The velvety voiced Mo' shifts away from his usual matters of the heart to matters of the world on this disc of predominantly covers. He has also abandoned his bluesier roots in favor of a slicker, jazz-based pop. The result is a protest album for the double-latte crowd, most of whom can hum along to chestnuts from the Rascals ("People Got to be Free"), John Lennon ("Imagine"), and Bob Dylan ("The Times They Are A-Changin'"). While a jaunty banjo- and fiddle-flecked version of the Nick Lowe-penned "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding" (popularized by Elvis Costello) uses a questionable rearrangement to convey the song's message, Mo' really connects when he raids the soul vaults for tunes by Marvin Gaye, Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes, and Donny Hathaway. It's a pleasant, subtle, and always professionally performed detour that's as comfy as a warm cup of hot chocolate on a chilly day. --Hal Horowitz

5 out of 5 stars A Blues Man with a Conscience .......2006-09-25

I have owned this CD for a while and I keep coming back to play it for comfort. I love his blues style and interpretation of old Vietnam war classics. The timeing and message is clear, but the songs are beautiful. He can do it all! What a musician!

5 out of 5 stars Different - and an impressive effort.......2006-03-16

Having been a fan for years - and seen Keb play live - this is a different bag from the blues-inspired material that put him on the map. Some have knocked this CD as it ain't blues; don't much matter to me - the guy is still a great musician. Nice arrangements of some oldies played with a lot of heart.

5 out of 5 stars As meaningful, uplifting, and enjoyable as ever!.......2005-12-28

I have loved Keb' Mo for about 10 years. I knew that there were mixed reviews for this CD, but I still put it on my Christmas wish list and I'm glad I did. He makes the covers his own. I don't hear the original artists, but the message of the songs which seems to be his intent. I love how he applies his style especially to the Bob Dylan song which I understand more now than before! With every song I thought, "Okay, this is my favorite." Now it's impossible to decide. Some of the songs made me want to dance and think at the same time!

I respect the man and his music because he always seems to be earthy and true to his heart no matter the subject. He expresses his heart for the world using the message of these carefully chosen songs. (Inside the CD sleeve there is a line from each song that seems to be the reason it was chosen.) He has written songs like Victims of Comfort (Keb Mo) and Stand up And Be Strong (The Door) that show his long-standing concern for people to take responsibility to change the world.

As meaningful, uplifting, and enjoyable as ever!

1 out of 5 stars I want my money back.......2005-01-10

I keep buying Keb Mo's new records, everytime thinking "Well.. this time i'm sure there will be more blues and less pop rubbish", But i keep getting fooled all the time. Why in the world is he considerd being a blues artist? I can't find one single blues tune on this album for crying out loud! And to think what other albums i could have bought for the kind of money a brand new CD like this cost. I recently saw Keb Mo' in Martin Scorseses "The Blues" series, where he said that when he was young he would always take his car and see Led Zepelin. What? I would have gone to see BB King, Muddy Waters, The Wolf, John Lee Hooker, or maybe Ray Charles or The Good Doc. (You know who i'm talkin about). I haven't heard Led Zepelin, but i'm pretty sure it isn't blues.
Keb Mo's second album titled "Just like you" (1996) has alote of blues on it. That's a real good album. Of all the Keb Mo albums i've got, that has got most blues. But i mean.. look at these other cats who are listed under blues, they don't mix this kind of pop trash into their albums. they simply play the blues, and nothing else. This was the biggest disepointment so far from Keb Mo, silly pop abum. I'ts obvious that blues isn't what Keb Mo wants to do. I think Keb Mo's albums should be listed under "Pop" in the future. was this rewiev helpfull to you, muppets? I will probrably keep buying Keb Mo albums and keep getting screwed. By the way, i sent this CD back.

5 out of 5 stars Great new interpretations.......2004-12-10

These great songs and the original artists are honored by Keb'Mo's new and wonderful interpretations. Listen to it a couple times and then decide. Keb'Mo' adds grace and beauty to everything he does.

5 out of 5 stars Must have for the Gatton fan........2006-11-10

Great song selection and good recording. You can really feel the atmosphere of the place and the energy of the crowd. Live was the best way to hear him so it's a shame there aren't much more of his club performances released.

