This soundtrack serves up a collision of musical styles, as if the coolest radio stations of Tokyo and New York had suddenly melded into a giant hybrid. The Teriyaki Boyz' opening title track is typical: brilliant production by the Neptunes, East-meets-West mood, more hipness than you can shake a stick at. The Japanese hip-hop group's other offering here, "Cho Large," isn't quite as good but fortunately it's the rare lame-ish track on a CD that overall keeps things on overdrive. Highlights include DJ Shadow's collaboration with Mos Def, "Six Days (Remix)"; Japanese girl surf experts 5.6.7.8's (already familiar to Kill Bill fans) and their uproarious "The Barracuda"; Evil Nine's "Restless," which has the kind of monstrous bass line the Chemical Brothers would kill for; and Atari Teenage Riot's awesome display of digital-hardcore aggro, "Speed" (have these guys ever been used in Dance Dance Revolution?). Even a reggaeton track like Don Omar's "Conteo" somehow fits in this universe, fueled as much by gasoline as by testosterone. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

3 out of 5 stars *** if you've seen the movie, but some songs missing.......2007-06-18

I wouldn't have bought this without having had the sentimental attachment that goes with associating the songs with scenes from the movie [which isn't exactly Gone With The Wind, but the acting is great (albeit hokey at times); the action non-stop, the stunts amazing and the big "message" (aside from achieving it via mass casualties) is good.].
Unfortunately, like the other reviewers, I'm bummed that some of my favorite songs weren't included in the soundtrack. Which brings me to the real reason for posting here: Does anyone know the name of the song that is playing when Shawn arrives in Tokyo?

4 out of 5 stars If you liked the movie..........2007-06-10

...you'll definitely like the soundtrack. A few songs that were in the movie got left out as you can tell by previous reviews which is why it gets a 4.

What is the name of the song that is playing when the credits start to roll? It's a techno song and the lyrics I can hear are, "I rock, irock, irock, iroll..iroll..iroll, i rock i roll

3 out of 5 stars Decent..........2007-05-08

This soundtrack is pretty good except for one flaw that many other soundtracks tend to have, as well. They put tracks on the CD that you really don't hear too much in the movie, and the cool songs that you like and hear in the movie aren't on the soundtrack. Like what was the deal with the Spanish songs? The movie takes place in TOKYO! That's Japan for anybody who is geographically challenged. Why is Spanish music in an American/Japanese soundtrack? I would much rather have replaced those songs by Kid Rock or the Whisper Song that you hear in the movie, but they just so happened to leave them out.

4 out of 5 stars whats that song?.......2007-05-03

What is the song at the very end at the start of the credits right before "conteo" by don omar starts. It only plays for like 5-10 seconds, then it cuts off and don omar butts in, but the song is much longer. It goes something like, I rock (echo), I roll (echo). It is a techno song.

5 out of 5 stars Great Movie, Cool Tracks!.......2007-04-10

I'm not under 13, but the movie was tight and action packed. The sound track from the movie was great as well. One song most of you might not know about, was when Shawn and Han was riding together on the highway was called Mamacita by the one and only Skateboard P known as Pharrell. Its not on the soundtrack which sucks. But still a great soundtrack to buy.

Is there a rap fan out there who didn't like "The Message"? It took rap in an entirely new direction: while others were content to ride the "Double Dutch Bus" down to the disco, the Furious Five spoke out about social decay. The chorus of "The Message" ("Don't push me, 'cause I'm close to the edge / I'm trying not to lose my head / Sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under") describes the effect of Reaganomics in ways that Dan Rather never could. Of course, Grandmaster Flash and company weren't against partying. In fact, they cut some of the best party tracks in the genre's history ("Freedom," "The Birthday Party"), along with some battle raps ("Step Off," "Showdown") to complete the package. Copyright restrictions probably kept the beat-edit classic "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" off the track listing. Still, one glaring omission isn't reason enough not to pick this up. --Todd Inoue

AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR RAP OLD SCHOOLER'S. DELIVERY TIMEFRAME IS OUTSTANDING.

