Excellent!!!.......2007-08-02
Excellent transaction. Would not hesitate to buy again from this seller. Product was delivered promptly and as described.
good memories for me and fun "new" songs for my children.......2007-06-27
We had ordered this for "The Dukes of Hazzard" theme song for our 4yr old and our whole family has fallen in love with the cd. It makes me want to share some of the old fun and simple shows with my children. I forgot about some of those shows. It brings back good memories for my husband and me and the songs are new and exciting for our children. It's a nice change from children's cd's, but our children still think it's fun. The sound quality is good and the songs included on the cd are a great mix. I would definately recommend this one.
memories.......2007-02-22

TV Theme Songs.......2007-01-13
This is a great CD for people who watch a lot of TV -especially TV LAND and reruns of old shows when shows had actual theme songs. I took the CD to work and everyone loved trying to figure out what show the songs were from.
TV themes.......2006-07-05
Not all what I expected, not all of the tunes are the original recordings you remember as the TV themes.

Customer Reviews:
The greatest songs ever?.......2007-07-26
I heard 'clear or cloudy', from this recording, on the radio recently and had to purchase it. It is strange but it is the sort of song that makes life prior to listening to it different from life after. I find it sad that so many people haven't heard it. There are also many other wonderful works in this collection. Given you get twelve well recorded CDs with top quality performances, this has to be one of the bargains of the age.
Please buy it.
A musical treasure-box.......2006-09-10
Both the music and this actual product are masterpieces. John Dowland's collected works here - covering 12 compact discs - exhibit the depth and power of this composer, a composer who many now regard as suffering from clinical depression. I doubt that the issue of the diagnosis of Dowland's depression can ever be settled, however, it is certainly obvious from his music, so completely on display here, that he was a man with very dark depths and corners in his mind. Dowland's various manifestations and "takes" on his own tune, "Flow my tears"/"Lachrimae" are here. This tune has haunted me ever since I first heard it when I was a child. It seems to sum up Dowland's feelings - at least Dowland seems to have thought so.
The First, Second, Third and Fourth Bookes of Songes, A Musicall Banquet, the keyboard transcriptions, all the lute music, consort music are here and virtually everything else written or supposedly written by John Dowland. Anthony Rooley and The Consort of Musicke perform this music with style and feeling throughout. This 12 CD set is something of a monument to the ensemble - I only wish they'd finished their collection of Monteverdi madrigals, which was equally good (La Venexiana are currently doing a magnificent job of recording all Monteverdi's books of madrigals for the GLOSSA label).
This is an expensive set, however, you will probably never need to buy another John Dowland CD again after buying and listening to this collection.
I bought this CD set on a mild Summer evening of 1998 and listened to it while sitting in my sun room - which a glorious orange sunset in progress, and a glass of wine. It brought back so many memories.
a beautiful journey into melancholy.......2001-06-15
I'm amazed at how many people tend to associate John Dowland's music with a tragic sense of drama. While no doubt this is art highly based on sadness, the "tragic" sense of it is more a legacy from the Romantic period. During the Renaissance, however, sadness was undestood as a very aesthetic way of approaching life. That is also the reason why Shakespeare's tragedies appear more sophisticated than his comedies.
Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare, discovered that meditating on a sad theme is, at the same time, a way of discovering a special beauty that we tend to avoid (maybe because of the "tragic" heritage of the Romantics). So, in the end, meditating on sadness is an uplifting experience! This box set is a journey into melancholy that includes songs, chamber music, pieces for lute, some rare sacred music and -as a highlight- Dowland's beautiful collection of seven pieces for viola which he called "Lachrimae" (Tears).