5 out of 5 stars The best, simply the best!.......2004-01-25

I was a late listener to Danny's music. I thought I'd heard "the best" and owned a lot of great player's music. Then someone loaned me Hot Rod Guitar, and I've never been the same since. Gatton is the most unorthodox and inventive player I've ever heard. In Concert is SUPURB (inadequate word, actually)! It seems there's never a moment that he doesn't surprise me and his playing makes me laugh consistently (I think, "it's impossible to do that on a guitar!"). Buy this CD, and appreciate greatness! I'll bet Danny and Lenny Breau are having a time!!!

5 out of 5 stars Danny's Last Hurrah.......2003-11-15

Recorded a month before his tragic suicide, this new trio of Danny's plays mostly jazz at this date (with some rockabillty thrown in; Danny was never far away from bluegrass). He opens with a fast blues, as usual, and plays numbers that he has played many times before. One difference is that he is playing on a new guitar: with two necks, one a regular Tele, and the other a six string bass. To judge by the applause, he is playing to a small house at the Birchmere. Not to draw a bigger crowd, to a genius of his caliber, must have been disheartening to say the least. But Danny seemed to prefer his small band of hard core devotees to road travel, so he sort of chose it.
The music is superb. "Secret Love" beyond beautiful. "Blues Newburg" done very slow, is the best interpretation I have heard. The "Surf Medley" is fun (my son tries to play "Apache" like Danny"). "Caraven" is given a rousing treatment. And "Orange Blossom Special Medley", Danny's usual ending number is a wonderful romp through bluegrass, funk, and jazz.
This is one of my favorite Gatton albums. I think it will be yours, too.

5 out of 5 stars I love this cd.......1999-07-01

I was lucky enough to have seen Danny Gatton play live and this cd really reflects what his show was like...great! I also like that it was mixed and produced by his band,it just makes it more real somehow. The liner notes are by the people who knew him and worked with him and they're really interesting. It's so sad that he's gone but this cd is what it was like when he was alive.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars What a gift!.......2006-10-17

This cd has made my drive to work so pleasant! Though there are admittedly, a few songs I usually skip, I feel nearly religious about how wonderful the readings on this cd are, and find myself bringing up out of thin air during random conversations.

For me, the stand out pieces are "Shall I compare thee..." which is sung so beautifully, "Sweet love doth now invite..." (which, I saw that Sting has now recorded on his new album but it is a little dry), Juliette Stevenson's wonderful playfulness with her sonnet, Fiona Shaw's reading, and Ralph Fiennes' piece where his voice is full of sharp intensity.

My seven year old has that one memorized. It is something to hear.

I've also recommended this cd to people for whom Shakespeare is a particularly tough egg to crack. Every day you hear a new angle you hadn't picked up on nor considered before, and in the readers' light it becomes simple to understand.

4 out of 5 stars Beautiful, well-chosen sonnets.......2006-08-24

The musical interludes did not really capture my attention vocally, except for Rufus Wainright's who gave the tune a nice style. The speakers had excellent voices and grasp of the material. I especially like Alan Rickman's, Juliet Stevenson's, Susanah Harker's, and Kenneth Branagh's readings. I recommend this CD especially if you are a Shakespeare fan.

5 out of 5 stars RADA; Royal Academy of Deficient Actors when compared to Joe Fiennes.......2006-07-18

If you enjoy Shakespeare you will appreciate this recording of various sonnets performed by various English actors. Some are presented as musical pieces which seem forced and not enough time is allowed between readings,
HOWEVER, the most interesting aspect of the recording is that Mr. Fiennes, who was rejected by RADA as a student, is the only non-RADA graduate invited to participate in the recording.
Also , he is given the honor of performing the first and last selections. The reason why is obvious. His performance is so far superior to the others you wonder why they didn't just let him record the entire program.

5 out of 5 stars I wish Alan Rickman................2006-04-28

I wish Alan Rickman would engage in more spoken word recordings - his voice is incredible. As another reviewer wrote I, too, bought this CD for Rickman alone, but the cd is great from start to finish. Now, if Alan Rickman would only record something like Edgar Alan Poe's poems! Could you imagine THAT voice doing 'The Raven', or 'The Bells'. Haunting! Absolutely haunting. Please Mr. Rickman (bended kneee) read this and indulge your many fans!

BTW: For those of you who enjoy Alan Rickman, he has recorded 'Return of the Native' by Thomas Hardy -- it is super!

