About the Artist
Noel The R&B Gospel singer holds no bar when it come to down to utilizing his vocal talent to bring to the world. Noel lived in a small town where there was little activites. But at a young age he decovered that God give him a voice to sing and also legs to dance. So he enter into school talent show and came in first place. Noel become very popular in that town. By this happening Noel decided to move to California to pursue his career. He use his vocal talent for various artist such as: MC Hammer, Garth brooks, danny boy, and other. He also performed with Denise Williams, Gospel Gangster, Spiritual Pieces and other. Noel also been in a few movie such as: Sunset Rise and Escape From L.A and also was on the Donnie and Maria show. But doing all of this Noel feels that its worthless if he cant share this music with other.

Robert Shaw is still considered on of the finest choral conductors this country has ever produced. When he took over the podium of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra some felt his talents were being wasted on orchestral influence: a few seasons into the role as an orchestral conductor erased the doubts of his ability in that realm. One of the aspects of his tenure programming was always to include the major works for orchestra and chorus and fortunately most of those works were recorded before his death.

In this superb CD Robert Shaw returns to his roots as choral conductor, presenting a group of a cappella works that demonstrates just how wide-ranging was his repertoire and a renewed appreciation for this gifts in drawing the very finest of choral singing from his musicians. Included here are near perfect performances of a wide variety of works: de Victoria's 'O vos omnes, qui transitis per viam', Thomas Tallis' 'A new commandment', Poulenc's 'Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence' and 'Quatre motets pour le temps de Noël', Debussy's 'Chansons de Charles d'Orléans', Brahms' 'Waldesnacht' and 'Abendständchen', Aleksandr Kopylov's 'Heavenly Light', excerpts form the Rachmaninov 'Vespers', Verdi's 'Sacred Pieces', Britten's 'Hymn to St. Cecilia', Arvo Part's 'Magnificat', Frank Martin's 'Mass', and three spirituals.

Some may argue this is too wide a selection for a CD, that while this made make for a brilliant evening's performance in the concert hall, it is too much variation to digest on a CD format. But those who feel that way can parcel out the treasures here recorded according to their needs. For a sampling of the genius of Robert Shaw conducting a cappella works, this CD is as fine as they come. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, July 06

    4 out of 5 stars For Crumb enthusiasts.......2006-11-19

    The three works on this disc are somewhat "typical" Crumb. "Songs, Drones, and Refrains of Death" is not Crumb's greatest work, even if it has his signature gestures -- a combination of speaking and singing during songs, shouting from the percussion players, among other techniques. It's a little contrived and more than a little dated (it's unmistakably 1960s avant-garde), but it's not a bad work. The recording's vocal performance by both the ensemble and the soloist sounds very muddled, which is unfortunate.

    The Suite for Christmas has never been my favorite work. Crumb's other works for piano, such as the Makrokosmos books, are so much better it makes this work really look kind of anomalously amateur, even though I'm sure it's extremely hard to play. Orkis makes the most of this work, it's as good as I've ever heard it.

    Apparition is by far the best work on this disc. It focuses on death just like the Songs and Drones, but Apparition also has some of the most delicate music found in any of Crumb's works. And the singing is sharp and clear, even with the transparent textures of the music. It uses Walt Whitman's Death Carol as its text and really captures the mysticism, light, and darkness that surrounds death that Whitman conveys in his poem.

    Overall, it's a good disc. It's definitely a great disc for people who like Crumb, but I know I wouldn't have explored much more of his music if this were my introduction.

    This is a perfect King's Singers recording filled with Christmas music. The sustained success of this group of six English gentlemen is legendary, but not surprising. The ingredients for that success have remained the same for many years, through varying personnel, and across a very wide-ranging repertory of a capella music. First and foremost, these men are true musicians - musicians first, singers and interpreters second. Musicianship consisting of equal parts learning and attentive transmission, the King's Singers are immaculate musicians - attuned, commited, ready, and fortunately blessed with musical intelligence to guide their choices of material. Second, and as important in my view, these men are comrades. In their recently released DVD, one finds abundant evidence of a committment not only to their art, but to each other. A capella singing by nature revealing, you'll find no seams in the singing of this mastergroup. Everything is seen to, raised up, compelling - and ever beautiful. This is authentic art of the gods. As fond as I am of Chanticleer, and of Harry Christopher's The Sixteen, the work of those fine ensembles pales when compared to the lingering beauty of the King's Singers. Constant invention is one of the hallmarks of their recorded legacy, and is bountiful on this disc - voicings, approaches, and a magical communion of voices. Check out Ariel Ramirez' instantly amenable 'La peregrinacion' and you'll never turn back. Big recommendation.

        Noel I heard your CD and its off the hook. There is a song called You Got My Back. I really like that song it makes me dance. And there one that really touch my soul called Come into This House. When I heard that song I start to cry because I do go threw problems and sometime I cant see no way out. But I look up to the heaven and call on his name to help me. People if you read this you got to get this CD it really make you think about life. Noel you have change my life I thank God I order it. And thank God for you.