Making A Dream Come True must certainly have been just that for 12-year-old Becky Taylor, balancing singing with a symphony orchestra one day with being back at school the next. Having appeared in Les Misérables at age 7, she won the Thorndyke Theatre Talent Competition at 8 and the British Arts Award two years later. Inevitably dubbed the "new Charlotte Church," Taylor nevertheless avoids hymns and classical arrangements, offering an appropriately youthful selection from movies and musicals. Several of these, including the specially written "Song of Dreams," continue the theme of dreaming or have fantastical, magical connotations. With a Hollywood-style production and numbers from Peter Pan ("Just Beyond the Stars" and "I'm Flying"), Mary Poppins ("Stay Awake"), and The Rescuers ("Someone's Waiting for You"), there is a Disney-sweet sensibility throughout. Taylor makes a fine job of "Over the Rainbow," being a much more appropriate age for Dorothy than Judy Garland was. Moreover, she is surprisingly comfortable with "I Could Have Danced All Night" from My Fair Lady, though anyone would struggle to make much of "Thank You, Stars" from Watership Down. Demonstrating a voice years ahead of its time, this cute and innocent album promises much for Becky Taylor's future as a major stage-musical star. --Gary S Dalkin
Customer Reviews:
She's not the new Charlotte Church- She's Better!.......2006-11-02
It seems as if every young singer in the crossover genre is compared to Charlotte Church. I've always found comparisons odious and this one particularly so becuase Chruch is not that good of a singer. She was given opera to sing at an age when her vocal chords were no where near ready for it and as a result her voice has suffered. Becky Taylor on the other hand chooses very age appropraite material for her debut album recorded at the age of 12. Becky Taylor selects songs mostly from the stange and screen. Her tone is sweet and she doesn't push her voice to high notes that she shouldn't be trying to sing at such a young age. That doesn't mean this album is dull by any means. Taylor's voice is reminicient of a young Julie Andrews (especially on "I Could Have Danced All Night" from "My Fair Lady") and her "Over the Rainbow" surpasses a young Judy Garland. Other highlights are "Once Upon A December" from "Anastasia" and "Not While I'm Around" from "Sweeney Todd" More than anything else, "A Dream Come True" is an exciting introduction to a young vocalist to watch
Certainly a Dream Come True.......2004-12-06
I recently discovered this cd, and all I can say is I listen to it more than I listen to some of the adult singers I have on cd. She has an amazing voice, and she was only 12 when she recorded this. Some of what she does in "Once Upon a December" would be impressive for a 20-year-old! She also has a lot of fun in songs like "I'm Flying" and "Handful of Songs," which allows the listener to have fun, as well.
This is a perfect combination of classical training and Broadway sound. I look forward to much much more from Ms. Taylor.
Phenomenal!!!!!!!!!.......2004-01-06
Becky Taylor-A Dream Come True
Becky Taylor is a phenomenal Broadway singer. This girl blew my socks off. She's got to
be the most talented 12 year-old Broadway singer out there. It's a pity she didn't hit
platinum and become a superstar.
This album should have gone double platinum in no time. This should have been on of the
most successful debut albums ever.
Unfortunately because of wrong way it was marketed, and all the other complications this CD
didn't do as well as it should and could have. Unfortunately the media's tying of her and
Charlotte Church only hurt her. The media made her out to be the "new Charlotte Church,"
and perhaps that would have been well excepted now, but....Charlotte was at the height of
her career, and people didn't want a "new Charlotte." If they wanted to market her as a
"new so and so" they should have marketed her as the new Julie Andrews, or at least they
should have compared her to Julie, who was in her field. However the preferred to place her
along with Charlotte, event though they were in totally different genres.
My advice would be to re-release it, and spend big bucks on promotion. I heard EMI spent
$100,000. I think the should have doubled that.
Event with all the technicalities and sadness, of what could have been, I strongly
encourage people to buy this CD. It is phenomenal. I listen to it every single day several
times. It's amazing. My favorite's are,
1. Just Beyond the Stars
2. Once upon a December
3. Over the Rainbow
7. Song of Dreams
8. I could have danced all night
9. Not while I'm around
Although Becky does an unbeatable job on all her songs. I wish her all the luck on her new
album, "Shine." ...