5 out of 5 stars The words, the voices, the music: amazing.......2006-03-17

O.k. I'll be honest: I got this CD because of Alan Rickman. However, in the short time I've had it, I've listened to the entire album, start to finish, probably a dozen times. Rickman is amazing with his recitation of Sonnet 130, which admittedly I've listened to more than any other, but Refus Wainwright also deserves mention for a beautiful musical rendition of Sonnet 29. Although I don't know who Henry Goodman is, his version of Sonnet 46 does such an excellent job of capturing the witty back and forth of the eye and heart at war. I was also pleased to see some names (and hear some voices) that I do recognize: Imogen Stubbs, Kenneth Branagh, John Hurt, Annie Lennox, Juliet Stevenson, and Ralph Fiennes--and that's just naming a few of the greats making an appearance on this CD. Finally, if you don't like any of the actors/musicians I've mentioned, you should buy this album just for the sonnets themselves. It's a must-have for any true Shakespeare fan.

5 out of 5 stars I Got My ShackamaxOn.......2007-04-16

Slo Mo has invented a new music genre. It is a fusion of Rap, Folk, New Wave, Electronica, and Country. I don't know how someone could come up with this. Buy the CD. See them if you can. You will be able to brag that you saw them when. It'll be like saying you saw The Talking Heads before they made it big.

Now with two singers from Stargazer Lily providing the background (and lead) vocals (note: NOT on this CD, but still incredible voices), Mike Brenner on Slide Guitar (and channeling Jimi Hendrix), incredible percussion and bass, and of course, Mic Wrecka rapping, you just can't imagine.

5 out of 5 stars My Buzz Came Back..........2007-01-08

...when i hummed these little tunes. I was fortunate enough to catch these guys at a recent New Years show and let me tell you, they know how to rock a crowd. This cd perfectly captures their unique blend of hip-hop, steel guitar, pop, and soul. I could go into how wonderfully written these gems are, and the tight musicianship... but, at the end of the day, what i love most about this cd, is that it just feels REAL good. There is an undercurrent of positivity in every tune, something lacking in almost all modern rap-incorparated music. Tracks 3,4, and 5 are pure gold, but there really are no duds to be found here. From the upbeat, danceable opening number "Everybody Knows" to the maxed out, slo burner closing "Below the City", this cd and live act are not to be missed out on. "I got mine so get yours!"

5 out of 5 stars Hybrid Philly sound.......2006-08-26

The first time I saw this band, I wondered as a slide guitarist, bass, drums, percussion guy, 2 female singers (and acoustic guitar) and a rapper came out, what I was in for. During the second song, I was making my way right down in front of the stage, and grooving like crazy. A neat mix of styles, textures, grooves that is like nothing else out there.

4 out of 5 stars Great album!.......2006-02-05

Interesting combination of Mike Brenner's virtuoso guitar, Mic Wreca's classic hip-hop, outstanding female background singers, strong basslines, and localized Philly lyrics (Shakamaxon is one of my favorites). Not every song works, but most do, and overall you'll be very happy with this purchase.

4 out of 5 stars Bones Brigade rides again.......2007-04-19

Tommy Guerrero was under my radar until about three years ago and I heard some cuts at a friends house. The ex-pro skater had me hooked from then on. Definitely a Latin chill vibe but with lots of ,well, soul, hey, why not name the album "Soul Food Taqueria," nevermind. Anyway the music is way cool, perfect for summer days sitting under the shade of a tree with a nice cool one. Guerrero remarkably plays a pretty nice guitar(isn't it unfair when people have so much talent?), knows a thing or two about mix'n and writing music and the result shines on this chill out CD. The mood created by this disc is pure chill, cool dowwntempo to bring your pulse in check. Guerrero throws in some dub factor, like on "Tatanka," that features his groovy guitar picks. The vocal tracks are reminiscent of the blues in a style that would make Eric Clapton think he may have a love child out there. The thing that impresses me is the ability to integrate urban elelments with stylish tweeking of the frets that is one part surf dog music, one part cool jazz, one part Spanish guitar chill for one delicious downtempo groove unique unto itself. If you have never heard Tommy Guerrero before check this out after you go surfing or skating and your day will be complete. The disc is pretty nice through and through as each song contributes to the easy going vibe tapestry. Recommended for chill heads everywhere.

