disappointed.......2007-01-11
I agree with apollo on this one. I was expecting streetlife's album to bring back the wu-feel to hip-hop. though his flows surpass many mc's, the beats are horrible. As a longtime wu fan, I am still waiting for a wu-solo album to impress me. I havent been impressed since the first round of solo releases. Though other later albums were good, they weren't classics. All in all if you want a good RECENT wu album, go with the dreddy kruger album.
The Curse of the RZA.......2007-01-06
(I gotta admit, I was thirsty to hear this cat since Method's Man Tical album. 7 years later, he dropped a CD and "WHA HAPPENED!!". Lyrically, Streetlife is a beast, but he has better songs up in mix tapes. "Can't Stop, Won't Stop", the first CD has beats that don't fit him. And that's the main problem of this CD is that most of the beats don't really fit his rap style. Method was up in 3 of his songs, Insptectak Deck was on one and Killa Sin was on another. The main problem was "Where's RZA?". Streetlife had a slew of producers through his entire CD, but not one was by RZA. That's a thing that's going on with Wu-Tang. The farther they go from RZA's productions, the more mondane the CD quality becomes.)
A breath of fresh air!.......2006-10-11
This cd has rough beats , and rough rymes. This cat Streetlife has mad street cred. His skills on the mic are rugged. This is real hip hop. Way better than the crap rap you hear on New York radio. Thank you Streetlife
and Method Man for this gully cd. It is well appreciated. Solid purchase!
Ouch.......2006-08-01
Man, Streetlife was the bomb on Method Man's albums. Naturally I assumed that a full CD of Streetlife would be hip-hop bliss.
Its more like hip-hop *iss. I agree with a few of the previous reviews by others here in that the the lyrics are good, but the majority of the music is just flat and boring.
There are three good songs:
Cant Stop, Wont Stop
Descriptions
Shoot on Sight
I expected more and I expected better considering the talent that Streetlife is. Three hits out of 15 tracks is not going to cut it.
Not only do I want my money back, but I want the time back that I spent trying to fell this.
Streetlife - Street Education.......2006-04-22
Why all the hate for the album? A lot of true WU heads didnt really think this album was all good n sh**. Streetlife doesnt really bring the "WU" sound MUCH, but this cat is a good emcee. Im really feeling his whole style, and DEFINATELY his flow, that sh** is clean. This album isnt classic material, but its really good, so 4 stars is what I give it. Let me first explain the production, really good, I think it could of had a tad bit better beats on it, but they are really sick, and fit the style of Streetlife perfectly. "F.A.N.Z" has one of the illest beats ever. The production is by a few different producers. "Inspectah Deck" produces the song "A Star Is Born" etc. Anyways, away from that, the lyrics. Streetlife isnt one of the best lyricists out in the game, but is he better than mainstream cats out? Definately. His rhymes are on topic, and of course on point. He doesnt really take topics, and focus into them REALLY deeply, but he covers them in 2 verses pretty much. Most of the verses on the album, only got 2 verses lol, kinda sucks but still good. One weird thing about the album, is that EACH song starts at LEASt 3 to 6 seconds into the song, but oh well haha.
If you want a good Hip Hop album, check this out! Youll like it! Dont listen to the haters.