Classic Gace........2003-01-22
Becky Taylor has a beautiful voice. I can easily see the comparison, to Charlotte Church. I really liked "Over the Rainbow". I have heard many renditions of this song, and her's is the best so far. I myself have recorded a CD. And I'm twelve to. I know people, tend to complain on younger people's singing more. I'm very classical, so I get lots of people saying things about me. But Becky did a great job. I just feel sorry for her, that she didn't get sighned up with Sony Classical. All I have to say is, great job Beacky! It would be a "Dream come true" to sing with you!

SHOCKING!!!.......2007-06-06
I am amazed they reissued this without adding bonus tracks like probably their best song 'Cosmos (Effect of the Sun)' b-side to 'Heartbeat like a Drum' 12inch. HOW? I don't care since I perfectly transferred that song to CD. You truly don't know Flock without hearing Cosmos.
Sad pathetic reissue to a poor album to begin with. Outright embarrassing corny lyrics displayed here. I don't mind the attempt at a new style of sound here, I have a soft spot for 'Heartbeat like a Drum' but Mike Score truly has nothing left to say. 'Dream Come True' represents the complete end of this once brilliant band.
For fans only.......2007-03-15
This album has it's moments. I actually don't mind listening to it now, but if this was 1986 and they just released this album, I would have pissed on it, especially knowing it would have been one of their last.
With their first 3 records, I think their sound was a little too weird for most music buyers at the time. Although they are a talented band, it was total luck they scored a hit with "I Ran" because the industry was just not ready for that kind of stuff back then. I believe this 4th release was an attempt to make an album a little easier on the ears for the more conservative, average music listener. Comparing this to their first album is a huge departure where that album played on a vibe rooted in punk rock with dark synth overtones and a concept story line about alien abduction. (((The cloud is moving nearer still. Aurora borealis comes in view. .......Aurora comes in view)))
AFOS is one of my favorite bands and I consider myself a loyal fan which is why I own this album. There are at least a few really awesome tracks on this record like "Hot Tonight", "Say So Much" and "How Could You Ever Leave Me" being some of the best songs of their career, in my opinion.
There are 2 types of people when it comes to this band: Those who really love their bizare, science fiction themed weirdness and own everything they've released and those who are only looking for "I Ran". Well, "I Ran" is not on this album which means you're probably wasting your time and money with this record unless you really love 80's synth-dance music like I do.
The thing is, the last time you heard this album was probably in the mid 80's while high on coke in some modish nightclub and 20 years younger. Now that you're older, and sober, this album might not sound as good as it used to.
From New Wave To Late 1980s Dance.......2007-02-06
This Flock of Seagulls album is a drastic shift from their spacy-sounding New Wave sound they were best remembered for to sounding like every late 1980s dance act group. Not that it's their worst effort for such a shift in music styles, though their weakest song here is "Whole Lot Of Loving".
Where The Seagulls Went To Die (but not until after a last gasp)..........2006-02-27
First, the criticism: The departure of guitar virtuoso Paul Reynolds is what really finished off The Gulls, and the release of this album sure didn't help them stay around any longer than they should have or could have. Just about all the material on Dream Come True is light-years away from the brilliance of "I Ran", "Space-Age Love Song" or "DNA". Actually it's just a continuance of the slide that began with the Flock's second album, "Listen," which was still excellent, just not on the same level as the group's debut. The Third album, "The Story Of A Young Heart" had several genuine gems (such as "Never Again," possibly their very best song), and the potential to be a stirring and emotional opus, yet didn't quite live up to the standards of the first two albums. And the void left by Reynolds' absence must have swallowed up just about whatever creativity the band had left.
Now, the good: Dream Come True isn't a total disaster. And, if you're reading this, you must either be a new fan of the group or already own this album on vinyl or cassette. So, I do believe I can recommend this disc for any Seagulls fan without guilt or remorse. It's like that one bad album that just about any group or artist records. As a fan, you want to have it, and listening to it once in a while helps you appreciate just how great the previous (or later) releases are.
After reevaluating the album as a whole, I've come to agree with most fans that "Hot Tonight" is the best song here. That in itself wouldn't be saying much, but it is really a good song, worthy of being on their second or third albums had it been written during those times. It's a solid, bass-heavy rocker, with some surprisingly good vocals throughout, especially at the end.
