Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This is what the 70s' was about.......2005-11-04

This is a fabulous albumn. Each track sends a tingle down the spine and makes you want to get up and dance. The Trammps are such an underated group, and if disco inferno had not been so successful due to the popularity of Saturday Night Fever this fantastic group may not have had much publicity. Each group member has a unique voice and there are so many classics songs on this albumn, lovers of this type of music would struggle to find anything better. The only fault is that 'just say the word' is not on the CD.

5 out of 5 stars Disco Gold.......2004-05-16

This is the perfect party album, based in the sound of Philadelphia but embellished with a rootsy R&B feel. Best Of is an album of absolute gems from the disco era including the anthemic Disco Inferno and That's Where The Happy People Go.

The longer numbers like Disco Inferno and Disco Party have extended orchestrated rhythm breaks whilst the shorter songs are catchy and snappy dancefloor hits. One characteristic of the Trammps sound was the lovely vocal harmonies as in The Night The Lights Went Out and the moving love song Hooked For Life.

A song like Disco Party reminds me a bit of the music of Chic but the Trammps have a fuller sound infused with party noises and soulful vocal interplay. Soul Searching Time is another classic of the dancefloor with an engaging melody and blissfull vocals.

My other favorites include I Feel Like I've Been Living (On The Dark Side Of The Moon) with its great instrumental flourishes and the slow soul ballad Seasons For Girls. This album offers the best of one of the greatest bands of the disco era; their music has stood the test of time very well.

1 out of 5 stars trammps.......2001-11-15

I have been a trammps fan since their first album and I love all the songs on this cd, but Rhino puts the edited versions on this compilation. If you want the long versions, this is not for you.

3 out of 5 stars This Is Where The Happy Go.......1999-12-21

While this CD includes most, but not all, of the Trammps greatest hits, most of the tracks are the single length (short) version of the song. This CD would be much better with the long version of the song since that is what you heard in the clubs.

5 out of 5 stars THE TRAMMPS ARE FANTASTIC!.......1998-12-17

THE TRAMMPS DISCO THEME AND HOLD BACK THE NIGHT ARE GREAT BUT ZING HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST RECORDINGS OF THE 70'S DECADE.