5 out of 5 stars Sure-fire Collector's Item.......2007-03-12

I can't imagine a rap fan out there who would argue that Grandmaster Flash & Furious Five were not one of the best of all-time. Recognized as one of the pioneers of rap, particularly for turning rap into mainstream music, Grandmaster Flash should be respected for his work and ability to work with multitude of talents. "The Message" has to be regarded as one of the most popular rap songs of all time, and possibly in any type of music. That hit has been re-made, mixed, and sampled so much that even youngsters that were born after the hit was recorded will recognize the sounds. "Step Off" was also a hit during the break-dance era of the '80's, and many fans found that song more enjoyable than given credit for. Speaking of enjoyable hits, who didn't enjoy "Beat Street" (from the movie Beat Street) back in those days? It has to be regarded as one of the most fun rap songs to memorize, and "New York, New York" is another one that many enjoy rapping themselves. "White Lines" is a hit that many initially had no idea what the meaning of the song was supposed to be, but many figured it out after a while, once drug usage in urban areas of the country became heavily exposed to the mainstream audiences. Original lyrics, street-cred, hip beats/sounds, and strong social messages... Nothing seems to be missing in this compilation. If you like old school, make sure you add this one!

5 out of 5 stars The Beginning of an Era .......2006-07-18

If you consider yourself a hip-hip fan (espically if you listen to most of todays garbage pop fake hip-hop, this is a must that you have this in your collection. Grandmaster Flash was one of the pioneers of hip-hop and even though this collection of songs was taken from the early 80's, it still holds up with its rawness. Its a shame that hip-hop has reached what it is today and the just arent enough hip-hop artist that do it just for the love of the music. Its a cruel world today in the music bizz, as most of the hip-hop artist of today are creations of some billion dollar record company and signs them to be the next MTV music hit. If you want raw, no nonsense hip-hop from the early days before artist cared about being #1 on TRL, this is a great place to start. ENJOY

5 out of 5 stars Grandmaster cuts faster.......2005-11-01

Extraordinary music. Listen to what DJ GM Flash puts together: the grooves are so carefully fashioned and leap out at you time and again. In particular I've never heard a funkier slap bass sound - ever.

And let's talk MCs. Why don't rappers these days attack the mike anymore like these guys did? Are they afraid it's not cool to be energetic? Well no wonder no one dances to rap music anymore. But when you listen to this - the grooves and the punchy vocals - you will definitely move your body.

Only problem is: when you get hold of any other Hip Hop after this you'll be disappointed that the DJs don't cut as fast and clean as this Grandmaster.

5 out of 5 stars The Quintessential 'Best Of' Collection.......2005-06-14

Like many of you, I've only heard "The Message" prior to purchasing this incredible 'best of' collection. As you probably know, Grandmaster Flash and company were recording the most popular rap songs in the early 80s. Most of these songs are stunningly wild and fun party jams. But in 1982, they released "The Message", which is considered to be the first rap song to be pushed from a novelty party jam, to a chilling prophecy, featuring effective social commentary. Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five built a rock solid bridge for Run-D.M.C. to step in, and push their "Message" even further, which eventually brought the hardcore edge to hip-hop. Whether you know it or now, their presence is still felt to this day, since hip-hop hasn't made that drastic of a leap since Run-D.M.C. (that's quite debatable). It also helped that the production was flawlessly perfect. It featured dub, electro, and R&B that was sure to hook nearly every listener of urban radio.

