Awesome voice and music.......2005-06-09
Back in the early 90's, one of my best friends said to me: You have to listen to this album! It was Chris Bender and the first song she told me to listen to was "Kiss and Make Up". I fell in love with his voice and to this day, I still have the album on my playlist on my home computer and I listen to it very regularly. I was devasted to learn that Chris had been so tragically killed just when he was making his mark on the music world. I for one will not let his memory die. I will continue to listen to his awesome music every chance I get! If you don't already have this album, you would want to add it to your collection.

it really makes me sad that chris was taken from us at such an early age. he never really got a chance to reach his full potential in the music industry. every since i was younger and my brother got me into listening to chris bender i wondered what it would be like if he was still living. this was a really good album, especially hits like "who will i choose," "kiss and make up," and "spell bound." i really wish he could still be here with us today to share more of his wonderful talents. Rest In Peace Chris. You Are Truly Missed.

Chris Bender was one of the "under rated" R&B singers of the early 1990's that never made the mainstream. However, this does not diminsh the mark he made on R&B music at the time. Vocalaists such has Bender, as well as Stokley of Mint Condition, and Brian Mcknight truly created a unique niche in R&B music. In the Midwest [e.g Chicago, Cleveland, Dayton, Oh.] is is not uncommon to still hear 'Who Will I choose' in regular rotations on many stations.
Its a shame that Bender is not still making music today, nevertheless he made a definitive impression.
A Solid Vocalist That Struggled For Mainstream Acceptance.......2003-10-08
Chris Bender's Draped includes more hip-hop/new jack flavored tunes, plus some slightly above average vocals and great high caliber production. Bender doesn't lack in originality, his problem is more so that theres not one STAND-OUT track to break him into the mainstream. The album hit No. 92 on the R&B charts, which is awful, but this shouldn't mean that the album should be overlooked. His two charted singles "I Knew" and "That's Not The Way" broke into the top-70 on the R&B charts, and the heavily respected (today) singles "Kiss and Make Up" and "Who Will I Choose" have the strong lead, which most the album lacks. Bender's death has nothing to do with the material on Draped, he was a good vocalist that struggled to break out of the pack.

Good Compilation.......2006-08-03
The album starts off great with a nice track from Messy Marv. Most of the artists on this album i've never heard of before but they bring that fire anywayz. Even the R&B tracks on here lik numbers 6, 12 and 20 sound real nice especially number 20 by Selau. All in all a great album....."IT'S GOOD". Oh and be sure to check out that track on there by Mistah F.A.B. that one is tight as hell.

Although this unknown Masterpiece can stand side by side with the best works of Tracy Chapman and Rickie Lee Jones, you'd be doing yourself a disservice to either compare "Your Mouth" to other albums or to antiseptically dissect it song by song to be observed under a critical microscope.
The artful combination of melody, lyrics and voice is best transliterated via the right hemisphere of the brain; Monique Lanier's wonderful piece should just be allowed to wash over you.
