The combination of Mary J. Blige with strong material is one of the few guarantees of excitement in today's R&B world. Rather than stuff her lines with showy streams of notes like too many post-Patti LaBelle divas, Blige sings the song. Even when she breaks into melisma, it feels like the direct result of an overflow of emotion and not the bad habit of a vocalist steeped in It's Showtime at the Apollo! Great Mary Album But No "My Life" .......2007-03-16

This Mary J. Blige album was great but wasn't flawless like "My Life", and "The Breakthrough". The album would've been better without " Searching" and " Can't get you off My Mind". The first half of the album was flawless but it ended on a good note with "Not Gon Cry and " Our Love". This album is definitely needed for the Mary fans and R&B fans.

Not one of her best..............2007-03-09

I had lost all of my CD's and am now trying to rebuild my collection. I'm a big Mary fan, but forgot that this particular CD was on the mediocre side.

This could've been Mary J.'s best if she just cut off a few songs. The first ten or so tracks are absolutely flawless. The hits just keep on coming and you are just like... 'man, this one is a classic." Then as the album winds down, there are quite a few trite, extremely repetitive filler songs. This is proven with lyrics like "keep your head to the sky/ I don't need to tell you why." (That's the chorus). The Lox make an unappreciated appearance. Luckily, the album ends with the great "Not Gon' Cry." It's a shame that the executive producers of this album just couldn't have cut off a few tracks. Either way, I still highly recommend this album because it only has three or four filler songs and ten or more amazing ones.

A great album by a great singer.......2007-01-26

Mary J. Blige is a phenomenal singer with a beautiful voice. I loved her ever since her first album. When I heard this cd, I fell in love with every song, especially Share My World. I don't own this cd, but I will. I can't believe it's been almost ten years since this album came out. This is a great album, and I can't wait to get it.

My kids' favorite Jewish music tape -- and mine too!.......1998-06-15

Craig and Co.'s CD, "My Jewish Discovery" delights us every time we listen to it. I have worn out and scratched my original copy and am ordering another. My second grader likes it and my fifth grader loves it. The music is not traditional songs you know, but new songs, each in a different musical style, from zydeco to rock to rap. My only criticism is a track or two of talking by a famous Yiddish actor. It's okay once, but we don't need to listen to it over and over. The Chanukah rap song, "Go Judah" is our absolute favorite.

Jazz -lite recipe for success.......2007-05-01

What starts off as a disc with potential, on "My Angel", quickly turns into melodic mush. Someone refered to Najee as the Luther Vandross of sax, well, you might throw Kenny G in there too. The opening track begins adventurous, with African chants but turns into a love song of sorts with a little funky groove. The song encapsulates the Najee formula, romantic sax vibes for only those in love; otherwise it is just too mushy gushy, especially when the vocals appear. I can't stand the vocals in pop jazz. At his best he is a Grover Washinton Jr.(RIP) clone. Lite jazz is what this is, sometimes good, sometimes boring but never threatening to break from the comfort zone. The best tracks are "Now That I've Found You" that is a sip-your-wine while I gaze-into-your-eyes song,"G Street" where he actually gives up the funk, "Heart Like Mine" where if you closed your eyes you might think it was the late Grover Washington Jr. blowing and the let's-get-it-on instrumental version of "I Didn't Know." He actually lets some jazz out of his horn at the end of the song! I'm not a big fan of this formula of sax-makes-romance love songs but Najee is one of the best at doing it. I just wonder what he would play like if he ever blew some real jazz instead of jazz-lite? Maybe he'll do a album of ballads someday, until then, keep the candles lit.

a great introduction to the master saxter.......2002-03-10

The most sensitive saxter. His feeling grooves remind me of Lee Morgan. "Now That I've Found You," is an exquisite, original, fresh tune--just lovely--and survives multiple listens. Put this cd on while you make breakfast & your day will start right! Also check out his previous cd "Just An Illusion," for a more hip-hop feel.

jazz lite.......2001-04-18

a laid back album to the point of narcolepsy- pedestrian, mediocre, boring, etc.- blow out the candles and the incense.

Najee, you're the man!.......1999-06-14

Not even a rainy night in Seattle can dim my mood once I put this CD on. I can just kick off my shoes, sit back and listen to slow jams like "Now That I've Found You," "I Didn't Know," and "Heart Like Mine." I definitely love "Laid Back," with the hip-hop pattern and sweet flute solo. No one can do it like Najee, who, in my mind, is the Luther Vandross of jazz artists. You go, boy!

Just lovin' the music........1999-03-20

Najee is a brilliant artist,who definitely has a way with the sax.This collection is soul stirring and mellow.I enjoy all the cuts and listen to them repeatedly.I can only imagine what he's like in concert.The instrumentals as well as vocals are excellent,this is a well put together release and Jazz lovers will find this a cd worthy for their collection.Thanks Najee for letting us share your world.

i think that mary j blige has come a long way and she has really improved in her singing and in her style of clothes and hair i really admire how she looks after her old neighborhood and her friends such as lil kim and missy i also remeber when she appeared on the queen latifah show she was an inspiration to all the viewers and i hope to see her again on latifah's show or maybe on b.e.t.'s late night show i forgot the name. but anyway i would love to meet or even chat online with mary just once to let her know just how i can relate to all her songs and what a great person she is to all of her listeners.

From this offering, Mary really shares her world with this one. I haven't always been a Mary fan, but when you hear clear spring songs like "Love Is All We Need" you have no choice. Every track is listenable. But the real standouts are, the beautiful and romantic and real "Seven Days", the heart-related "Missing You", and the very spritual "Everything." Share My World also features the "should've won a Grammy classic" "Not Gon' Cry", and "I Can Love You" which features rap bombshell Lil' Kim. With addition with Share My World, not only does her voice and lyrics show maturity but also her content, that someone can always relate to. Share My World is one of the best albums of the decade along with her two previous offerings, What's the 4-1-1 and the Surperb and flawless My Life. With Mary J. being so versitlile, you can't do no more but wait for the next one, which is sure to concrete its way into R&B/Pop History Mary you know you are bad, "Keep Your Head" to the sky.
