Customer Reviews:
One of the great vocal stylists!.......2006-04-27
Don Covay was one of the great vocal stylists of his era. Songs like "Mercy Mercy", "Take this Hurt Off Me", "Sookie Sookie", and "The Usual Place" set the standard for rock singers of the sixties to follow. In fact I feel that Mick Jagger's vocal style comes as a direct result of listening to Don Covay. Listen to "Mercy Mercy" and if you don't hear where Mick got his style, you're not listening close enough. This is a great collection of Don Covay's work.
GREAT! This man is TERRIFIC as a song writer and vocalist.......1999-06-23