5 out of 5 stars Glorious.......2006-04-18

This is our first Tommy Guerrero CD, and the first time I've heard of him. I'm so pleasantly surprised, I can't tell you. Love every song on this CD. Great for setting a positive mood. How to describe this music? Mellow, upbeat, latin/jazzy/funk, definitely the overtones of funk, guitar playing with soul; some of the songs are very sensual; makes you feel like...doing something sensual!

Fave tracks: 3, 10, 13, 15, 17. But, again, we like them all.

4 out of 5 stars Solid down-tempo.......2004-08-22

This cd was a spur of the moment purchase, and it was one of my better buys. The cd is very dj shadow-esque in its ability to create a chilled-vibe in the room (or car-ride for that matter). It features Lyrics Born (from 'Quannum' fame) on one of the tracks (track 11: Gettin' it Together), and the result is fun lovin' criminals meets trip-hop.
It a fun cd that gets you singing, gets you chillin, and gets people asking, 'who is this!!'.

5 out of 5 stars amazing.......2003-05-12

The music truly is amazing and multi-dimensional. I've been listening to this cd for the past three days straight. I wasn't familiar with Guerrero before but now I'm excited about checking out his other albums as well.

3 out of 5 stars It's here!.......2003-04-09

If you've been waitting as long as I have you may be disapointed, it's not as good as his other solo's. This CD is more like his collaberations, tracks 1,6,9 and 14 are small filler tracks that are'nt as good as anything on his first 3 CD's. Track 3 and 10 are off his CD w/ gadget and track 7 sounds like something that didnt make it onto that CD. The other 10 tracks are missing something. By far, the best is Gettin it together w/ lyrics born, a great tune that goes down in flames due to a substandard bridge. All is not lost howerver, if you like his collaborations better than his solo stuff you will feel different and this is probably a great CD for you and could even get you more into the solo stuff.

5 out of 5 stars Industrial rap at it's best!.......2005-07-19

I'm not some young be-bopper. Nor, am I a huge ICP fan. This promo was sent to me by a friend in the industry who knew I was a old Ministry fan from way back. Truth be told, it sat on my shelves for way to long before I listened to it.
The fact is this album was way before it's time. Had it come out in 2001 they would have been headlining the Family Values or Warp tours for the last few years and not been swept under the rug. Much like Infectious Grooves, it will go down in history as one of the true talents that very few of us were lucky to hear of.
There are not a lot of albums you can listen to front to back, but there is not a bad song on "Lung Fu Mo She." It's a shame we will never hear more from this landmark group.
Buy it without regret.

3 out of 5 stars Good but not great.......2003-07-29

This album is neither good nor bad. the first six songs are pretty good but after that the album slowly falls apart. "In the mud" and "Third Eye" are by far the best songs on the album. "Slide" and "Steal my Shine" shed some light on this Cd, but the rest of it [is just bad]. I first bought this album after the Bizzar/Bizaar tour in 2001. Marz sounds much better live. The lyrics are good for the most part, but what makes this CD fall short is the beats. With the exception of the songs mentioned above, this cd has some horrible beats. Bottom line:If your looking for a good rap/metal band try out Bionic Jive or Hed P.E.. These groups are far much better than Marz.

5 out of 5 stars MarzRocks.......2003-05-25

This is the best rock CD i have bought in years. There is not a bad song on it, catchy beats, and hilarious lyrics. One of a kind fusion of metal and hip-hop. Definately a classic waiting to happen. I would reccomend it to anyone who likes heavier music. Me and my gorillaz say it is a must have!

Maryland's Danny Gatton was best known as a rockabilly cat, the man who put blistering guitar licks behind the likes of Robert Gordon, Billy Hancock and Delbert McClinton. Like his heroes Les Paul, Lenny Breau and Hank Garland, however, Gatton is both a country picker and a solid jazz man; he stole the show on a Blue Note jam session with Joshua Redman and Roy Hargrove on New York Stories in '92. Gatton kept both careers going at once; Cruisin' Deuces (1993) was a rockabilly outing, while his duet album with Philadelphia organist Joey DeFrancesco, "Relentless," is a straightahead jazz project. One pursuit reinforces the other; Gatton's jazz playing brings a harmonic sophistication to his rockabilly work, and his country experience gives his jazz solos a dramatic flair. --Geoffrey Himes

4 out of 5 stars Psychobilly Rocker Meets Jazz Organ Monster.......2007-02-23

It's on the second cut, "Broadway," that Danny Gatton realizes what he's gotten into on this date. When you're Danny Gatton, you're used to blowing everybody else away. But Joey DeFrancesco wasn't being blown away by anybody, at least not that day. He takes a supercharged solo, and when Gatton gets it back, you can hear him quoting "I'm Beginning To See The Light." Oh, yeah. No cruising on this date. And, happily enough, the two of them proceed to blast through a program of jazzy blues.