So if you're in the same boat as me, you're probably asking yourself, "Are their any other good songs from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five?". Well, the answer is yes. This is probably the best single disc best of collection you'll find from these guys. These are long infectious party jams. Many of which include the artillery of a large emcee battle, such as the epic Furious Five / Sugarhill Gang collaboration of "Showdown". A song I didn't think I'd like given the title, "The Birthday Party", actually turned out to be one of my favorites. Although, "It's Nasty (Genius of Love)" would have to be one of the most under-appreciated rap songs of all time. It's got one of the most clever attacks on the compilation, and will surely please any and all hip-hop lovers. They do tackle a bit more social commentary on tracks like "New York New York" and "White Lines (Don't Don't Do It)". The latter features hard hitting lyrics about the dangers of drug use, and probably the most effective lyrics in it's time, given the subject matter. The only knock I have on the album is the first track, "Step Off Megamix". It's merely a "megamix" of their most popular songs thrown into one track (recorded in 1994). It would have been nicer if they would have thrown in a old-school jam up front, or at least put this track at the end, since the original versions shine much brighter throughout the remainder of the album.

Overall, if you're into old-school rap, this is a great listen. It's chalk-full of groundbreaking historical material. If you're at all interested in the evolution of rap, from the pre-Run-D.M.C. days, then you owe it to yourself to check this out. One could only be happier about the completeness of this collection.

5 out of 5 stars To Call It Epic Would Be An Understatement.......2007-06-11

This album is perhaps one of the most listened albums in my house. This album has completely opened my eyes to the world of music. On the first few listens, I didn't think much of it, other than Clubbed To Death. But soon after, I began to listen and love every single song, especially "Drinking Song". Nothing puts my mind to ease more than it. It simply is a work of art, a beautiful craft of melodies. It has changed my life and the way I see things.

I await eagerly to see Dougan's future works.

Signed, Dougan's #1 fan.

5 out of 5 stars Fool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-03-02

Anyone who didn't buy this is a fool! This is a great and wonderful record. The music fills the room, and the videos are magnificent! This man deserves to, in the future, be remembered as the great composer of the 21st century. Just Listen!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars My new favorite album.... I think that sums it all up........2006-09-15

Rob Dougan was a techno artist that has released this fantastic techno masterpiece in 1996. "Clubbed To Death" was used in THE MATRIX (think: The intstrumental Hip-hopish song that plays during the part where Morpheus freezes time in the matrix) and that is where he got his popularity.

DISC ONE is not really my thing- His voice is kinda raspy and terrible.

DISC TWO is more like it- I listen to the instrumentals more often.

So buy this!

4 out of 5 stars Terrific Instrumentals.......2006-07-08

The Matrix soundtrack introduced to Rob Dougan. I was drawn to the instrumentals rather than the songs with lyrics. Buy it for the instrumentals.

5 out of 5 stars changed the way I listened to music.......2006-06-08

If you are like me you won't really like this album the first time through; but you will be thinking about it long after its over. You will put it in the cd player again to give it another listen and this is how Rob Dougan gets you. I have gone through 3 copies of this cd. Finally with the purchase of the iPod, I won't have to buy another one. The music is so beautiful and strong all the way through from start to finish. It takes you up and takes you down, it brings out so many different emotions its almost unexplainable. Furious Angels is probably my favorite album that I have ever purchased. I bought it in Kuwait on my way into Iraq when the war was kicking off over there. The calming effect of Dougan's music got me through so many tense nights when I didn't know if I would wake up the next morning. They say music tames the savage beast, it also calms the nerves of the ones affected by the beast.....
All the time the reviewers tell you the favorite songs, I have none really, I cherish them all the same. I can't tell you in words how well the album flows from track 1 to track 15. It is the kind of album you just don't skip ahead on, you listen to the whole thing like a story being told.
I don't know if this review will help anyone, but I just want to say how the music makes me feel inside. Rob Dougan offers you an escape from reality, if only for a little while.....

