Customer Reviews:
Essential for the heartbroken slow jam lover.......2006-12-03
Slow Jams: The Timeless Collection, Vol. 2 features some of the saddest slow jams ever recorded. In a set that includes includes the Unifics' "The Beginning of My End," with its funeral setting; "Cry Together," the O'Jays' dramatization about a couple with serious issues; Tina Marie's teary "Dear Lover"; Patti Labelle's pleading "If Only You Knew"; Enchantments' sad realization "Where Do We Go From Here"; and the Isley Brothers' shameless, begging "Let Me Down Easy." Furthermore, Shirley Brown and Barbara Mason want to whip their men's outside women for messin' up their homes. Don't get disgread though slow jams fans there's also the classic baby maker Love's Train by Con Funk Shun and the senmitmental Very Special.
old school player.......2000-07-13
as a product of the late 70s and 80s i can surely appreciate the colaboration of the hot songs that were put together in this cd but most of all loves train is a classic that could be remade today and be a hit all over again
Provissimo..........2000-06-26
....I'm not a fan of so-called Ol' Skool collections. I used to be, when they first started out. I loved finding the songs I dug and grooved to when I was younger on CDs--but now that I'm older, I can see thru most of the smoke and mirrors. This Slow Jams Timeless Collection is good, in my opinion, because it has really rare finds on it. (Not just the Isley's "Between the Sheets" which is another jam I think has become ubiquitous because of these ol' skool collections, ol' skool radio stations, and drive time contemporary R and Bee radio stations who feel they are really doing us the audience a favor by playing a classic tune...enuff is enuff, people.) Debra Laws' "Very Special", the Unifics' "Beginning of My End", my favorite soul falsetto group the Enchantments' "Where Do We Go From Here", and Barbra Lewis' "From His Woman to You" the R and Bee answer to Shirley Brown's "Woman to Woman" are on this great collection. Overall, I feel the any of the Timeless Collection represented by this Volume, is a good buy.

Best of the Slow Jam 70's series, a must for your collection.......1999-05-03
This is the best of the Slow Jam 70's series. A must for your collection if you like the music that bridges early 70's rock and AM radio fluff. This is soul!
