Who Let the Dogs Out
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Ever heard of a Trinidadian dish called pelau? Well, mix any type of food you can get your hands on: chicken, rice, onions, tomatoes... Stir all of these disparate parts up in a pot and enjoy. The Baha Men are Bahamians, not Trinidadians, but they utilize this formula to create their unique brand of music. With its catchy "Woof! woof! woof!" chorus, the self-titled single will make you feel "Hot, Hot, Hot" like Arrow. Soca connoisseurs might find it a bit disturbing that the Baha Men chose to cover this dated carnival anthem of 1998 (originally recorded by Trinidadian Anslem Douglas), but bounce-music audiences won't mind. Although none of the other tracks quite match that song's intensity, there are a good handful ("You All Dat," "Shake It Mamma," "You're Mine") that successfully mesh the popular music styles of the day (R&B, rap, pop) with the percussive junkanoo rhythms of the Bahamas. The electronic beats on "Summer of Love" and "You Can Get It" don't match their organic island flows, and the lone ballad "Where Did I Go Wrong" doesn't fit in with the general feel-good mood of the album, but this CD is filled with decent up-tempo party music for hot festival nights. --Dalton Higgins

Break into the 21st century.......2006-08-23
This album came out in 2000 and we danced to "Who Let the Dogs Out" four times at a Halloween Dance. "You All Dat" is another great song which incorporates the harmony of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" along with a new 21st century rapping song. It is a very unique album with the first song being a great dance song.
A public service for y'all.......2005-06-06
Okay, I had a review here, but judging by the responses I got, it may have been inadequate.
Let's try this again...
You All Dat - A funny story-type song (music taken from The Lion Sleeps Tonight). Nicely sentimental and not *too* corny.
Get Ya Party On - *Great* song! A perfect example of what they do the best, lively Miami Bass. (That's what it's called. Miami Bass.) By far my favorite.
Getting Hotter - A very happy, lively, quick-paced ska-esque number. Think "Hot Hot Hot", only far less annoying. :-)
Summer of Love - Just a really pretty Carribean-style love song.
You Can Get It - Ooh, Motown! At least that's what it reminded me of. Highly enjoyable song with a positive message.
It's All in the Mind - More Miami Bass, but with a much more conventional hip-hop sound than Get Ya Party On
Where Did I Go Wrong - The obligatory post-breakup song (a la Back For Good) that actually manages to avoid getting too sappy. Good stuff.
You're Mine - Disco-esque ska. Probably the weakest track (definitely on the repetitive side), although still passable.
What's Up, Come On - Another party track, nice and happy.
Shake It Mamma - And to close it off, an energetic dance number about a sexy lady. What's not to love.
So there you have it. As someone born and raised in Hawaii, I developed a taste for this type of music from an early age, but anyone who's into party music of any kind will love it.
Well, that's all I have to say. Hope it helped.
(Oh yeah, there's also some stadium song of some sort. Eh, whatever. :-D)
the Year 2000, Mets Vs Yankees World SUbway Series...........2005-01-08
WHO LET THE DOGS OUT!?!?!!!! WOOF!!! WOOF!!! WOOF!!! WOOF!!! This song is great because it reminds me of when i was watching basball and the mets were playing the yankees and it was cool. mike admit it you used to like this song alot and said its really good and cool and you were singing to it and your brother said it was cool it reminds me of when mike was cool and he wasnt a moron and he listened to me. it reminds me of when rossler listened to good music like limp bizkit and kid rock and music like dmx jadakiss and he was a big fan of grant hill who now plays for the orlando magicand is back to being the grant hill he was in the 90s. rossler and joey and mike all used to say i was cool and used to hang out with me and call me the leader and rossler said to me that ace was cool but now its like this, ace your retarded i hate you your annoying what ever happen to mike saying ace is cool and joey said ace your my best friend your really cool. but now joey is like "your gay and im a pimp" and im thinking wtf happend to this world????? Mike Joey Rossler, if your reading this, think about what you have done this past 4 years... think about what you have done to me and what you have said. just remember i was once the king of Woodhaven, just like TI is the king of the south and Lil Jon is the King Of Crunk. Ludacris used to be the king of the SOuth and ATL but TI overthrown him. i feel the same way because of what you fa*gots have done to me....
Who cares if this is brilliant...........2004-12-21
You listen to this kind of music to relax, have fun and lighten up a sad mood. Anyway to get to the review, this is just a fun song that everyone (myself included at one point) takes waaaay too seriously. Personally I prefer "Move It Like This" or "Best Years Of Our Lives" to this one, but this one's fun if you are sad or bored anyway. Junkanoo music is supposed to be fun not serious and that's what you're getting here. If you're looking for serious music, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.
This Ain't American Style (That's Why It Rocks)!.......2002-03-06
Geez, People, when will you realize that you should not think of them as one hit wonders? On this album, the title track isn't even the best song. That honor goes to song three, a track alot of you may remember from the talent show scene from "Miss Congeniality". The song works perfectly for that part, and the track itself should be considered one of the best bahaman party songs of madern music. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese! Realize that they are not trying to go by American pop/rock/rap style music, they have a style all their own from their home country.
They have already exhibited pure musical talent in the song from "Shrek", "Best Days Of Our Lives" which recieved absolutely NO radio airplay. That is absolutely crazy!
This album is a favorite to almost everyone at my school (except the teachers), and brought me to meet many friends. This is a great CD that should be bought by everyone.