It is clear from listening to this that while Gatton had amazing chops, he really wasn't a jazz player. That didn't stop him from having a whale of a time with Joey D, however. You could make an argument that this is one of the best examples of Gatton's playing, if only because DeFrancesco was such a worthy running-mate. Listen to them laughing on "Blues On The Half Shell"--they're having a great time. And if the idea of rockabilly rubbing up against jazz sounds appealing, you'll have a great time, too.

4 out of 5 stars Realizations.......2006-11-02

Steve Grey hit the nail on the head. Gatton was putting forth a great effort... but his unschooled approach to music is rather glaring in contrast to DeFrancesco's musical prowess. But, It sounds like they were having a great time.

DeFrancesco is so articulate... heads and shoulders above the crowd. Gatton was an icon, to a degree, but when set side by side with a great all around groove doctor... the Gatton image doesn't shine as brightly, but exudes raw energy at a very high level. I personnally think it is raw energy... but a bit unpolished.

Now... I've seen Gatton many times. I'm from DC and a musician to boot. And I love Danny's style and miss him... and understand that when he came back from California after a brief period of session work... he too, recognized his technical limits.... that said; Gatton displays a straight up, off the cuff feel for the groove... Gatton was good, very good, but there were A LOT of musicians who also were and are more polished. This release demonstrates that Danny Gatton had limits. A quick listen to a lot of Gatton material will also reveal a repetitivness that cursory examinations might miss. I'm not faulting him... but laid open with DeFrancesco... those types of limitations are evident.

For a Joey DeFrancesco release... it's great. Joey is the B3 King and proves it! With Danny it still rocks and grooves and works. I still own it and enjoy the release very much.

5 out of 5 stars Just pure energy, style and licks to spare!.......2006-07-05

This is the second version of this CD I have owned I like it that much that I gave one away reluctantly to a pal in England. From the moment this album starts you know you are in for a ride, and what a ride it is. From the beauty of 'The Chess Players' to the sheer intensity of 'Gearheads' , this album just overwhelms the listener with an ever-changing palette of different sounds. Is it country? Is it Jazz, Is it Rockabilly?. This is the kind of music you can't put into a category....simple as that.
One reviewer likes Hank Garland...sure, but that is comparing apples to oranges..for a start, there is NO-ONE like Joey DeFrancesco around...and the sound that these two guys produce is totally unique....it's a pity Danny is no longer with us, another one of these collaborations would have surely been a milestone, if this isn't already.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable.......2006-01-12

This is a fantastic set of music. You have to listen to it to believe it.

5 out of 5 stars Holy Chops Batman!!!.......2005-01-20

I was a sound tech for a number of years. I used to have this CD in my intermission rotation. No matter what genre of music the audience came to see, they were all blown away by the smokin' chops displayed by both musicians on this disc.

Skateboarding and hip-hop culture have always made good bedfellows--you only need ask Tommy Guerrero. This icon of the sport is just about as famous as a skateboarder can get, yet at the age of thirty-three he decided to hang up his wheels and concentrate on more leisurely pursuits. A Little Bit of Somethin' is the inspired result--an album for which campfires and kicking back must surely have been invented. It's a little bit country, a little bit rock & roll, a Beck-lite collision of postrock blues, breezy summer jazz and whatever else gets pulled out of the rucksack. "Pescadito" is Nirvana's "Come as You Are" stripped down to its drum machine bones; "Soul Miner" oozes hot buttered '70s soul; "4 Track Samba" does exactly what it says on the tin, while "100 Years" is the sound of Ukrainian peasants nodding their heads to a twilight hip-hop mantra. This is music to toast marshmallows to. --Paul Tierney

I purchased the album based solely on my inability to get the song Tiny out of my head. I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the tracks.

