Artist Bio: A Princeton professor, theologian, activist and prolific author, Dr. Cornel West has presented the facts of today's world in terms and forums not only directed toward academia, but also to those of us in everyday life who actually live it. Dope CD/DVD package MUST HAVE for every eazy/nwa fan, str8 goods and historic tracks, never before seen footage on dvd which is a little short(35min) but worth it, buy 2 one in original package N one to bust out and bump, if you dont have it already 1 click check it, do it.

      Like the albums of Garnet Silk, Steel Pulse, and Black Uhuru, this one is absolutely incredible. Many of the songs are instant classics. These include Wine & Roses, Two Sevens Clash, Don't Buss Your Gun, Pass the Kutchie, and Ghetto Man Do That.

      After being let down by Buju in the summer of 2003, and dealing with the sudden infatuation with mainstream Dancehall artists like Sean Paul and Wayne Wonder, it was refreshing to know that Anthony B, who has been consistant with his Rasta roots, had a new album coming out. When I finally listened to it I wasn't dissapointed, I knew I could rely on de bredren. Amidst all the dutty rock and slackness so thick its hard for a real Rasta to breathe... Anthony B brings knowledge to the streets in easily one of the best albums he has done. It begins with God Above Everything, showing the community with Rastafari is all about. The song teaches ones to put JAH before a car, before jewels, before all these material things and desires that peoples get caught up in. Police is a strong tune about the corruption of police, and how they wan fe stop Rasta. Joseph Hill of Culture redoes their classic hit Two Sevens Clash with the help of Anthony B and it turns out great. There are plenty of other good tunes here... redoing Pass The Kutchie featuring The Mighty Diamonds, Change Of Weather, Don't Buss Your Gun, Clean Your Heart and Good Cop which states that yes there are good cop and bad cop as well... clarifying his stance on the issue. The Fire Man also cools off a little... relaxing the vibes in Dancing Mood, and speaks of love on Key To Your Heart featuring Courtney Melody and Wine & Roses. If you are Rasta reggae fan, I highly recommend this album, Anthony B definetly has voice for calling out politricks, speaking of the injustices of government and law enforcement in a mature rootical manner. He and Junior Kelly are bringing a subtle and respectable side to Bobo conscious Dancehall and still bringing that firey energy. Ones should really clean their hearts, purify their minds and overstand the message here. This is one of Anthony B's best efforts with good lyrics and riddims... if you begin here, go back and check out Anthony B's earlier works. Add this to your collection. Seek JAH first iyah!

      Despite the massive amount of accolade VPRecords has been receiving for their dancehall recently for Sean Paul and Wayne Wonder's successes, respectively, they have continued to keep their crown in the roots arena. Albums like last year's mega hit Da Real Thing by Sizzla, and this year's gem Ghetto Life by Jah Cure have helped VP begin to create a significant interest in roots music in the US and Street Knowledge by Anthony B, can do nothing but help the wave.
      Street Knowledge is a seriously good album. Often underrated, Anthony B's penmanship is off the scales on some of the lyrics on this album, and the overall, kind of laid backness of the record helps it significantly, along with some well-placed combos and covers. Anthony B's cover songs prove to be two of the best tunes on this one, Two Sevens Clash which features its originator Culture is a flat out amazing redo for an all time classic as is Pass the Kutchie with the Mighty Diamonds. That being said, my favorite tune on this album is last year's hit Good Cop, from the first second that I first heard it, it just stuck with me, and i still love it. Also love the kind of harder edged Police, and the opener God Above Everything Else. And Ghettoman Do That as well, and surprisingly Dancing Mood. There was a tune on his last album, That's Life called Fire Dance, that i didn't like, Dancing Mood which continues in the much the same fashion, however, has grown on me. Also interestingly on the album is the Wyclef Jean penned Gun Powder, and i have to give Wyclef credit because the lyrics on that one are very very good. The album ends in a tune called Stop Di War in the Music. The tune is pretty much a medley of artist after artist talking about the hatred and warring in reggae music. Recognizable voices are Sizzla, Frisco Kid, Wayne Marshall and Ninjaman.
      Overall, I'd certainly strongly recommend Street Knowledge for sure. Fans of the artist, for you, this one is certainly a must. Its time artists like Anthony B, Sizzla, Buju Banton and Capleton show the US massive what the other half of reggae music is really about.