I've always questioned why "Who's That Girl" was the single from the LP, it just doesn't do anything for me. "How Could You Ever Leave Me" is far superior, with some fat guitar work that's (slightly) reminiscent of Paul Reynolds. That should have been the single. "Whole Lot of Loving" follows to close out the album, and it's a nice little ballad. Not quite as good as, say, "Transfer Affection" from "Listen" but a good song nonetheless. I can't say much about the other songs, except to mention "Love On Your Knees." Most fans would agree this is the Flock's worst song ever, but again after re-listening to it, it made me think, if Prince had wrote this song (and he could have, given the sexual innuendo) no one would say one bad thing about it. I say that "Heartbeat Like A Drum" and "Cry Like A Baby" are just plain awful, and should have never seen the light of day.
Conclusion: if you know these songs and like them, (or are just a loyal fan), get the disc. The remastering does sound good. There are no extras here, though. No b-sides or rare demos, nada. Not even lyrics or commentary. Makes you wonder why sometimes record companies can't go that extra step and give the customer a little more value for their money.
The Worst of A Flock Of Seagulls..........2006-01-28
I remember being a high school senior back in 1985, and listening to AFOS first two albums nearly nonstop. Then "Story of A Young Heart" came out, and although I didn't (initially) regard it as highly as the previous two discs, I gradually warmed to it and gave it a spot in my musical pantheon alongside A Flock's previous albums.
So obviously, I purchased "Dream Come True" when it was released and...was stunned by just how bad it was. I mean, how could their talent have deteriorated so rapidly between albums 3 and 4? A lot of this, I think, had to do with the departure of guitarist Paul Reynolds - a very underrated player, in my opinion. At any rate, "Dream Come True" pretty much marked the end of AFOS. (Mike Score still performs - with an ever-changing lineup of musicians - as A Flock Of Seagulls, and I continue to hear rumors about a tour featuring some original members, but nothing concrete.)
Ultimately, I'm left with a question about the re-release of "Dream Come True": Why release this abomination while "Story Of A Young Heart" remains unavailable?

An excellent exploration of Arlen.......1999-07-20
Julie Wilson offers another masterclass performance of songs by Harold Arlen with his numerous lyricists. Arlen's name is not as well known as some of his contemporaries, but his talents as a songwriter were magnificent. Julie Wilson and William Roy mine the Arlen songbook to produce an album of sterling quality, delivering delightful duets on such gems as 'Push De Button' and 'Lydia The Tattooed Lady'. Wilson offers brilliant readings of ballads and rhythm songs, capturing the mood and flavour of each song perfectly. Her sensuous take on 'Last Night When We Were Young' is particularly compelling. Roy's piano embellishments are, as ever, full of wit, sensitivity and formidable musicianship. A stunning offering.

Customer Reviews:
from Solo Piano Publications.......2004-10-26
"A Dream Come True" is an eclectic album that showcases a variety of Betsy Foster's composing styles. From love ballads to piano pieces to sweeping soundtracks, she feels equally at home in many genres. One of the things that I found interesting about the layout of the CD is that it begins with five instrumental pieces that are primarily piano and would probably be filed under "new age," followed by five vocals that are in a more pop style, and then five much bigger orchestrations. What ties the styles together is the sincerity and honesty of the music, as well as the deeply-felt emotions. Personally, I like the first five tracks the best, but the whole album is fascinating and engaging, and it's fun to experience such a variety of music on one album. Catherine Styron plays piano and synth on all but two tracks, where Gene Rabbai takes over on the bench. Vocals are performed by Heather Blair Jones and Brian Glenn. Most of the other instrumentation is on acoustic instruments, so this CD has a very full, rich sound.