5 out of 5 stars Completely amazing score from Brian Tyler.......2006-06-28

This score for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is one of the best action scores I can remember. The opening tracks are intense and full. Brian Tyler's scores for Timeline, Children of Dune, Constantine, and The Hunted are also really great but I was really surprised by this CD. It is some of the craziest action music in years (I also really like "The Bourne Identity"). Check out the title track or "Downtown Tokyo Chase" with its pounding drums and powerful orchestra. The melodic side is cool too. The haunting "Neela Drifts" is probably my favorite track with its memorable acoustic guitar melody and its beautiful sound. There are guitars on here too including a track that both Tyler and Slash play on called "Mustang Nismo" which is from the section of the movie where the main character combines a Nissan motor and a Ford Mustang chassis. Great music for driving of course!

This album is ostensibly the soundtrack to the car-chase flick of the same name, featuring Gotti's own Murder Inc. soldier, Ja Rule. It's chock-full of samples previously utilized to better effect by Tha Alkaholiks, Dr. Dre, and Swizz Beats (who, on the misguided Limp Bizkit/DMX/Redman/Method Man combo, "Rolling," actually reworks one of his own beats). According to the liner notes, the album was "conceived and created by IRV GOTTI" (note the block caps), but it's unclear why Mr. Gotti wishes to take full responsibility for this half-baked mixture of posturing hip-hop and ineffective R&B. The most obvious clunker is the aforementioned "Rolling," which comes off as a wan retread of the Beasties' "What You Want?" Vita's right behind them with a pointless word-for-word cover of Madonna's "Justify My Love." The album's not a complete washout, though. R. Kelly steps in to save the day with the lovely "Take My Time Tonight," and Nate Dogg adds his inimitable brand of L.B. funk to Shade Sheist's "Cali Diseaz." And perhaps most notably, The Fast and the Furious offers a chance to catch Petey Pablo before he really grasps the brass ring. --Rebecca Levine

2 out of 5 stars A lot of filler to say the least..........2007-01-06

Yes, many have noted that the music here is not necessarily in the movie itself...but then again that's why there are two soundtracks for this film. This is the rap infused soundtrack that exists mainly because Ja Rule appears in the movie. That said, Ja Rule provides really the only track here that's worth listening to. His `Furious' (which appears on his album under another not so nice name) is the only track I really liked here. The Limp Bizkit remix was never better than the original, and the random tracks by almost every other rapper are just filler at best. Ashanti was nice to see, she's always great, as is Faith Evans, and I found myself starting to like the track by Caddillac Tah, but all in all this is just another compilation of tracks by artists you probably wouldn't listen to had they not been on this soundtrack.

1 out of 5 stars Stay away from this album.......2006-08-06

I put one star because it's the minimum, if not, I would've gave it zero stars. This CD can be reviewed in so few words... here are some:
NO!!!
Don't
Bad
Stay Away from it
I told you, NO!!!

In short, no music from the movie is here, and the music that is here... well, it might as well not be here, and it would it be better that way.

Summary: NO!!! don't get this CD, use the money in something else, get a hamburger or something

Ok, so the song playing when Brian goes and we see mia for the first time is a song called "Deep Enough (Urban remix)" by Live. I have the other songs written down, including the one played between the two buildings, so I will find them and tell you. If you all want only the songs that were actually in the movie, rent the dvd, and take about ten minutes to watch the credits and write down the song names and artists. That's how I have only the songs that are in the movie.

3 out of 5 stars 3 1/2 stars for doing better this time...........2007-01-08

Better than it's predecessor (soundtrack, not movie), `2 Fast 2 Furious' delivers on almost every track. Ludacris is a much better rapper than Ja Rule and so his two tracks are welcomed with open arms. Chingy, Luda's little prodigy, turns in a hit with `Gettin' It' and Joe Budden turns out a great little ditty with `Pump it Up' (actually played in the movie if you believe that one!) My favorite track here though is `Hell Yeah' by Dead Prez. It's just original and unexpected. Expect great tracks by Tyrese, Fat Joe & Trick Daddy not to mention a slew of other talented rappers. You may not love every song here, but you're bound to like quite a few.

