrysis production has really made strides. This is clearly evident on The Away Teams National Anthem which comprises of himself and rapper sean boogie,i have to be honest i didnt expect a lot from this but its a long player that grows on you. However the real jewel in the crown is 9th wonders dream merchant volume 1.Music wise you cant pigeon hole this mans production because he encorporates so many different sounds and influences,16 tracks and not a weak one. This is hip hop at its finest
Buy this now!!.......2006-03-16
If you like Little Brother, then buy this 3-cd set because it is incredible. Trust me you will not be sorry.

Pretty Much A No Brainer (4 Stars).......2005-08-18
Here's a review for all three albums:
9TH WONDER REVIEW: 4.5 Stars
This is pretty much an unreleased album from 9th Wonder's vault. If you're at all familiar with 9th's work, then you know what to expect here and he doesn't disappoint either. There are a couple tracks that some folks may have heard already (Speed, Soul Dojo, etc..), but they aren't songs that you'll mind hearing again. And when is Kiesha Shontelle gonna drop an album? I've been waiting for her to get her break for a minute now. Shorty can rhyme and sing and she should get a lot more attention that what she is getting. But as a whole, The Dream Merchant Vol. 1 is a banger. Nevermind the 2 or 3 mediocre joints, the rest of the album will completely overshadow any mediocrity. Highly reccomended.
Standout Tracks: Strained (My Favorite), Speed, A Letter To Sick L (1980 - 2001), Soul Dojo, Too Late, & Almost Genuine

THE AWAY TEAM REVIEW: 3.5 Stars
Hmmm....what can I say, as far as beats go, this is one of the best albums released by the Justus League camp. Khrysis is an awesome producer, but Sean Boog needs to become more consistent. There are too many tracks where Boog is either:
a) kicking suspect rhymes
b) being blown away by the guest contributors, or
c) both
That's the only shortcoming I can think of. The production is great (with the exception of the disjointed "Always Be Around" which is actually saved by Boog's good subject matter).
There are moments where Boog steps up his rhyme scheme and delivers some good material. On tracks like "F*ck You", "Always Be Around", "One N Only" and "The Shining", Boog does a better job of showcasing his talents. It's moments like this that make the album worth checking out. It makes me wonder why he doesn't rhyme like this on the entire album.
The Away Team does show some potential. Khrysis is doing a great job of creating his own niche and stepping out from behind the huge shadow of 9th Wonder. With that being said, the X factor is Sean Boog. He'll have to step up his rhyme scheme and become more consistent in order for this group to reach the next level because it takes more than just energy to become a dope MC.
Standout Tracks: F*ck You, Come On Down feat. Smif N Wesson, The Shining, Likka Hi (Last Call), Make it Hot feat. Phonte & Joe Scudda (My Favorite), The Blah Blah, and UpNAtem

L.E.G.A.C.Y. REVIEW: 3 Stars
L.E.G.A.C.Y. is next up to bat for the Justus League and for this reviewer, the results are mixed. Legs definitely has some rhyme skill, but the album doesn't have the diversity it takes to hold ones attention. 9th Wonder and Khrysis handle all of the boardwork for Project Mayhem. The production is good, but not the jaw-dropping stuff you've come to expect from 9th Wonder and the underrated Khrysis. I'd say it ranges from pretty good to average. On tracks like "I'm A Star" feat. Chaundon, Median, and Joe Scudda, the beats are tight, but the lyrics don't do them any justice. And someone needs to tell Joe Scudda to put the mic down and slowly back away from it. Dude has zero rhyme skills.
But there are some strong cuts to be found. L.E.G.A.C.Y. shares some vivid lyrics about his life struggles on "Pain In Life" and "Broken Heart Disease". Also, Leggy Hendrix and Phonte team up on "Pure" and they both turn in impressive performances. As shown on "Imperfect World" feat. Kiesha Shontelle and Percy Miracles (Phonte's singing alter ego), L.E.G.A.C.Y. is at his best when giving social commentary or telling stories. This is the L.E.G.A.C.Y. that I pay to hear.
Project Mayhem is a solid release, but too many of the songs sound the same whether it's the beat or Leggy's subject matter. There are some great moments, but the album doesn't shift gears enough and as a result, as the previous reviewer said, it's kind of boring. Project Mayhem lacks the energy to create any kind of buzz.
Standout Tracks: Pain In Life, Pure feat. Phonte (My Favorite), Mayhem, Fast Girls, Too Long, Insomnia, Imperfect World feat. Keisha Shontelle
3 Justus League Albums for $20 ... DONT GET ANY BETTER.......2005-07-01
For the past 5 months or so I have been digging into the underground of hip hop. Once I heard Little Brother and 9th Wonders work I had to check out the whole Justus League crew. This was the perfect opportunity to do so. And lets say Im not the slightest bit disappointed.
I love Dream Merchant Vol. 1 from 9th Wonder... and cant wait for vol 2 to drop. Every track on the album was produced well. And everyone in the Justus League crew can flow. I heard about the Away Team in the new Scratch magazine (I think thats were I read abou them) and I had to check them out. Same with LEGACY... both albums are very strong releases.... I see the Justus League getting bigger in the next few years.
9th Wonders album was the best because you get a little of everyone and I cant decide which is 2nd between the other 2. THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR UNDERGROUND FANS!!! dont miss out on these albums!
the away team and LEGACY's album are coming out individually on July 12th. check em out
