as always i enjoyed any live performance from diana ross

Disappointing.......2005-05-16

This is a lackluster live performance from the usually dependable Miss Ross. Her voice is thin and tired on this particular performance, and the songs are so rushed, you wonder why she even bothered at all. The album also suffers because many of the tracks were songs she was releasing at the time, such as Workin' Overtime, Dirty Looks and This House. They sound dated now, and the live performances don't make them any better.

If you want to hear Diana in a better live setting, pick up 'Live At Caesars Palace' or 'An Evening With...'.

Greatest Collection of Diana Ross to date.......2001-12-21

Diana Ross, shines in this live CD. All the old standards including Supreame's songs are played. Miss Ross has a way of making you feel like you are actually in the auidence, partcipating in the concert.Playing this CD iver and over again only enhances the concert experince. This CD is Miss Ross at her very best, and it shows. I highly recomend buying it, you will enjoy it for many hours to come.

This event was recorded at the Wembley Arena, London /England- June 2,3,4 1989.
It was televised across the world. Miss Ross performed some of her Best Songs ranging from "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" to a "Supreme Medley".
The concert kicks off with M. Jackson's "Dirty Diana", then she sings 2 superhits from her CD Diana (1980) "I'm Coming Out" & "Upside Down". During the concert she introduces her 1989 Motown Album "Workin' Overtime". Of course "Endless Love"& "Missing You" are included. The Album's closing song is Diana's personal anthem "Reach Out & Touch".

IT HAS AIN'T NO MOUTAIN HIGH ENOUGH, THEME FROM MAHOGANY, MISSING YOU, ENDLESS LOVE AND MANY OTHERS. THIS EVEN HAS A SUPREMES MEDLEY! IT INCLUDES: WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO, BABY LOVE, STOP!IN THE NAME OF LOVE, YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE, YOU KEEP ME HANGING ON, AND LOVE IS LIKE AN ITCHING. SHE RUSHES THROUGH IT BUT IT IS 6 MINUTES LONG AND IS WORTH LISTENING TO. THE PRICE IS KINDA EXPENSIVE BUT IT IS AN IMPORT AND IS WORTH BUYING!

GOOD BUT HAVE BEEN BETTER.......2000-09-30

Diana Ross' performance at the Wembley Arena stadium in 1989 during the time of her Workin Overtime tour. Whilst the ill fated Workin Overtime only sold moderatley, this album catapulted into the U.K top 40 charts and if anything was a reminder that Diana Ross is still a unique and fascinating performer. She performs some of her major hits such as I'M COMING OUT, AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH, CHAIN REACTION and MISSING YOU which occasionally steers into a cabaret sound whilst she skips through The Supremes medley at an uncomfortably fast pace but on the whole its a fairly good representation of her live concerts during the 1980s as she has certainly done many more superior ones since this which unfortunatley and questionably have never been released on record. Its worth having for the rarity of hearing her perform some of her lessr known material such as the sultry soul track DIRTY LOOKS and the rock sounding MIRROR,MIRROR. Diana Ross to this day still has that essential star quality and charisma which justifiably led to her being voted female entertainer of the twentith century. An enjoyable album on the whole.

This is an interesting collection but not Diana Ross's best. On some of the songs her voice does not seem as strong as it used to be. I think this was a good concert but not good enough to be released and sold. She seems to rush through several of the songs and can't reach the high notes.