Album Description

"A remarkable recording." - REPERTOIRE

The nature of Alexander's Feast is perhaps better summed up by its other title, The Power of Music. It is a celebratory ode for St. Cecilia's Day, written by Dryden in 1697 for the traditional celebration of the patron saint of music and set in celebratory style by Handel in 1736. At its first performance that year, he incorporated two delightful concertos, one for harp and one for organ, and these are included on this recording. Winner of the Deutschen Schallplattenkritic prize.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Spirited performance of charming work.......2007-03-10

This performance of Alexander's Feast is, in my opinion, exactly right for the work; beautiful, clear voices singing the solos with good diction, a lovely balance in the small chorus, and superb playing of appropriate instruments for the piece and for the period. The notes on the flyer are also excellent, presenting the background and intention of the work.

5 out of 5 stars Alexander's Feast - English version.......2006-02-26

This recording is a very complete version of Alexander's Feast, following the composer's practice of inserting other pieces to create a performance of appropriate length. Excellent soloists, orchestra, and chorus. A high quality recording.

5 out of 5 stars One of Handel's great works.......2005-11-19

I just attended a live performance of Alexander's Feast and I saw many people who probably never heard anything else than Messiah, suddenly finding out that there is more to Handel than Hallelujah chorus. This music is exciting and original, you may know several arias like "War he said is toil and trouble" or "Revenge!" but it is great as a complete work. It was written for St. Cecilia's Day celebration, then re-written several times, but it remains as a beautiful example of Handel's mastery in choral composition and writing showcase arias. The soloists are great, especially Ian Partridge, and the chorus is outstanding. This is a wonderful performance of one of Handel's great works.

5 out of 5 stars Handel's Great "Feast" in an Impeccable Rendition.......2005-08-22

"Alexander's Feast," Handel's 1736 setting of Dryden's ode in honor of St. Cecilia's Day (patron saint of music) is a masterpiece and a delight, but its odd length - too long for a mixed program, too short for a full evening - gave Handel trouble and apparently still presents a problem: this is at present the only recording of this inspired work in the catalogue, though some good ones have come and gone. Fortunately, this reissue of the Sixteen's 1990 version is first-rate, in fact the best I ever recall hearing, with chorus, orchestra, soloists and conductor all in top form. Furthermore, music director Harry Christophers has wisely chosen to include the two concerti - one for harp, the other for organ - that Handel inserted in his original performances. Not only do they lengthen the piece to a satisfactory 115', they serve a satisfactory dramatic purpose by representing respectively the power of music in its pagan form - the bard Timotheus's lyre represented by the harp - and Christian - Cecilia's (apocryphal) organ. Both receive sparkling interpretations here.
If you enjoy such Handel works as "L'Allegro..." and "Acis and Galatea," you will certainly enjoy "Alexander's Feast," which finds the composer in peak form, responding with eagerness to the high quality of the English verse before him. And it's hard to imagine a better way to get to know it than this wonderful performance.

With the exception of one new track--the cynically titled "One for the $," by the Sugarhill Gang and Melle Mel--and some commentary by Ice-T and Public Enemy's Chuck D, there's nothing on The Showdown that can't be found on other collections. The Showdown also skips some important classics--"The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" and Grandmaster Melle Mel and the Furious Five's "Beat Street" among them. Those quibbles aside, this collection does achieve its goals: by showcasing the Sugarhill Gang--who emphasized the party groove from which rap came--and the extended Grandmaster Flash family--who saw themselves as social messengers (pun intended)--side by side, the album brings to light the pair's differences and groundbreaking creativity. Looking back on them decades after the fact with ears accustomed to production gymnastics, we can occasionally--and criminally--miss this.(For a more complete look at the two pioneers of rap and how they fit in with their contemporaries, check out The Sugar Hill Records Story.) --Randy Silver

