Try Again.......2006-02-26

This album is a great 80's flash back album. The only problem is that Morris Day of THE TIME co-wrote one of their best songs "Try Again". He did not release the rights to this song, so the album has a missing part of the passion. Other wise this is a great CD purchase.

This would be a great collection ..........2004-10-08

however it is missing "Try Again", which is the best song that they made. It was also a sizable hit in 1983, so I'm not sure why they left it off. Otherwise there are several great songs here, but sadly without "Try Again" there is a big gap on this collection.

There is one other Hit song missing...........2004-01-18

I like the CD but it lacks one popular hit. "Try Again" If this is the " Very Best Of Champaign", Where is the song "Try Again"? Other wise, the CD is good.

real good Jams.......2003-10-27

Champaign had some good Jams back in the day&brought a cool vibe to there Material&finally there is a Hits Collection to highlight."How Bout Us" is one of those Jams alone that brings back reflections from back in the day&the vocals&the Arrangements are on cool as well."Try Again" was a Jam as well.good material.

This is exciting music -sometimes gorgeous and sometimes urgent. See the film too! Great family entertainment and hero's journey pattern. All actors fantastic.

Forgotten country harmony group.......2004-04-16

Following the success of the Judds and the Forester sisters, several female harmony groups attempted to follow the example including Evangeline and Wild Rose, both of whom faded back into obscurity. Another equally brilliant but equally unsuccessful group was the Girls next door. Most of their songs are up-tempo contemporary country.

The title track is a cover of the old Champaign pop hit. They do this song superbly, but it conjures up a whole new image. Four women sing How about us? Now that's a thought for any man to contemplate. None of the other songs are as famous as that one, though Marsha Thornton (another brilliant singer that faded into obscurity) also recorded Wasn't it you. Best of the many other fine songs may be One of the boys and Few good men.

If you enjoy the music of the Forester sisters, you will probably enjoy this album.

Still one of my favorite albums........2003-02-23

These four girls are like the female version of the Oakridge Boys. This is just one of three albums that features the Girls' unique and angelic fourpart harmony. If you love great female harmony, this is a must have album. I bought this album over a decade ago when it first came out and I still listen to it all the time. That's how good it is.

It is the song you remember. The one with that chorus. A great love song and a true classic. Unfortunately the rest of the album isn't as great, but that particular track is good enough to defend buying it.
Talking about old soul/r'n'b-classics...when will Motown give us the old Smokey Robinson albums (of the late seventies and early eighties) on CD? I am looking for "Essar" from 1983 (wasn't it?), but it doesn't exist...
