4 out of 5 stars NYce one..........2007-01-10

i think to truly appreciate this album you'd have to follow "nocturnal" and "magnum force"... now i know what some of you are thinking, "why do hella people keep refering to the "ruck and rock albums"? ... because they're tight work together... don't get me wrong, these two mc's are right on point by themselves but they do major damage together... anyways, sean p comes out with his vibe that he is known for... but i'll be a bit too real, for me i only like almost every other track but i really listen to like 5 tracks on this album... but i'm biased because i followed them since nocturnal, even though i'm from the west coast i always gave some love to some east coast rhymes... in the end, i think he coulda came out a bit more better, but that's why the 4 stars...

3 out of 5 stars Consistent solo debut from Bootcamp alum.......2007-01-04

I'll be honest. I just like the way Ruck says 'Sean Peeee.'

But more than that, I've been a big BCC fan for quite a while. And as someone who generally judges Bootcamp-affiliated albums by how many Beatminerz song they have, this is a pleasant surprise.

There are no Beatminerz songs on here, but the album is solid musically, with a variety of producers from 9th Wonder to Khrysis to P.F. Cuttin', and the vibe is definitely soulful.

Soul samples wail over the one-two punch beats of 'One Two Y'all' and 'Onion Head.' Those are followed by the faux-Pharrell bounce of 'Fake Neptune,' which doesn't appear to be a dis record, so I'm a little confused by the title, but whatever; the beat is hot.

The middle third of the album slows down a little by way of a few lackluster beats, but snaps back into action with a triple string-heavy trio of bangers, 'I Love You (B****),' 'Bye Bye,' which has a nice Buckshot verse and 'Spliff N Wessun," which doesn't have Tek or Steele but does feature a nice verse from Rustee Juxx.

The title track is my joint, though... just some low bass, heavy drums and monkey screeches.

Ruck's flow is at its best when it's paired with Rock as part of Heltah Skeltah, but like I said before, for a Beatminerz-free record, 'Monkey Barz' is pretty impressive.

5 out of 5 stars It grows on you slowly.......2006-12-26

This album is very good...and sean price always leaves you wanting to hear more after each track is over...some of the beats are hot..and some beats take a lill time to get used to...but all in all it's a hot album

The stuff he says is ridiculous and unheard of, and he puts it nice with beats...can't wait for the next one

5 out of 5 stars Boot Camp Click Stand Up!!!!!.......2006-08-25

Sean Price a.k.a Ruck of Heltah Skeltah steps out the shadow of his partner Rock with stunning results. The beats go downe smooth and bars are like a punch to the chest. He tackles lots of street subject whith a bad guy like swager. Matters like how he's going to shoot you and punch your bi*ch, stealing chains and countless other topics. It's a good mix with the soulfull beats, belive it or not. I only recomond this CD for BCC fans or if you like hardcore raps with a a easy going back drops.