GREAT CUTS ON THIS CD! PURCHASED TO HEAR "THE MESSAGE", AND "RAPPER'S DELIGHT"--SURPRISED BY SO MUCH MORE, FROM EACH GROUP, OF SIMILAR MUSICAL QUALITY! "APACHE","NY NY", "LIVIN' IN THE FAST LANE"--"WHITE LINES" (SERIOUS, SOLID, OLD-SCHOOL, TIMELESS BEATS), JUST TO NAME A FEW.
ONLY DOWN SIDE TO THIS CD ARE THE SPOKEN "RATINGS" OF EACH SONG BY ICE-T & CHUCK D--A FEW SECONDS LONG, AFTER EACH "DUEL" (AFTER ONE SONG BY EACH GROUP). IT'S ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY, UNNECESSARY TO HEAR WHAT THESE TWO HAVE TO SAY--IF YOUR EARS WORK, THAT'S ALL YOU'LL NEED TO ENJOY THIS TREAT. JUST SKIP THE "REVIEW" TRACK AFTER EACH SECOND SONG. "SHOWDOWN" IS A SHOW-STOPPER!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CD!

Album Description

Furious George brings Lynch's guitar playing to a place it has never been in that the album is a collection of cover tunes with extensive guitar solos that will leave his legion of fans pointing and staring at the speakers in disbelief, as he navigates musical territory originally trod on by artists such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Grand Funk, Mountain, Jeff Beck, Montrose and more.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This is really good!!.......2007-07-30

I got this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Lynch's interpretation of these late 60's/early 70's songs is right on. It jams!!! I like the way he selected a few obsure and lesser known songs like "I want you/She's so Heavy", and "Precious and Grace". The songs that absolutely cook are "Bridge of Sighs" and "You Shook Me". Wow!!
When you get this expect him to follow the basic outline of the original song, but add enough of his own "signature" to make it worthwhile. It is far from a hard-core shred fest, but some of these licks are stunning, and I'm writing this after only one listen (many more to follow).
For those who rated this low because it didn't jam enough, I can only guess that you were never exposed to that era in music. The songs are of a slower tempo, but emphasize the guitar, and Lynch does a masterful job of delivering. The vocals are also top notch.
I bought another covers CD recently by Jake E. Lee called "Retraced". Jake is all right, but the vocals on that one ruin it. This is 10 times more enjoyable, go get it.

3 out of 5 stars it's not quite furious, but it is certianly george.......2004-11-19

this is not my favorite effort by post-Dokken George Lynch, but overall, this is a really well put together album. I initially thought that I might not have been the right mood to listen to it after the first few tracks, so I put the disc back on the shelf for a couple of weeks and gave it another try later. Originally, the idea of an all cover George Lynch album really got me excited. of all the 80's ubershread players, lynch always struck me as the sort of "dark horse" thinking man with soul who just happened to be in the band that did that embarrassing song for that one Nightmare on Elm St. movie that nobody wants to talk about or even admit that they watched. Furious George, while not my personal favorite, really stands out in the complete body of Lynch's work. even when he's laying down some guitar hero-esque solos on this disc, it really doesn't stand out or slap you in the face like a prison pillowcase filled with unopened soft drink cans. the tones Lynch pulls off on this album are somewhat smoother than the dark, yet piercing sound I generally associate with him. Furious George feels a lot more thought out and planned than much of Lynch's previous efforts like Lynch Mob's "Wicked Sensation" and Lynch/Pilson's "Wicked Underground." I don't feel like anybody is trying to give me a guitar lesson on this album and the complete work plays out like a collection of group-based material rather than a vehicle for Mr. Scary to melt my brain with his guitar sorcery and blazing solos. so why didn't I rate it higher? when I think George Lynch, I think of something my wife is going to forbid me to play in the car on long trips, or that will make my neighbor stop working on his motorcycle at 2:00 in the morning. frankly, if anything on this disc is over-the-top: it's the singing. it's almost like the producer dialed down the guitar tracks, and pushed the vocals to the front of the mix - odd, considering that this is supposed to be a solo outing by the group's guitarist. originally, it just sort of felt like the songs on this album were always winding up, and just about to go over the top and turn into a guitar shred fest... but it really never quite gets there. there's plenty of very trademark Lynch soloing on this disc, don't get me wrong, but he never really "freaks out" and just goes crazy the way I would have gotten REALLY excited about when I was 16. And that's really the problem. it's not the album, it's the fact that I'm still stuck in 1988 somewhere in my mind, and for whatever reason on the day I bought this disc, I really wanted to hear 4 minute guitar solos thrown to the front of the mix on every song. what I got was a well planed and executed ensemble work that truly serves the songs rather than Mr. Lynch's, or a 30 year old teenager's, ego. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves guitar music, or is just a big George Lynch fan. this is a great album, and I'm personally just a few more rotations off this disc before I get my brain adjusted and really get into it.

