    Kashif was a great singer and one of the 1980s most prolific producers- in many ways, he was way ahead of his time. This import CD is a fine collection of his best songs. Sadly, his own solo albums never received the praise and recognition that his productions for the likes of Kenny G., Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, George Benson and others received.

    real music compaired to what we have to listen to today.

    As of this writing I still recommend digging out your turntable and searching for vinyl copies of Kashif's first
    three Arista albums circa 1983-1985 but this works in a pinch.
    It includes several needless cuts from 1987's uninteresting
    'Love Changes' album but the fabulous "The Mood","Botha,Botha",
    "Baby Don't Break Your Baby's Heart" and "Are You The Woman"
    are here.And even though the two 1987 cuts could've been easily
    exchanged for "Stone Love" and "I Just Gotta Have You" (neither
    are here) this collection is functional.

    I already had a best of Kashif (definitive collection) CD, but I bought this one specifically for the instrumental song "The Mood." I had to have it in my collection! I was a high schooler when it originally hit and it was baaaaddd then and still hasn't faded! As another reviewer said: FINALLY!

    I agree with "devoted 1/21/2003". I am buying this CD specifically for the song "The Mood." It has taken me about 17 years to find this song on CD. I highly recommend it...it is that song that you know you used to love but don't know the name of it. I have the original album that this cut comes from and play it frequently (yes I still have a turntable).

    THIS IS A GOOD CD AND VERY HARD TO FIND. ONE OF MY FAVORITE TRACKS IS "THE MOOD"; IT'S INSTRUMENTAL BUT VERY SMOOTH AND SOPHISTICATED. GREAT TO CHILL WITH A DESERVED LOVED ONE AND A GOOD BOTTLE OF COGNAC!