One of the worst songs in the history of music.......2007-05-24
Every time this song would come on, i'd have to cover my ears and think of a better song. Other one hit wonders like Alannah Myles made great songs. these so-called musicians,(the baha men) have been forgotten. And who let the dogs out has faded to a dim memory
Who let the BAHA MEN out?.......2006-05-26
There's a reason why I don't listen to the radio anymore, well, the pop stations anyway. With singles like "Who Let The Dogs Out?!" getting airtime, why should anyone besides the MTV drones bother? This album contains the second most annoying single of all time (the first one being "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent): "Who Let The Dogs Out?". The song consists of annoying barking noises and repetitive lyrics. Thankfully, no one has heard from this group SINCE 2002! The Baha Men will probably go down in history as that one hit wonder, that "flavor of the week" that, thankfully, everyone forgot about. That's a good thing.
Grammy winners churn out another classic!.......2006-02-03
I must admit at first I wasn't a believer, but upon purchasing this album I must say I have never been this impressed. Grammy winners The Baha Men are one of the greatest bands of the last century, particularly thanks to their touching power-ballad "Who Let the Dogs Out?" Not only does it have infectuous dance beats and moving melodies, but it also asks a serious life's question: who DID let the dogs out? When I was nine I got chased by a huge dog that was almost as tall as me and since that day I have been wondering this question. I have not actually listened to any of the other songs on this album but since they won a Grammy I take it they are all good too.
Anyways, I'm going to go and roll around in the mud with an inflatable pig. Buy this album. I guarantee you will be satisfied. Hoo.
Who Let these jokes out?!.......2005-12-23
If you like these hacks, then take this CD and shove it up your...
I'm not finishing this due to the fact that there are kids reading this.
Enough said.
Sucks.......2004-10-11
This CD sucks sucks sucks!! The only reason i'm giving itt 1 star is because it's the lowest rating amazon has! For REAL & GOOD music listen to:
Lacuna Coil, Hatebreed, Unearth, Death, Megadeth, In Flames, Napalm Death, Slayer, Disgorge, Anthrax, etc.

Who Let The Dogs Out.......2001-01-01
Who Let The Dogs Out by Baha Men is a song that a lot of children and adults like because it is catchy and the kind of beat and rhythym kids like us like. It is also a song about things that people like. Dogs are a very popular subject and pet and most parents probably ask," Who let the dogs/dogs out?" I think this is a very good song. I like it because it talks about my favorite subject: dogs. It also catches my attention.

I love the title track. We dance to it CONSTANTLY! (It's the best version of this song!)
Who would record let alone purchase?.......2000-08-11
This song is the epitome of how low popular music has landslid, also mirrored by several rap-rock groups. Music at it's unforgivable worst.

i heard the album and it is one i would buy. but the style has been done several times over. time for a new scene to pop up .

Spend the Money on the Baha Man sound track.......2001-03-09
Purchased single for my daughter (5 years old). Not into this type of music and didn't want to get the full lenght Baha Men cd because I didn't want to have to listen to the other tracks on that album. The single was not by Baha Men and sounds nothing like their release...in fact it was a disapointment. Spend the extra few bucks and get the Baha Men CD. I ended up buying it anyway. I will have to throw the single in with my truck when I sell it or use it for a paper wieght !