5 out of 5 stars An Ambient Soundtrack to Life's Leisures.......2006-04-19

When I picked up this album a couple of months ago, I confess: it was strictly an impulse buy. Admittedly, only the album cover attracted my attention, and I didn't have a clue what Tommy G. was all about. When I threw it on my cd player, however, boy was I engulfed into a trance-like state of mind that I rarely achieve except while listening to artists like Portishead or Cibo Matto. Upon first listen, the tracks tend to meld into each other, leaving titles almost obsolete. But don't get me wrong, each stands out in its own beautiful way. From somber atmospheric iterations like on "its raining again" to downright funk with an operatic twist on "soul miner", this offering will probably disappoint many who like grandiose production, while those who can appreciate minimalimist tactics will enjoy this CD while studying, doing the dishes, or whatever menial activities we seek to enhance. Not bad for a CD that clocks in at just under 50 minutes.

    5 out of 5 stars Ahhh!.......2005-10-01

This is one of those albums you listen to over and over. It has a permanent slot on my iPod and is constantly on my playlists. Tommy Geurrero has incredible style to match his chops. This is laid-back at its best. Intellectually engaging and head-boppingly good. Skater turned music phenomenon! Great stuff!

    5 out of 5 stars A truly remarkable Lo-Fi Gem............2005-01-26

He may have first come to light as a cult figure in the 80's skateboarding scene, but when he gave up skating to concentrate on music, this was to be a decision that would enable him to produce some wonderfully beautiful Latin (Puerto Rican) referencing music, that uses the elements of his skate-punk pass, to produce an album of delicate Indie Rock, a dash of Post-rock & ever so slight trances of Experimental rock, to deliver a subtle album of magpie influences that features languid grooves, Latin music, Acoustic guitar, electronica-styled beats, "Tortoise" style Post-rock experimentation, with the odd usage of jazz, and even samba are all thrown into a theoretical musical cooking pot, and emerged as an album bristling with downtempo grooves.

Its an album that blends influences from all kinds of unexpected, offbeat places and tires that reinterpret them with a decidedly stripped-down feel. There are no heavy guitar or Big beat diversions here, its resolutely a low-key, Lo-fi feel, that feels remarkably personal, as opposed to being something heavily produced that lacks that intimate connection, and the fact that the majority of the musicians playing the instruments here, are Friends of Tommy Guerrero emphasises that DIY feel.

Tracks like "Azucar" and "So Blue It's Black", hint at some of Tommy's musical influences, and in this case, be it, the passionate Latin rock of "Santana", or the soulful, and reflective grooves of "Bill Withers", will immediately spring to mind, yet both tracks manage to contain enough ideas & impressive performances to stand on their own two feet.

"Blue Masses" is a bluesy number with a decidedly stoner feel to it, with a unrushed percussion and like all the tracks on this albums, that although lack structure, are a collection of beautifully played Lo-Fi tracks. "Tiny" is a piercing horn rhythm, with the simplest of beat laid underneath it, Its
also part of the experimental side of this album, in that nothing like this could feasibly exist outside the confines of this album, such is its quirkiness, and remains very much a 'love it or hate it' track, possibly because it's such a unconventional track. which contrasts oppositely with the light and bouncy "Flux and Meter," and from the hazy, rolling, city-drive soundtrack "Azucar" to the delicate chill-out exercise "Pescadito". Tommy Guerrero's musical heroes which stretch to artists such as: "John Coltrane, The Latin Playboys, Tortoise" really show through in this album, as the blues, border music, experimental studio trickery, and cinematic sound textures & sombre jazz-beat fusion runs consistently throughout the album.

A Little bit of Something isn't for everyone. The Lo-Fi, and rough approach to song structure will repel those used the high production values, and a high level of studio polish. As will the genres jumps, which move from Jazz-fusion coupled with slow hip-hip Beats, one minute. Before jumping into experimental Lo-fi post-rock the next. This is a album for those that are generally eclectic in their music tastes......and can listen to "The Sea and Cake" or "Tortoise" one minute, and then listen to the post-rock of "Slint", "Godspeed you Black Emperor", "Mogwai", "Sigur Ros"....and then stick on "Mile Davis", "Coltrane", "Wayne Shorter", the next minute, without blinking an eyelid. If you think that mostly applies to you, then this is really worthy of some serious consideration.

    5 out of 5 stars Smooth beat.......2004-03-12

Tommy Guerrero brings you smooth beats that you can listen to while doing literally anything and it will enhance the experience. Each track flows cleanly into one another and that allows you to be captivated by every sound. Each track is distinct and carries a certain layed back quality you only get from Guerrero. i recommend this album with a fat sack, layed back on sunny evening.