"Mark's Song" opens the CD with a soulful piece composed after the death of Princess Diana, and later named for Betsy Foster's husband. Oboe and violins combine with the piano to make this an exceptionally poignant piece. "The Christmas Waltz" is light and charming - it is easy to picture bundled up couples ice skating on a frozen lake or pond to this piece. I like the mysterious quality of "Music Box, a duet for flute and piano. "Make A Joyful Noise" starts out as a simple "song without words," but builds into a full orchestration full of happiness and optimism. The five vocals are very well done and enjoyable, but I prefer the instrumentals. I do like "Chances" a lot - the lyrics are kind of different, and Heather Blair Jones makes them very personal. The instrumental version of "Loving You" is very gentle and sweet, with kind of a country feel to it. "Longing" has the sweep of a powerful soundtrack and packs an emotional wallop - what a beauty! "Hope" starts out big and becomes a gorgeous piano piece with accompaniment by a rich variety of instruments, becoming bigger again as the piece develops. "The Highlands" is another departure, with a Celtic feel and expansive style - haunting and lyrical.
"A Dream Come True" is a most impressive debut, and gives us a fascinating sampling of what Betsy Foster is capable of as a composer. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more from her in the future!
A tranquil and serene respite from a hectic world.......2003-12-10
------------------------------------
Turn off the lights. Sit alone, quietly, as day fades into night. Listen with your heart to "Going Home", as it conjures the honor guard, in full-dress; the soldier's coffin, horse-drawn and flag-draped; the widow and child, proud in their grief; and the comrade, straining to trumpet a dirge through his tears. If you see naught, you are already dead yourself, or certainly your soul must be.
Turn off the lights. Sit alone, quietly, liqueur glass in hand with sweet amber anesthetic, and let "Long, Long Ago" take you back -- if only for a fleeting moment -- to that one great love you let slip away.
Turn off the.... Well, no, actually, turn on the lights. Gather the family round and decorate the tree to the airy tinkle of the "The Christmas Waltz". Or walk down the wedding aisle to "Loving You". Or simply enjoy the serene lushness of "Mark's Song".
Out of my 500+ CD collection, this is one of the few I can listen to over and over, never growing weary of its musical delights and variety. Containing five piano pieces, five vocals, and five instrumental arrangements, the CD is a wonderful and tantalizing sampling drawn from a deep well of talent. Unlike most albums that contain such a wide range of styles, "A Dream Comes True" never jars the listener with dissonant transitions. Whether light classical, smoky jazz, or Celtic, the serendipitous pieces remain true to an underlying theme of soft romantic emotion. Even the saddest, or the most stirring, are but ripples in a tranquil pool.
Although Betsy's health problems no longer permit her to perform, she has gathered together a wonderful ensemble of musical talent, and their performances burnish her compositions, as polish does a diamond. If I sound slightly prejudiced in my praise of Betsy's musical gift, it's probably because I am. But then again, that's only one of the reasons why I married her.
THE FIRST HOME THEATURE ARTIST:MAGNIFICENT!!.......2003-11-06
This is the long awaited release by composer Betsy Foster. There are 15 songs. Five are vocals. The running time is 55 minutes, 10 seconds. The sound, production--by Denny Martin, and graphics are outstanding: very professional. I especially like the 11 page cover booklet, with pictures of Betsy (that span her life), lyrics, song commentary, and credits. The piano is the main instrument. You will hear many instruments that are found in a classical orchestra, plus the usual pop music ones. Heard are pop vocal ballads, movie theme, and semi classical. Most of the tracks sound like a classical orchestra, many with percussion added. I like 13 of the 15 selections. Everyone will love the 4 vocal ballads by Heather Blair Jones, Marlene O'Neill, and Brian Glenn. They are well worth the price of the disc! The fifth vocal is a jazz piece which isn't my cup of tea. The instrumentals I like the best, in that order, are: SHE WILL RISE AGAIN, HOPE, THE HIGHLANDS, LONGING, AND GOING HOME. The vocal selections I like best are: CHANCES; MONDAY MORNING, A RAINY DAY, AND YOU; HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY; AND LOVING YOU. LOVING YOU is played at weddings. It was made to sound like a folk song by Peter, Paul, and Mary. (Included, is an instrumental version of LOVING YOU.) Also, the piece, HOPE, is absolutely THE BEST composition, classical or otherwise! Nothing compares! Many composers can write complicated charts; not many can produce material with beautiful melodies and great emotion--and Betsy is the best!! This CD would make great holiday gifts. BUY THIS MAGNIFICENT OFFERING!!