5 out of 5 stars Obscure Tunes ???.......2004-08-25

I have not heard the album, but question one of the folks who wrote a review dated August 7, 2004. They wrote "It's a bunch of (mostly) 70's-era rock & blues tunes, most of which I've never heard before". If you are not familiar with most of these tunes, you are not from this planet. The original tunes that are covered on this CD are all rock classics. I suggest you review some country, or classical CD's, as you obviously don't know classic rock 'n' roll.

2 out of 5 stars Nothing Furious about this.......2004-08-23

For all long-time Lynch fans who are expecting some great guitar shredding... you won't find it here. Save your money or buy something else. It is a lame collection of cover tunes that George didn't even play rhythm on. He just came in and laid down some solos, and even those solos are boring, uninspired, and lacking the fire that used to make him such an exciting guitarist. Let me say this again: Don't waste your money on this!

4 out of 5 stars George Lynch Does More Than Just Shred..........2004-08-17

This is no simple speed-fest. Lynch's guitar attacks each tune tastefully with some killer tube-tone too boot. Yes, these are cover songs, but not the straight ahead note for note copies which plague most cover albums. Lynch and vocalist Kelly Keeling put their own unique stamp everyone of these songs; making this album an extremely enjoyable listen, especially at higher volumes. I've played this cd about 5 times already and haven't hit the skip track button once. "Furious George" is a must for any Dokken or George Lynch fan, as well as anyone who loves straight ahead, in your face, 70's style rock guitar. Heck I would add 1/2 a star for a 4 1/2 star rating if I could. "Furious George" and Keven DuBrows new album of covers, "In For The Kill" are two of the best cds I've purchased all summer. Add to cart and the turn it up, you won't regret it!

2 out of 5 stars Not so SOOPA after all..........2007-03-22

Yet another dissapointment in a soopa hyped release from PSY records. J really dropped the ball on this one...and I say J because he practically runs the place and is making most of the creative decisions now a days rather then everyone doing their own thing.
This album is NOT wikked, it's basically techno rap...which is not as good as it may sound. I'll keep this one short because really, there isn't much to be said. The beats are lame, the style is insulting and annoying, and the overall theme was not needed. Frankly I would have been happy with an entire album like CONQOUR from PFOS2 sadly that's not what we were given.

5 out of 5 stars Soopa album.......2006-03-06

The all star line-up of ICP, Esham, and Lavel alone makes it worth a try. Totally different kind of music than what you're used to from any of the 3 bands. Shaggy's cutting and scraching skills are incredible throughout the whole cd,(vocally he dosen't say much.) Now it starts off kind of slow and boring for the first 3 tracks but kicks right off with "Mr. Club" going right to "The Van"(yeah). So just give it a chance. Other highlights are "Danger", "P*ssy", "I Shot The DJ", and "Hostile".
