Cool covers by some major names--Cracker ("Shake Some Action"), Counting Crows ("The Ghost in You"), The Muffs ("Kids in America") and World Party ("All the Young Dudes")--capture the film's wild-in-the-malls. Beastie Boys, Coolio, Supergrass, and Jill Sobule also check in with strong material. --Jeff Bateman

2 out of 5 stars Tenderness.......2006-08-13

I completely agree with the other reviewer. The whole reason I came here was to find the final track that plays in the movie ("Tendernes") and was surprised not to find it in the compliation!

1 out of 5 stars about 2 good songs.......2006-06-25

I listened to this cd and was sorely dissappointed. I loved the movie and the music in the movie. usually the songs that you listen to are in sequence with the movie and this was not. Not only that but the good songs that were in the movie were left out for some reason. I am not someone that is picky about her music either. I love music. I hate this cd.

2 out of 5 stars Where's "Tenderness"???.......2005-10-18

Some good songs, some okay songs, some "ehhh" songs as well... but it's not really the Clueless soundtrack without General Public's "Tenderness". Big omission.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty decent soundtrack, captures the film.......2005-08-31

The soundtrack for the movie "Clueless" captures the film. When you hear the song "Rolling With My Homies," you remember the house party. It's a fairly decent soundtrack. I like the song "Supermodel" and everytime I hear it I think about Tai's makeover. It's seriously lacking some major bookends. When CHer first takes off in her vehicle at the beginning of the film she is listening to "Just A Girl," by No Doubt before they got huge. Another song missing is "Tenderness" by General Public when was played at the end of the wedding and during the pink screen credits. Who knows why those songs were omitted but they aren't here. What you are left with is a pretty decent soundrack but not something that really stands the test of time like say the "Valley Girl" soundtrack ya know? A few good songs and some forgettable songs, and groups. Whatever happened to The Muffs?

3 out of 5 stars Would I ever sell this? As if........2005-04-19

Not my favorite movie ever, but it was good, and the music was even better. This is your typical mid-90's mostly alternative soundtrack. Some good covers too. "Ghost In You" and "All The Young Dudes" are great. Also good alt-rock from Radiohead, Lightning Seeds, and Supergrass. The Beastie Boys track is their older punkish stuff, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones song is actually what made me get this disc. It's so catchy. The rest is decent. At this point, look for it used.