Still Dreaming about this album.......2006-03-27
I picked this album up on cassette at Longs Drug Store in Monterey back in 1985ish, and was instantly hooked. So hooked that I picked up every one of Mr Klugh's albums religiously for the next 20 years. He is such an incredibly talented artist. I am ashamed to say that I've only now begun to convert my collection over to cd. The Dream Come True album holds so many special memories for me, in fact, in 1986, I named my new puppy "Doc", and that loyal pooch's personailty fit that tune's melody for his 13+ years on this Earth. The beautiful words at the end of "I Don't Want To Leave You Alone Anymore" still stir me up, and every single tune on this album takes me "there". Bravo and thanks to Mr. Klugh, thanks for sharing your dream with us.
...it was a "dream come true"............2003-06-22
...i've got most of his albums (LP's) and i'm almost done in "recollecting" them in CD versions...this particular album took a while to come out and i'm so glad that i've finally got one. my favorite song in this album is "DOC", but i really like, with no exaggerations, all his music in every album released. very classy, very soft...his songs are really "music to my ears"...
A career highlight that deserves to be reissued and enjoyed........1999-04-30
I owned the "Dream Come True" LP many long years ago, copied it onto audio tape and wore it out. It's easy for an album like this to get lost in the shuffle of 1970s-80s "funky smooth jazz" offerings. But there's always been more to Earl Klugh -- his choice of material, tasteful interpretations and unquestionable gift of talent.
If you're new to the territory, Earl Klugh (pronounced "Clue") is a Detroit-born guitarist who prefers an acoustic, nylon-string approach. Once you've heard him, his sound is instantly recognizable. He can play it fast, he can play it pretty, but always in service to the melody. Grandstanding ain't his style, but you know him when you hear him. He's staked out his territory.
"Dream Come True" brings on the funk, as well as beautiful ballads, light calypso touches, even a little countrified soul complete with steel guitar. Simply stated, this is my favorite Earl Klugh album in a long line of quality work.
"Dream Come True" deserves to be reissued and enjoyed by a new generation of music lovers. It stands the test of time.

Customer Reviews:
Ryan's CD is Great!!.......2001-08-17
This is a great CD! Ryan sings fantastically and the production & arrangements by David Diggs & Dave Siebels are great. The duets are my favorite (Ryan sings with Debby Boone & Rachel Diggs). Sunday in N.Y. is also a winner!
Fresh new talent.......2001-07-03
Ryan has a terrific voice and does a great job with some of the great big-band tunes and favorites from year's past. He has been compared to Sinatra and it is evident why. A nice selection of varying styles of music.
I can't stop playing this CD.......2001-06-13
Ever since I heard Ryan DeHues sing at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo., last month, I have been playing his CD almost non-stop and I never get sick of it. His voice has been compared to Sinatra's, but in my opinion it's even better! The quality of his voice is so unique and pleasing on every song. The CD has great variety too, from upbeat numbers like NIght and Day to the melancholy Wee Small Hours. I love how he sounds on that song in particular.....it's a very romantic sound. Overall , this CD is definitely worth buying!
My Dream Come True.......2001-06-12
This new offering should get lots of air play in several formats. 17 Year old Ryan Dehues won a national contest sponsored by Pat Boone to find the next great crooner. The album is fresh, and at the same time respectful of the great song writers on which Sinatra built his success. The material will please jazz buffs and pop fans as well. My favorite is "Day In, Day Out". It's really cooking. The musicians are energized by this youthful talent, who will still be singing when he is not so youthful! "Someone to Watch over Me" is a duet, featuring Debbie Boone, who came into the studio after more than 20 years absence. It's been too long. And Rachael Diggs joins Dehues on "The Way You Look Tonight. Tasty. This is a first for Dehues, you will be hearing more from this young artist who sounds twice his age.
