Only Built 4 Cuban Linx [Explicit Lyrics]
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is arguably the best quasi-solo Wu-Tang album (Ghostface Killah literally gets equal billing). Most of contemporary hip-hop's Mafioso-inspired themes and MC street aliases are inspired by the "Wu-Gambinos" motif introduced on this 18-cut LP. As the Wu's preeminent storyteller, Raekwon (a.k.a. "The Chef") paints Technicolor Kool G Rap-style pictures of high-stakes drug trafficking on "Criminology," and then mixes his street sensibility with 5% Nation of Islam reasoning on "Knowledge God." This album is loaded with RZA's finest production moments, as he samples a barrage of kung-fu flick sound bites, plays discordant keyboards on "Incarcerated Scarfaces," and utilizes some eerie female vocals on "Rainy Dayz." Rae's timeless duet with Nas on "Verbal Intercourse" further cements the album's status as one of the best of all time. --Dalton Higgins

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx - Raekwon.......2007-05-13
One of the best old rap CD's I've purchased. Raekwon was a beast on this production; the beats, the story-telling lyrics. Great CD.
5-Star Classic.......2007-05-01
A rare monumental contribution to hip hop - Even now after 10 years! In the day and age of weak or tasteless music, this cd guarantees you will get more bang for you buck.

I am truly a Wu-tang Clan fan and Raekwon the Chef was always a favorite of mine because he was so heartfelt in all his rhymes. I enjoyed listening to him talk about his Wallebee Clarks and Only Build for Cuban Linx seriously made a lyrical statement for him. Although a part II could surface, this is truly a classic and it's set in a good time in rap history-1995. It was something about that year-EVERYTHING was good, but then it changed, however, to sit and listen to it makes me feel good. I went on Ebay and they wanted $26.00 for a used CD, so people want to hear the Raekwon spit.....Peace.
The best........2007-03-12
I love Raekwon. Being from NYC and this being something that I cherish I was excited when I could buy one of my favorite albums. Shipping was OK and all is well.
Absolute stunner - it's like a movie on a disc.......2007-03-02
100% bangin' album. They don't make them like this anymore. See all those positive reviews? There's a reason for them. This is a motion picture on a disc - unbelievable. RZA production is out of this world, and every verse is a verbal assault. If you don't own this yet, you don't know hip hop. Tracks 6 and 7 still send shivers down my spine, even though I've heard them a bazillion times.
